Kannywood actors, Hadiza Gabon and Usman Uzee were amongst the recipients of awards at the just concluded 20th African Hollywood Awards, which held in London.
The event took place at 29, The Broadway Stratford, London E15 4BQ on Saturday, and had some of the finest Nigerian and British filmmakers and actors in attendance.
While Gabon won the best actress award in the African Films in Hausa Language category, Uzee clinched the best film producer award also in the same category.
According to the event’s organizers, Mike Abiola and Golda-John Abiola, this year’s award was organised to coincide with the Britain Black History Month.
They also added that it was aimed at promoting film making collaborations between the British and Nigerian Film Industries.
Kannywood’s Adam Zango and embattled actress, Rahama Sadau, are past recipients of the award.
The duo won the best actor and best actress awards at the 2015 edition, which took place in Stratford, London.
