Popular Kannywood actress, Hafsat Sharada, died in the early hours of Tuesday after a brief illness.
Popularly known as Mai Aya, the actress was the oldest female actress in the industry.
She died at the age of 70.
Her most recent movie was one she acted alongside hilarious comedian, Akin, Hajia Babba.
According to Falalu Dorayi a family member, colleague and a film director who also confirmed the actress’ death, the industry is in a sober mood at the moment.
” We received the news of Mai Aya’s death with shock. I personally was traumatised because she is like a mother to all of us. I rushed to her house in Sharada the moment I received the shocking news,,” Mr. Dorayi said.
May Aya, will be remembered in the Kannywood for her hilarious acting skills and motherly role she played in the industry.
