If you ever thought that Daddy Fresh was no longer pursuing his music career, you are wrong.
Daddy Fresh, whose real name is Innocent Michael, is gearing up to release a new album titled: Rough Diamonds.
The album will be his fifth in a musical career spanning almost two decades, and will see the singer explore new genres.
According to him, the work will feature 2face Idibia, Oritsha Femi, Ras Kimono amongst many others.
The fair complexioned singer says the album tells the story of his life and is a message to his fans as well as those who look up to him. ”Like a rough diamond, I have been to hell and back, thank God”, he said.
The singer says he has been off the scene for a while trying to sort himself out.
“I was taking care of some domestic issues, recording all the while in the studios and generally battling with forces that were trying to keep me under. But I give praise to God for the gift of life, the talent He has given me, and the strength to carry on.”
Prior to the release of his debut album in 1994, he was already in the spotlight as a member of the group Pretty Busy Boys (made up of himself, Sexy Pretty, Daddy Showkey and Cashman Davis).
Late last year, the singer was rumoured to be working on a comeback album alongside his former band mates.
The group is best known for their hit track, Big Belle.
