RMD "explores legal option" against blogger Linda Ikeji

Popular Nollywood actor Richard Mofe Damijo (popularly known as RMD) has said he is “exploring the option” of taking  model turned blogger, Linda Ikeji, to court.

Ms. Ikeji, on Friday, posted on her popular blog about a “palatial home” in Asaba, Delta State, worth about N250 million acquired by the top actor as he turned 51 the same day.

Responding to the publication via twitter, RMD told Ms. Ikeji to go “and get a life.”

“It has been brought to my attention that one Linda Ikeji character who I understand is a gossip has put up a story about my N250m,” said RMD, who is the Delta State Commissioner for Arts and Culture.

“Ordinarily I will never dignify her type with a response but with the calls, texts (and) bbms I (have) received I’d like to sound a warning to her (Ikeji) to desist from fabricating stories about me and get a life.”

While admitting that knowing the worth of a property is “not rocket science”; RMD advised Ms. Ikeji to find a “dignified career path.”

“If you find a dignified career path and work hard at it you will be too busy and successful to spread unfounded lies about people,” RMD said.

Ms. Ikeji’s gossip blog continues to elicit angry reactions from celebrities.

Tonto Dikeh and Susan Peters are other Nollywood starts who had lashed out at the blogger in the past.

Last June, Kola Boof, best selling Egyptian/Sudanese-American author described her as “a desperate pathetic person who twists her posts into lies.”

So if the money to buy the property was not stolen declare your asset and but the matter to bed. Once you’re called to server you open to things like this. This is part of accountability, just a word of advice.

      Well said Naubiko, well said!

RMD. This is the new way to make money and seek attention. Ethnic bigots, cantankerous trolls, garrulous nincompoops, hideous characters with nothing better to do with their lives. They have turned the internet into the new way to seek attention and in the process make some money. At least LIB is known. There are so many faceless characters that spew so much venom online all in the name of freedom of speech and anonymity. It will soon end.

And your point is @Lanre. Our leaders need to re-examine themselves. They are human hence the need to be accountable. RMD knows if he takes the case to court, it’s going to wash his dirty linen in public.

Power has gotten into RMD’s head. I expect a more mature response from him. Isn’t it the same Linda Ikeji they (celebrities) use to promote their stories? Isn’t this the same Linda that corrected the report about RMD dying in a motor crash sometime ago.

So, he agrees he’s 51, agrees he has a house, so why get so angry at the cost of the house? Why not just say that the house doesn’t cost that much and forget about such a harsh personal attack on Linda. He carefully avoided saying the truth about the cost of the house. I am disappointed in RMD. I sense some jealousy here. RMD is jealous of Linda Ikeji and it’s astonishing.

I do know that these celebrities actually send these their car and house acquisition stories to Linda and request her to publish them, otherwise, how does she get the stories with pictures? #GodisWatchingUsAll

  • The VULTURE – King of Offals

RMD lost a golden opportunity to debunk the allegation if indeed it is FALSE. I want to believe that indeed RMD put up a structure ( HOUSE) far beyond his income as a commissioner.

Well – he could come up with the lame excuse that as a media/arts practitioner, he made his money by the side moon lighting.

The simplest way of out of this is for EFCC to probe RMD to confirm the source of financing the house. If he is found wanting, the should be made to face the music.

It is a shame that we heap all the blames of the country on the septuagenarian POLITICIANS while the YOUNG SHALL GROW politicians are no BETTER.
