DSTv Mobile is compensating its customers with one month of free Tv viewing after weeks of failed services angered subscribers.The compensation was announced by Maiyo Simapungula, DSTv Mobile’s public relation and communication manager in an email to Premium Times, as well as via Facebook posts.Premium Times had reported how DStv Mobile subscribers groaned under poor services and lost subscription fees.The problem, which Mr Simapungula described as “unforeseen subscription problem”, lasted for weeks, according to subscribers interviewed.
Subscribers were unable to access the DStv Mobile services. Consumer who attempted to subscribe had their accounts debited but were denied rights to view mobile TV.“The problem has since been rectified and to remedy the situation, DStv Mobile has given all affected subscribers one month free viewing (8 February – 8 March 2012) on the cellphone that was affected,” Mr. Simapungula said. To access free mobile TV, he said affected subscribers simply need to ‘retrieve subscription’ on the respective cellphone.
