Ailing Yoruba actor, Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe, on Tuesday, refuted a death rumour.

Obviously upset about the speculations which were rife on the internet, the 60-year-old film star resorted to cursing ”those behind the rumour” in a funny manner on video.

He said, ”I am very alive and strong. I am currently receiving treatment at Rhodes Island. Anyone that wishes me death will die while I will live to a ripe old age.’’

Mr Latin, the president of the Theatre and Motion Pictures Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), also refuted Baba Suwe’s death rumours in an Instagram video on Tuesday.

“Good afternoon everybody, the purported rumour about Baba Suwe’s death is fake. It’s fake news, Baba Suwe is alive, he is presently in America undergoing treatment.

”I thank you all for your support, for your concern, I want to tell you authoritatively that Baba Suwe is alive, he is hale, he is healthy, he is alive, nothing happened to him, thank you and God bless you,” he said

PREMIUM TIMES had reported how the actor arrived in the U.S. for medical treatment on Sunday.

He was accompanied by his son Sola, and is expected to complete his medical treatment at an unnamed hospital in Rhode Island.

The development comes two months after the actor publicly solicited for financial support during an interview with popular broadcaster, Kola Olotu, in Ibadan.
