Awards: Ali Nuhu and Aisha Tsamiya won the Best Actor and Actress awards at the City People Awards 2014.
Halima Atete won Best Supporting Actress, Zahradden Sani, Best Supporting Actor. Other winners were Rahma Sadau, Nazifi Asnanic, Abba Miko and Sadiq Mafia.
Albums: Adam Zango released his second album Sabon Salo Vol. 2. Sani Danja released Alhaji featuring Terry G.
Suleiman Sukus dropped Kickstarter.
Movies: Some of the top movies of the year according to critics and marketers were Hassana da Husaina starring Patience Ozokwor in a Nollywood crossover, Zeenat starring Aisha Tsamiya, Hadiza Mohammed, Adam Zango and Tanimu Akawo, Uwar Mugu with Halima Atete, Adam Zango, Rabiu Rikadawa and Aisha Yar Kano, Gudun Wuce Sa’a featuring Rahama Sadau, Mohammed Bello and Fadila Mohammed, and Ina kika je starring Yakubu Mohammed, Hadiza Gabon, Aisha and Tsamiya.
Deaths: The passing of Rabilu ‘Ibro’ Musa in December shook the industry.
2015: Adam Zango’s Basaja, Takun Karshe and Sadiq Sani Sadiq’s Mati da Lado are expected to hit the markets early 2015.
