This year’s edition of the Gulder Ultimate Search will be held at the Aguleri forest in Anambra State from October 3rd – 30th.

At a press conference, Tuesday, the Nigerian Breweries, the organizers, said that the winner of the 11th season of the reality TV show, known as the ‘Ultimate Hero.’ will be rewarded with a cash prize of N10 million and a brand new Sports Utility Vehicle.

“For 28 days, we will be entertained to an original Nigerian adventure programme with international class standards. The daily highlights will be on national terrestrial and satellite TV stations,” said Kufre Ekanem, Corporate Affairs Adviser, Nigerian Breweries Plc.

“As always, entry into the Search is free and the selection process will be rigorous with a national spread.

“The application form is available on www.gulderultimatesearch.tv from today till 31st of July, 2014. This internet-based application process will lead to thousands of people being screened in four locations across Nigeria.

“The four locations for the physical regional screening will be in Lagos, Benin, Port Harcourt, and Awka. There will be a final screening exercise in Lagos to produce the final set of young-adult, strong, intelligent, able-bodied men and women who are determined to go the extra mile to achieve success,” Mr. Ekanem added.

The Gulder Ultimate Search Season 11, tagged ‘The Mission,’ will see 12 contestants going deep into the Aguleri forest to retrieve the ‘cube.’

Other cash prizes for this year’s edition include N3 million for the first runner up; N2.5 million for the second runner up; and N1.5 million for the third runner up.

There are also cash rewards for each of the other final 11 contestants, with the ‘Last Girl Standing’ going home with N1 million, according to the organizers.

“In addition to the mouth-watering prizes, the Last Girl Standing will also drive home a Brand New Vehicle. If the Last Woman standing doubles as the Last Man Standing, she will go home with the later star prize, that is SUV and N11 million,” Mr. Ekanem said.

“The viewers at home are also empowered to vote for the contestant of their choice. The winner of the interactive exercise to consumer delight will also drive home a brand new vehicle,” he added.

The first edition of the Gulder Ultimate Search held in 2004 at Snake Island in Lagos.

Subsequent seasons had seen the search move to Obudu hills, Cross River State; Shere hills in Plateau State; Awgu hills, Enugu State; Omodo forest, Osun State; Omo forest, Ogun State, among others.

For the security and safety of the contestants, the organizers said that a fully equipped ambulance, a well trained medical team, and a world class security team would be put in place throughout the duration of the search.

A comprehensive insurance cover as well as modern communication gadgets to ensure minute-by-minute monitoring of the contestants would also be provided.

“This year is going to be very different from all the things we have done with GUS (Gulder Ultimate Search) in the last years,” said Emmanuel Agu, Marketing Manager, Gulder, Legend, Life.
