I am not a porn star – Afrocandy

“If they don’t really like what I do, why follow me around? It’s only because they are hypocrites”.

Controversial actress and singer, Judith Mazagwu, popularly known as Afrocandy, who is also known for her explicit sexual movies, said contrary to reports, she is not pornographic star.

The singer and movie producer said this in an interview with a Lagos based national daily, National Mirror. She, however, added that she could pose nude for magazine.

“I did not go into pornographic movies. I reiterate that I am not into pornography and it seems the press and Nigerians are really wishing I did,” she said. “I started doing regular movies with some sort of nudity or adult content but they kept saying porn and calling me a porn star.”

“I have cleared the air several times in my interviews but I don’t think you guys get it all. Do you call Hollywood movies that show HBO, pornographic? Do you call movies like Basic Instinct, Monster Ball,
Savages and so on, pornographic? I guess it’s because I’m a Nigerian, that’s why”, Afrocandy said.

She said she has gained fame and wealth from doing adult content movies and that Nigerians pretend not to like her movies but “chase her around”.

“If they don’t really like what I do, why follow me around? It’s only because they are hypocrites”

Afrocandy released her first single “Somebody Help Me” in 2009 with a follow up controversial single, Ikebe Na Moni.

She made her first appearance in a movie as Susan in “Dangerous Sisters”.
