The YMAA holds annually to celebrate the successes of the Yoruba Movie industry.
Popular actress, Fathia Balogun, and fellow actor, Odunlade Adekola, have emerged the biggest winners at the third Yoruba Movies Academy Awards, clinching best actress and actor respectively.
The event which was held at the Ibadan Civic Centre in Agodi on Sunday, March 30, 2014 had in attendance the best of the Yoruba movie practitioners.
The YMAA holds every year to celebrate the successes stories of the Yoruba movie industry.
Although the award was short of categories, the organisers honoured some of Yoruba movie actors with special recognition awards.
They include late Kola Ogunmola, Akinwunmi Ishola, Duro Ladipo and Mama Awero.

Solid Star to sing official Super Eagles theme song for the 2014 World Cup
Nigerian singer, Solidstar, who recently signed an ambassadorial deal with the Nigerian Football Supporters Club, will sing the official Super Eagles theme song for the 2014 World Cup.
According to an official of Achievas Entertainment, Solid star’s label, who spoke with NET newspaper, the theme song is aimed at inspiring and uniting the players on and off the pitch and also Nigeria.
Solidstar released his second album ‘Grace & Glory’ in November 2013.

Jay Z raps about Nyong’O
Multiple award winning Kenyan actress, Lupita Nyong’O, recently got a mention from rap lord, Jay Z, in his new song, We Made it.
In the song with Jay Electronica, Jay Z said “I’m on my Lupita Nyong’o, Stuntin’ on stage after 12 Years A Slave. This Ace of Spades look like an Oscar. Black tux, look like a mobster”.
Lupita Nyong’o took to her Twitter account to appreciate the duo of Jay Z and Jay Electronic, tweeting,

Rapper, Wale, allegedly punches fan at WWE event
The American-Nigerian rapper, Olubowale Victor Akintimehin, popularly known as Wale, was reported to have punched a guy in the face at a World Wrestling Entertainment, WWE, event in Washington D.C. on the night of March 31.
According to TMZ, a witness, Jawn Murray, claims Wale was sitting right behind the announcers enjoying the show when a fan seated nearby began taunting the rapper. The witness said that Wale eventually got out of his seat and punched the fan.
“The next thing I know, Wale is putting the smack down on dude. Punched him dead in his face. It was a full fight,” Murray said.
TMZ said security officials rushed to where Wale was fighting and tried to break up the fight and then took everyone involved into a hallway.
Moments later, Wale returned to his seat and began snacking on popcorn like nothing happened.
