The submission of entries begins on June 22.
Back with its season 2, the Chase Awards, formerly Young Entertainment and Music Awards (YEM), has called for submission of songs.
According to the producer of the awards, Osein Olakunle, artistes and record labels must send in their entries to be considered for nomination.
Other conditions for submission of songs are: the music material must be released in the year under review (April 2012-April 2013); and the song or album must be submitted to the organizers. Organisers said the submission is very important as non-submission of the materials will render the participant ineligible for nomination. Artistes are also not allowed to submit music materials created by other individuals; to do so they must own the copyright to such materials.
Other criteria for submission of songs include: Music materials that endorse /encourage fraud, alcohol abuse, narcotics and wanton sex are not eligible for submission, except said material(s) have radio edited versions; all submitted eligible materials are considered for nomination, regardless of who submitted them; non-Nigerian creators (including artistes, producers and music video directors) are not eligible for nomination; and artwork/studio picture and biography/profile must follow each entry.
Submission of entries begins on June 22 and ends on August 17, the organisers said. Last year’s awards ceremony took place on December 21, 2012 at the Bespoke event centre in Lekki, Lagos.
