Str8 Up Hip-Hop to pay tribute to Notorious B.I.G

There will also be a special preview session from Modenine’s Alphabetical Order by Dj Jimmy Jatt.

A monthly rap music appreciation show, Str8 Up Hip-Hop, has tagged its March edition, Lyricism 101, in appreciation of late American rapper, Christopher Wallace, best known as The Notorious B.I.G.

The Notorious B.I.G has been described as possibly the most skilful on the mic having lyrical depth, with themes described as a mixture of autobiographical details about crime and violence coupled with emotional honesty.

The March edition of Str8 Up Hip Hop to be hosted by Andre Blaze will be a platform to appreciate lyrics in hip hop, while Africa’s finest Disk Jockey, DJ Jimmy Jatt, will hold down a definitive B.I.G tribute and a special preview session from Modenine’s album, Alphabetical Order.

Str8 Up Hip-hop will hold at Koga Studios, Oregun Road, Ikeja, on Saturday, March 28, 2013; admission tickets will be sold for N5000.

There will be performances by Butafly (TBB), Dolapo, and Five Mics while DJ Ozee will be on the wheels of steel. Other events for the evening are emcee battle sessions as well as graffiti art by Uprizn. Red carpet for the event starts at 5 p.m.

Str8 up Hip hop is a production of Now Muzik En Core in partnership with Beat 99.9 fm.
