Heros and Zeros, The Contract, lead AMAA 2013 nominations

Justus Esiri was posthumously nominated for best actor in a leading role.

The nominees for the 2013 most prestigious award for movie makers, African Movie Academy Awards, AMAA, have been announced. The event which took place in Malawi was well attended by movie practitioners in Africa.

Leading the nominees list with 6 nominations each are Heros and Zeros and The Contract. Other movies with multiple nominations are Last Flight To Abuja, The Meeting, Twin Sword, Blood and Henna and; Okoro, The Prince.

Heros and Zeros was nominated for sound, editing, screenplay, Best Nigerian Film, Best Actor in a Leading Role and Best Director. The Contract was nominated for editing, screen play, Best Actor in a Leading role and Best Actress in a Leading Role.

The late Nigerian actor, Justus Esiri was also nominated for Best Actor in a Leading role for the movie Assassins Practice. Also representing Nigeria in the prize for best short movie is Big Daddy, a film directed by The NET Newspaper columnist, Chris Ehindero.

The award ceremony is scheduled for April 25 in Bayelsa.
