Nigeria’s star rapper, M.I, set to release new album after a three year hiatus.

After allegedly selling six million copies of his last album, foremost Nigerian Hip Hop artiste, M.I, is set to make a big comeback from a three-year self-imposed hiatus to set a new standard.

The Plateau State born artiste will on February 21, release the first single off his much-anticipated album, “The Chairman”, set for release in June 2013.

Although he has not put out any new music in three years, he says he has been very busy.

“In 2012 alone, I was appointed the United Nation’s Ambassador for the Smuggling of Migrants, performed alongside Naeto C on the Hennessy Artistry Tour, and was actively performing my duties as the VP of Chocolate City Music whilst making creative contributions to Brymo’s 2012 debut release with Chocolate City, TheSonOfaKapenta,” the rapper said.

On what should be expected of him with regards to the new album, he said, “I don’t have any other information except that it’s going to be beyond anyone’s imagination. Everyone just has to wait a few days for the unveiling to begin.”

M.I who is currently in the studio with WizKid, Burna Boy, Loose Kaynon, and E. Kelly, among others, boasts of a different sound, the same effortless delivery and strong international collaborations.
