The Director, Administration and Human Resources, Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilisation, CBAAC, Shedrach Golen, has suggested that Nigeria‘s culture be show-cased locally and internationally.
Mr. Golen made the suggestion in Lagos on Wednesday.
He said that Nigeria has more than 300 hundred ethnic groups, each with a distinct cultural heritage, adding that the varieties of the nation’s culture made it the most fascinating in Africa.
He said a lot should be done to make each culture acceptable among Nigerians and globally.
“The traditional institutions, and community development associations are closer to the people and should, therefore, harness and market the various distinct cultural heritage locally and internationally,’’ Mr. Golen said.
He said that community leaders and associations could from time to time organise and showcase their cultures through cultural carnivals.
He suggested that the various tiers of government and private sectors should also join hands to harness and market the various cultures.
“Marketing of the various cultural heritage both locally and internationally could become a source of revenue if properly handled,’’ he said.
