Timi Dakolo performed at the event Governor Yakowa attended.

Soon after the deaths of Kaduna Governor, Patrick Yakowa; former National Security Adviser, Owoeye Azazi; and their aides from a helicopter crash were announced this evening, it was rumoured that singer Timi Dakolo, and his wife, Busola, also lost their lives in the same crash.

However, witnesses in Bayelsa State where the soul crooner attended the same event as the late governor confirmed that Timi performed right after the helicopter took off.

The singer himself took to Twitter to post. “God saved me.”

Turns out, he was supposed to hitch a ride on the same helicopter.

President Goodluck Jonathan has since ordered an investigation into the cause of the crash.
