Nov.2 (PREMIUMTIMES)—The 2012 edition of Music meets Runway promises to be bigger and better, Le Reve Events, organizers of the show has said.
Speaking at a press chat, producer of the show, Jennifer Olize, said with the new concepts added, she is certain that show will reach a zenith.
“I have very high expectations for the show this year. With this year’s new additions and concept we plan to make the show more trendy, fierce and over the top.
The show, billed to take place in December 2012 at the Eko Hotel is designed to promote talents in the Music and Fashion industries. The concept is simply a fusion of music by top Nigerian acts and a runway show featuring creative designs by up-and-coming Nigerian designers.
On the idea behind the event, Ms. Olize said it is to encourage philanthropic growth.
“This pioneering event is not to support the fashion and music industry alone but to also create avenues for philanthropic growth through the Music Meets Runway Foundation, as a percentage of proceeds raised from tables sold at the event will be donated to a chosen charity organizations,” she said.
According to her, the sole idea is to encourage young students to follow their dreams despite the challenges facing the Nigerian educational system.
The inaugural edition held at the prestigious Expo Centre, Eko Hotel & Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos, in December last year.
