Pregnancy scandal: Dino Melaye, an unrepentant liar – Brother-In-law

The actress, Bisi Ibidapo-Obe, has reportedly challenged the former lawmaker to a paternity test when the child is born.

A dramatic twist has been added to an ongoing ‘Nollywood movie’ currently being played by former lawmaker cum activist, Dino Melaye, and Yoruba actress, Bisi Ibidapo-Obe, with the inclusion of a new character.

Over the past few days, both parties have kept the social media and public buzzing over accusations and counter accusation by the actress over the paternity of her pregnancy.

The new character is Melaye’s brother-in-law, Moses Yomi –Fabiyi, who spoke out for the first time on Monday on the micro-blogging site, Twitter; a day after his sister and Melaye’s wife, Tokunbo, threw her weight behind her husband via the same site.

Fabiyi who claimed to be the brother of Melaye’s legal wife, Tokunbo, who bore him three children, said his in-law was indeed guilty of all the allegations.

His tweets which came in quick succession read, “I know Dino to be an unrepentant liar. I believe he got that lady (Bisi) pregnant. Why not be a good man and own up, then apologise to his wife (Tokunbo)? He should try something else. Everyone, including his family, are aware [that] he got her (Bisi) pregnant.

“Seeing how things turned for him, he suddenly became an activist. The luck Dino has is that he married one of the calmest Fabiyi girls. Else, it would’ve been a different gist totally.”

He further added that “I am Barr. Moses Yomi Fabiyi from Ekinrin Adde in Ijumu LGA in Kogi State. Dino happened to represent my constituency at the National Assembly (NASS). I make bold to say [that] there is no physical contribution from Dino’s term as our representative. Please ask Mr ‘Upright what happened to constituency allocations? Little wonder the PDP refused to give him ticket to re-run which made him [to] decamp to ACN and lost woefully on that platform.”

Narrating how their paths crossed, Bisi said she was introduced to Melaye by fellow actress, Lola Alao; and over time they became an item. During a trip to Canada she found out she was pregnant and immediately informed Melaye who was in Nigeria and he was excited about it. She also added that when she got back, he proposed to her. According to her the bad times began shortly after, when the lawmaker asked her to have an abortion with the excuse that his church frowned at pregnant brides and has since then lost contact with Melaye.

Meanwhile, Tokunbo also took to twitter throwing her weight behind her husband. “I am solidly behind my hubby. No shaking and please! Enough with all the rumour mongering! Why would anyone attack my hubby over falsehood? Please get your facts right. I am solidly behind my man.

Bisi has reportedly challenged Dino to be ready for a DNA test for the baby after birth.

In response, Dino described Bisi’s claims as an “Africa Magic’s story and an expression of fiction.”

The former lawmaker declined to make further comments when contacted.

Dino in-law has said it all. Dino lie may be because he has no stolen money to take care of Bisi child. why didn’t Bisi call another ex-law makers. I think Dino should not misled Nigeria again with his lies. he should go and take care of his expected child from Bisi. This is the type of people the Nigerian call Honorable liar

So this is what our culture is now turning to? It only demonstrates the fact that all the actors (or actresses) in this story lack basic home training and decorum. Why wash their dirty linen in public? Was she not aware the man was married, and how naive (at her age and experience) could she believe he was going to marry her? That was a common one back in secondary school – except though that she probably never attended one! This is even exemplified by the brother-in-law (or, now turned outlaw) as well, a good indication of the low quality of their family upbringing! They need to put their personal selfish ego (and libido) aside and consider the scandal and controversy they are laying down for the yet-unborn-child! After all, these types of scenarios are now becoming more typical in Nigerian social life – they could put their energy to better use by championing the removal of “bastards” from our legal system!

Those of us who knew Dino back when we were in ABU, Zaria knew he was a big liar and betrayer. He could do anything to make money. He was fickle-minded and unintelligent. His journey to the House of reps just like that of most reps was full of lies, deceits and abnormalities.

Seeing Dino in the house of rep further confirms the claim that the house is full of former criminals and rogues. Truly, we are really ruled by thugs and fools. Right from school
