After weeks of intense auditions, performances and evictions, 25-year-old Ayobami Ayoola Ayolola, has emerged the 5th winner of Project Fame West Africa.
He went away with the star prize of N2.5m, a Toyota RAV 4 and a lucrative record deal.
AYO, who is the personal assistant to Nigerian saxophonist, Mike Aremu, clinched the first position after edging out other finalists at the grand finale held at the Project Fame Studios, Lekki, Lagos on Saturday, September 29, 2012.
Marvellous, Adetoun and Ella also emerged first, second and third runner-up positions respectively.
Marvellous was handed a cheque of N1.5m and a Toyota Corolla.
It was a Toyota Yaris and N1m for Adetoun while Ella settled for the consolation prize of N1m.
AYO, who has had some acting stints, was a contestant at the first ever Nigerian Idol competition in 2011.
Although he made the final 12, his singing prowess was not enough to get him past the first round of the finals.
With this win, Ayo becomes the third male winner of the music reality show and joins the list of past winners – Iyanya, Mike Ayansodo, Chidinma and Monica.
