President Muhammadu Buhari has reappointed Elias Mbam as chairman, Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
Mr. Mbam completed his first tenure since November 2015.
A statement from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, (OSGF) said on Tuesday that President Buhari approved his re-appointment with immediate effect.
Mr. Mbam, who was born September 2 1958 in Nwofe-Agbaja, in Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) in 1984 after obtaining an Associate’s degree at Hartford State Technical College in the United States in 1979.
He served as the Chairman of Enugu Board for Housing between 1996 and 1998; Chairman of the Ebonyi State Board for Housing (1996-1998) and Chairman of the Ebonyi State Lands Board (1998-1999).
He was appointed Commissioner of Public Works, Lands, Housing and Transport in Ebonyi (1999-2001) and Commissioner of Public Works and Transport in Ebonyi (2001-2005).
In a related development, the president also approved the appointment of Marilyn Amobi as the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Company (NBET).
Until her appointment, Mrs. Amobi, who was born in 1968, was Director, Economics and Management Associates Limited, London.
Mrs. Amobi’s appointment is for a tenure of four years.
NBET is a wholly-owned Federal Government company incorporated on July 29, 2010 as scheduled in the Electric Power Sector Reform Act (EPSRA) 2005.
The company serves as the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for buying electricity in bulk from power generation companies (GENCOS) for resale to the distribution companies (DISCOS), in addition to other ancillary services for the GENCOS.
Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Plc (NBET) aka the Bulk Trader, company incorporated on July 29 2010 as part of President Goodluck Jonathan’s roadmap for Power sector reform towards the full implementation of the Electric Power Sector Reform Act (EPSRA).
