He will step into Mr. Emefiele’s shoes as GMD/CEO designate
The Board of Directors of Zenith Bank Plc has announced the immediate appointment of Peter Amangbo as the Managing Director/CEO-designate of the bank with effect from June 1.
Mr. Amangbo’s appointment followed last week’s confirmation by the National Assembly of Godwin Emefiele as the next governor of the Central Bank. Mr. Emefiele is the current Managing Director/CEO of Zenith and will resume at the Central Bank when Lamido Sanusi’s tenure ends in June.
Zenith Bank said Mr. Amangbo’s appointment was consistent with its tradition and succession strategy of grooming leaders from within its fold to take charge of its management, subject to confirmation by the CBN.

Prior to joining the banking industry, he was a senior consultant with PriceWaterhouseCooper where he covered assignments in financial services, manufacturing, and general commerce.
He was part of the team that drove the Strategic Planning and Successful execution for repositioning the Zenith Bank.
