Nestle tops gainers chart, makes N8.99 gain after Wednesday transactions

Nestle topped the gainers chart after Wednesday’s transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange. The firm made N8.99 gain, one of the highest share price gain margin attained in recent times by a firm on the Exchange. The firm’s shares closed at N938.99 after transactions, from N930.

Nigerian Breweries came second on the top five gainers chart, with a gain of N3.00. The firm’s share price closed at N165.00 after the day’s trading, from N1162.00. Guinness also closed at N247.50 from N245.01, recording a gain of N2.49 after transactions. Josbrew came in at number five with a gain of N0.56, closing after trading at N6.22 from N5.66.

Unilever led the losers chart, recording a loss of N3.00. The Firm’s share closed at N56.00 from N59.00. United Bank for Africa, UBA lost N0.20 after the day’s trading, closing at N7.10 from N7.30. Custodyins lost N0.14 and closed at N1.30 from N1.44. Neimeth closed at N1.03 after trading, from N1.14, losing N1.03. Nascon also lost N0.10 after the day’s trading, its share price closing at N11.60, from N11.70.

UBA had the highest volume of transactions, after the day’s trading and led the pack of the top five most traded shares and investors delight with a volume of 21.8 million shares traded at N155.8 million. This was followed by Transcorp which traded 17.2 million shares valued at N23.6 million. Zenith Bank traded 14.8 million shares valued at N288 million. Fidelity Bank came in at number four, trading 14.6 million shares valued at N37.7 million while Skye Bank traded 13.8 million shares valued at N58.3 million.
