The Central Bank of Nigeria on Wednesday increased its forex by $25.73 million (about N4 billion) worth of foreign exchange at its 31st bi-monthly Wholesale Dutch Auction System (WDAS).
The apex bank disclosed this on its website, released after the WDAS trading.
The Central Bank sold $272.25 million (N42.19 billion) as against the 246.52 million dollars (N38.21 billion) sold on April 22.
The bank had not gone above selling $300 million weekly since the beginning of the month.
According to the bank, the naira maintained its appreciation against the dollar at the auction, trading at N155.75 to the dollar.
It said that 19 banks participated at the bi-weekly WDAS auction as against 18 banks that traded in the auction on April 22.
