The Federal Executive Council, FEC, may approve the award of contract for the printing of 33.5 million permanent voters’ cards when members meet on Wednesday for the weekly meeting in Abuja.
A PREMIUM TIMES source close to the Presidency in Abuja who sighted the agenda for the meeting said in confidence that President Goodluck Jonathan, who would preside, is expected to present the memo on the contract for discussion by members.
Also, during the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olugbenga Ashiru, would present a memo on the report of the third Africa-South America, ASA, summit of Heads of State and Government held last February in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.
Similarly, the Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, would present the memo to solicit the consideration of members to approve the establishment of a National Fire Safety Code for the country, while the Minister of Works, Mike Onolememen, would present a memo on the re-scoping of contract for the rehabilitation of Nsukka-Obollo-Ikem-Ehamufu-Nkalagu Road in Enugu State.
In continuation of the annual performance appraisal and evaluation of ministries, departments and agencies, MDAs, by members of the Council, the Chairman of the National Sports Commission, NSC, Bolaji Abdullahi, and his counterpart in the National Planning Commission, NPC, Shamsudeen Usman, are expected to take their turns to brief the Council on their progress, challenges and achievements.
