Dangote still richest in Africa, now worth N2.4trn

Two Nigerian industrialists are on the world’s list of billionaires.

Nigerian Industrialist, Aliko Dangote, has retained his position as the richest man in Africa.

This is contained in the Forbes list of billionaires released on Monday.

Mr. Dangote is ranked number 43 in the world and has a new worth of $16.1 billion (N2.4 trillion). The Magazine described Mr. Dangote’s source of wealth as “cement, sugar, flour.”

The businessman has moved up 23 places having been placed in the 76th position last year with a net worth of $11.2 billion (N1.7 trillion). He was also the richest African then.

Another Nigerian in the billionaire’s list is oil and telecommunications mogul, Mike Adenuga.

Mr. Adenuga, the 267th richest man, according to the ranking, has a net worth of $4.7 billion (N705 billion). His source of wealth was described as “telecom, oil”

Both men are major financiers of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party.
