Oshiomhole starts second term of office.

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo on Monday in Benin took the oath of office for his second term as governor of the state.

The Chief Judge of the State, Cromwell Idahosa, administered the oath on the governor and his deputy, Pius Odubu.

The governor pledged to rededicate himself to the development of the state and to give tertiary education a big boost.

He said he would ensure massive development of industries and attract direct foreign investments to the state that would ensure that the youths were gainfully employment.

The governor thanked the people of the state for their massive support at the July 14 governorship election, saying that he would not renege on his electioneering promises.

Mr. Oshiomhole also paid tribute to his late wife, Clara, his assassinated principal private secretary, Olaitan Oyerinde, and four journalists who died in his campaign trip.

Among the dignitaries present at the inauguration are former Head of State, Yakubu Gowon; as well as governors of Imo, Delta, Anambra, Ekiti, Osun, Rivers, Lagos and Ogun States

Others were business tycoon, Aliko Dangote; the National Chairman of the Action Congress of Nigeria, Bisi Akande; the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Abdulwaheed Omar; and a former Minister of Defence, Godwin Abbe.
