Oshoala replicates Nkwocha at AWCON

Asisat Oshoala on Sunday in Limbe, Cameroon became the second player in the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations tournament after former Falcons’ striker, Perpetua Nkwocha, to score four goals in a single match.

The 22-year-old, who plays her trade in England with Arsenal Ladies, scored in the 40th, 63rd, 69th and 76th minutes.

At the post-match conference, Oshoala said, “I did not come with a target in mind to win the Most Valuable Player or the top scorer, rather to make my country (Nigeria) proud.”

Nigeria eventually won the game 6-o against Mali.

Juventus teenager makes Serie A history

Moise Kean played the last six minutes of Juventus’ Seria A match against Pescara to become the first player born in 2000 to play in the Italian top flight. The Cote d’Ivoire native was born on February 20, 2000.

Ward outpoints Kovalev to win 3 titles

Andre Ward and Sergey Kovalev were both unbeaten before their bout on Saturday but only Andre Ward left the ring with his unbeaten record intact. In beating Kovalev unanimously [112-111 on all three judges’ scorecard], Ward won three light heavyweight titles at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

Murray confirms status as No.1
