The Catholic Priest in charge of Adoration Ministries, Enugu, Ejike Mbaka, on Wednesday presented N2 million and decoders to players and officials of Rangers FC for winning the Nigerian league.
Mr. Mbaka made the presentation at the dedication of the league trophy to God at the ministry by the club.
The cleric said he was happy that God fulfilled his promise to the club after 32 years.
“Before the 2016/2017 season began, we dedicated the players and the league to God in which a prophecy came that the league trophy belongs to Rangers,” the cleric said.
“Today, we are celebrating God’s work in action, we are no more praying to emerge the champion but celebrating the champions.
“For this achievement, I and the Adoration Ministries hereby give N2 million to Rangers FC and a decoder to each member of the club,’’ Mr. Mbaka said.
The Enugu State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Charles Ndukwe, thanked Mr. Mbaka and assured that the club would always seek God’s presence in their endeavours.
Mr. Ndukwe also tasked the ministry to pray for the successful outing of the club in the CAF Champions league and Nigerian league.
Rangers General Manager, Paul Chibuzo, thanked God for a successful league season for the club.
“Now, I know that whatever God destined to be, must surely come to be.
“For 32 years, we have been fighting for this trophy and most times, we nearly get to it, but one thing or the other will deprive us the cup,” he said.
Mr. Chibuzo said the club would remain grateful to God for his favour and prayed for more successes in the next football season.
