Super Eagles attacking midfielder, Michael Babatunde, has revealed that he is set to get a new deal with his Qatari club, Qatar SC.
Qatar SC are keen to reward the Nigerian star with a new improved contract following his brilliant debut season at the club and the enormous impact he made in helping them secure promotion to the elite division.
It is however understood that the Nigerian international, who emerged as Qatar SC player of the season in his debut season after he scored 25 goals, is also attracting interests from a couple of clubs in Europe with some ready for loan deals while others will be happy to hand the Brazil 2014 World Cup star a permanent deal.
Babatunde, with his 25 league goals, is Nigeria’s top gun abroad as he is ahead of the trio of Kayode Olarenwaju (22 goals), Henry Onyekuru (22 goals) and Anthony Nwakeame (18 goals).
Despite the accolades and offers coming his way, Babatunde, told journalists in Lagos that he remained focused and would continue to work hard for a return to Nigeria’s national team.
“I had a good season but it’s not enough to have a good season and be left out of your national team,” he said.
“I’m happy we gained promotion but I want to build on that form so I can get a chance to represent my country.
“I have been approached by several teams but I want to make a decision that will boost my chances of making a return back to the team.”
