Champions League: Ahmed Musa’s Leicester City through to knockout phase


Ahmed Musa and his Leicester City teammates are through to the knockout phase of the UEFA Champions League following their 2-1 win over Club Brugge.

The Foxes failed to set a new record of going more games without conceding a goal, as Club Brugge scored against them at the King Power Stadium in a match that witnessed Riyad Mahrez net his fourth goal in the competition.

The result sealed the Foxes progression into the next phase of the ccompetition.

Also, Sevilla conceded their first goals in the UEFA Champions League against Juventus as the Old Lady ran out as 3-1 winners on Tuesday night.

In the other Group H encounter, Dinamo Zagreb lost at home to Lyon courtesy a goal from France international Alexandre Lacazette.

There was goals galore in Germany where Dortmund beat Legia Warsaw 8-4. On their part, Real Madrid required a late goal from Karim Benzema to beat Sporting Lisbon 2-1.

FC Porto failed to score in Denmark as they drew goalless to FC Koebenhavn.

Tottenham Hotspurs were eliminated from the group stage as they lost 2-1 against Monaco.
