Rangers International FC of Enugu, on Sunday, said it would put some players on transfer after its current pre-season camping in Benin.
Rangers’ Media Director, Foster Chime, told the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN in Enugu that the list of the affected players would be made known immediately by the technical crew after the pre-season camping.
The Flying Antelopes commenced a three-week pre-season camping on November 5 to prepare ahead of the 2016/2017 football season and, especially, for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League.
Chime, however, did not disclose the number of players likely to be placed on transfer; but said it was left for the technical crew to decide.
“Some players would be placed on transfer based on their ineffectiveness in the team, others may be on medical ground and redundancy,” he said.
The media director said that the pre-season camping had been ongoing without hitch.
“Everybody is getting along in the camp; both the technical crew and players.
“The newly invited six players from other African clubs are getting along as well,” he said.
Rangers first match in the 2016/2017 CAF Champions League may take place in the first week of December.
The club will also defend its 2015/2016 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) title and participate in the 2016/2017 Federation Cup.
