Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has confirmed that Alex Iwobi is fully back from injury and may feature in Saturday’s Premier League clash against Southampton at the Emirates.
Iwobi cupped a thigh injury during the first game of the season against Liverpool. He has since missed games for club and country.
The Nigeria international missed the Gunners last two league games against Leicester and Watford and was also unavailable for the African Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania.
But having returned to training earlier in the week, Wenger has given the all clear for Iwobi to star against the Saints.
“Iwobi is back in the squad. The only one who is not ready is Aaron Ramsey,” Wenger told reporters, according to arsenal.com.
“He is on the a good way, but not completely ready for Southampton or Tuesday.”
The return of Iwobi will definitely be cheering news for the Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr, who is expected to include the 20-year old in his squad for next month’s World Cup qualifier against Zambia.
