A lot of Nigerians, still basking in the victory of the just completed 2013 African Cup of Nations, have chosen Chelsea of England forward, Victor Moses, as the best player of the tournament.

With strikes that granted Nigeria success at crucial games of the tournament, leading to the eventual success of the Super Eagles, Victor Moses, has become the darling of soccer lovers in Nigeria and arguably of all Nigerians.

In an online poll conducted on the PREMIUM TIMES Facebook page, Victor Moses got an overwhelming 70 per cent of all votes, giving him, in a landslide manner, the title of “most outstanding player.”

Ahmed Musa came in a rather far second with about 20 per cent of the votes while Sunday Mba scored less than 10 per cent. Mikel Obi, Emmanuel Emenike and Efe Ambrose, all secured very few votes.

Victor Moses, who opted to play for his home country, Nigeria, rather than his adopted country, England, shone brightly at the three weeks tournament in South Africa. He had played for England at the junior level.

Moses was also named the Samsung Fair Player of the tournament.
