The two major contenders in the forthcoming governorship election in Edo State, Godwin Obaseki of the All Progressives Congress, and Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the Peoples Democratic Party, are to square up against each other in a governorship debate.
The debate is on Sunday, September 4, and both Mr. Obaseki and Mr. Ize-Iyamu have confirmed their participation, according to a statement issued on Friday by its organizers, EiE.
EiE is co-hosting the event with Channels television.
Two other candidates – Onaiwu Osaro and Amos Areloegbe of the All Progressives Grand Alliance and Labour Party respectively – have also accepted to take part in the debate which will be shown live by 7pm on Channels Television.
Topics to be debated are security, unemployment, and the economy.
