Sokoto spends N500m on health facilities

The State Health Commissioner says the exercise is aimed at boosting the morale of the health workers. 

The Sokoto State Commissioner for Health, Ahmed Aliyu, on Tuesday said the state government had purchased medical facilities worth N500 million for the Murtala Mohammed General hospital, Sokoto.

Mr. Aliyu said in Sokoto that the facilities were being installed at the various units of the hospital.

He said, “As soon as landscaping is completed, the hospital will be inaugurated to ensure qualitative healthcare delivery for the people of the state. Already, a training programme has been designed for health workers to acquaint them with the modern facilities being installed at the hospital.”

He said the exercise was aimed at boosting the morale of the health workers to ensure effective service delivery.

He urged people in the state to inform the government on the outbreak of any strange disease in their communities for prompt action.
