The NSCDC also arrested three persons in connection with the theft of the adulterated diesel.

The NSDC disclosed that three suspects were arrested during a routine patrol. The drivers of the two cars took to their heels to evade arrest.
The Public Relations Officer of the Command, Balogun Kayode, said the suspects were arrested with the vehicles at a spot near the old tollgate on the Ore-Lagos expressway.
Mr. Kayode gave the registration number of the truck as XB 6038 BGD; and the two cars, a Volvo with registration number FF 129 AAA, and a Toyota Carina registered BE 399 KSF.
He said the suspects would soon be arraigned in court.
The NSCDC Commandant, Waheed Popoola, lamented the situation, describing it as the activities of economic saboteurs in disrupting oil operations and stealing of petroleum products in the region. He urged residents of the area to assist the agency in curbing their activities.
Mr. Popoola pledged “total war against the saboteurs of the nation’s economy”. He urgent residents of the state to provide relevant information to security agencies in order to curb crude oil theft.
