SOKAPU says Namadi Sambo imposed the Nuhu Bajoga as the state Deputy Governor.

The Youth Wing of the Coalition of Southern Kaduna Peoples Union, SOKAPU, has rejected the nomination of Nuhu Bajoga as the Deputy Governor of the State.

SOKAPU said the nomination of Mr. Bajoga was imposed by the Nigerian Vice-President, Namadi Sambo, and is against the interest of Southern Kaduna people.

The Youth Wing Secretary of the group, Nasiru Jagaba, said southern Kaduna Elders want Mr. Bajoga to remain as party chairman.

“Let the vice president Namadi Sambo know that SOKAPU is the PDP (Peoples Democratic Party) in southern Kaduna and we are against Bajoga’s appointment as deputy governor,” the group said.

“Ambassador Nuhu Bajoga’s nomination is against the interest of Southern Kaduna people,” he said.

Though Mr. Bajoga is from Southern Kaduna, Mr. Jagaba said Southern Kaduna people prefer a younger person to be the deputy to Mr. Yero, “not a 63-year-old man”.

“We believe the governor selected Bajuga on the advice of his boss the vice president, Namadi Sambo,” they alleged.

The group told the state governor, Ramalan Yero, not to allow himself be controlled by external forces, particularly the vice president.

The 63-year-old Jaba born politician was, before his nomination, the Chairman of the PDP in the state.

He was nominated by Mr. Yero for the number two position on Monday.
