300 PDP members defect to CPC in Katsina.

The defectors said they were members of the ruling PDP

Three hundred members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Gurzar Kuka village of Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State have defected to the Congress of Progressive Change, CPC.

A member of the House of Representatives, (Safana/Danmusa/Batsari federal constituency), Gambo Musa, in company of the Danmusa Local Government CPC Chairman, Tukur Maigoro, received the defectors who are from Danmusa B ward of the Local Government Area.

“We receive you as full members of our great party, the CPC, and assure you of equal treatment with all members of the party,” the lawmaker said. “We are happy that the people of the constituency have started to realise what is important and pray that more people will defect to CPC in the area.”

In his address, Mr. Maigoro commended the new arrivals for joining the party.

He also urged CPC members to strengthen their support for the party so as to ensure its success in future elections.

Earlier, the spokesperson of the defectors, Awwalu Gurza, said they had good reasons to defect to the CPC.
