The Federal Ministry of Health says it has placed medical experts on standby to beef up services at the Nnamdi Azikwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, for worshippers injured in the Ozubulu church attack, should the need arise.

The Minister of Health, Isaac Adewole, gave this indication in a statement by the ministry’s Director of Media and Public Relations, Boade Akinola, on Monday in Abuja.

The minister, who described the incident as shocking, assured the Chief Medical Director of the hospital of immediate federal government support as soon as such was required.

He commended the doctors at the hospital for being proactive in their response to the emergency.

Mr. Adewole commiserated with the government and people of Anambra on the unfortunate incident.

The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that the early Sunday morning attack on St. Philip’s Catholic Church, Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of the state, claimed 11 lives with 18 others injured.

Meanwhile, Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra has vowed to apprehend those behind the attack.

Did you forget to take your pills or you’re high on some nasty drugs?!

Those who died were murdered in cold blood (and in the most gruesome way) by your devilish gun wielding brothers!! How did Nigeria come in here? Are you having problems with comprehension?

May the souls of those who lost their lives in this tragedy rest in peace!!!

The loss of a single person is a very big loss, let alone the loss of several people. This is a mammoth loss. I think, there’s a need for we Africans to start seeing human lives as being sancrosant. May God console every family that lost anyone in the incidence. More so, from The depth of my heart, I wish those that got injured, divine and speedy recovery.
