‎Apostle Suleman Controversy: Father of woman in sex scandal speaks

Apostle Suleiman Johnson
Apostle Suleiman Johnson

The father of Canada-based Nigerian, Stephanie Otobo, has denied her claim that the general overseer of the Omega Fire Ministries, Johnson Suleman, went to his house for introduction as her suitor.

Benson Otobo also said the controversy between his daughter and Mr. Suleman came to him as “a huge shock,” adding that he knew nothing about the entire scenario.

Mr. Otobo spoke at a joint telephone interview with PREMIUM TIMES and other journalists in Abuja facilitated by Mr. Suleman. He said he was speaking from Warri, Delta State.

Mr. Otobo said there was no formal introduction of the cleric to him by his daughter.

“Not at all; Suleman does not even know where I live,” he said.

Mr. Otobo also gave an indication that all was not well between him and his daughter.

“I don’t know how this happened, I was shocked to hear the news. Right now as I speak, we are at loggerheads because I saw her picture on the internet via whatsapp, and the way she was dressed, and I saw her tattoos and all that; I cautioned her. Then two whatsap messages that she sent to me, she was telling me all sorts of things, she said I am not her father anymore.

“So for a girl telling her father things like that, then I don’t know how you can expect me to be involved in something that concerns her.”

Mr. Otobo also said he had been separated from his daughter’s mother for almost 30 years.

“I have divorced her mother almost 30 years now. She grew up with the mother; she was very small when I divorced her mother. What happened is a case of like mother like daughter”, said Mr. Otobo.

When PREMIUM TIMES sought further clarification from Ms. Otobo, she said her earlier statement through her lawyer, Festus Keyamo, that Mr. Suleman took drinks to her family to conduct a formal introduction was inaccurate.

Asked to give the details of the said introduction, Ms. Otobo said it happened at the pastor’s office in the church’s premises at Auchi, Edo state.

“Not at our house; he invited me and my mother to Auchi, because he does all night every last Friday of the month at Auchi. We went there, me my mother, my siblings. After the service, nobody sees him, but we went there to see him and he gave us N50, 000. So that made me think everything was real.

She also corroborated her father’s explanation regarding the divorce.

“My father and mother are divorced. I actually grew up knowing that they were separated,” she said.

She however said her father was aware of her ‘relationship’ with the cleric and that he had prayed for her when she told him about Mr. Suleman’s alleged blackmail.

Ms. Otobo also said her father was angry that the media published information about her personal life alleging that he had taken money from the pastor.

The woman had alleged that Mr. Suleman promised her marriage, but abandoned her, after she got pregnant.

The pastor has since denied the allegation, adding that he had never met with Ms. Otobo.

““I have divorced her mother almost 30 years now. She grew up with the
mother; she was very small when I divorced her mother. What happened is a
case of like mother like daughter”, said Mr. Otobo.”
Yet on the arraignment sheet she is 23 years old

    • FineBoy

      More confusion

      • Say the truth

There is no confusion at all. You are the one confusing yourself. This girl is a blackmailer who thought bringing Keyamo in would give credibility to her story. Keyamo is simply a charge and bail lawyer who issued an inaccurate statement of behalf of his ‘client’. That has put the credibility of their testimony into doubt.

        • FineBoy

          Has she blackmailed you?

          Why Suleiman?

          Is there a hidden truth?

          • AlBsure23

Because Suleiman had step on the feet of northern cabals.

    • Ajayi Ifayemi

      Nice observation.

    • El Patron

Many people reduce their age, nothing new there

    • Iskacountryman

my child na bendel…if dem no go italy…dem go go canada…dat woman pass 30 small…

    • AlBsure23

Can you say with certainty Buhari’s age?

      • MaskedPhantom

Or OBJ’s or Sannsouci’s or anyone else’s for that matter. That whoring b!tch looks nearer 40 years than 20.

  • Mark Benny

them just wan pour sand sand inside this Apostle garri, make i dey observe sha

  • marc umeh

If she is pregnant , they should go for a court ordered partenity test. Why the fuss ?

    • Fadama

According to her, the pregnancy has been terminated through a concoction Pastor Suleiman gave her to drink.

      • Patriot

Pregnancy terminated? That could be part of the scheme to make sure the pastor pays dearly for recently calling on Christians to defend themselves. If he is innocent, God will see him thru

        • Iskacountryman

dis woman wey de look for meal ticket no go terminate pregnancy …lai lai…

          • Fadama

Lol. You never can tell. If she had been at the bigger picture of marriage, then terminating the pregnancy was a viable option. She stands to benefit more financially from marriage.

        • Fadama

How about if he is guilty? I am not ruling that out at all.

      • marc umeh

        Oh , that’s too bad.
        End of story !!!

        • Fadama

It is. I hope we get more information to enable us thread out the most accurate situation in all these between the Pastor and Miss Otobo.

  • Ajayi Ifayemi

I am not sure I can attach much importance to this man’s statement. 1). She claims she divorced her mother 30 years ago, yet the lady is only 23 years old. 2). If this man does not know that his daughter lives in Canada, how is he going to know or be in the picture if she is planning to marry someone. Obviously if the girl mentions family I have a feeling it does not include this man who does not know where she lives. You see this is what happens when you have an absentee father like this Rev. Otobo. In any case, i really believe the girl is a blackmailer though, but I also believe the Apostle Suleman is a scumbag. Blackmails are for those who have skeletons in their cupboards.

    • El Patron

Many people reduce their age, nothing new there.. However i have to agree with you though, there is no smoke without fire. I would be very very surprised if this girl is just blatantly falsely accusing the pastor of sleeping with her. Good thing the case has gone to court where the accuser and the accused will be under oath to tell the truth. Interesting times ahead

  • Fadama

It appears Mr. Otobo has been seriously compromised. The lady in question also seems to come from a troubled family. Finally, Pastor Suleiman’s penis has put him in trouble. They are all simply in a mess.

    • Sam

How are we sure this is not an ARRANGED father?

      • Say the truth

The girl never said that the father was not real. She also confirmed that Keysmo’s statement purported to be from her was ‘inaccurate’. The questions is how did Keyamo come about his story. According to her the man gave them 50000 and ‘that made her believe everything was real’. What was real? She also concluded that was an ‘introduction’. Remember Keyamo said the pastor went with drinks and other things to the ‘father’ that never existed for introduction. Suddenly the family house has changed to church office for ‘introduction’. What about pregnancy story? According to Keyamo after the pregnancy saga the lady simply returned to Canada after recording a so called confession with another Pastor in warri. She came to Nigeria to withdraw money and was arrested. You guys need to know the whole truth before you judge. You are a Fulani herdsmen sympathizer and you happy to blackmail the preacher. Keyamo and the girl may be playing with Omega fire and I fear for them.

        • Sam

I am not a Fulani, but you know anything is possible in Naija.

Imagine the man divorcing her mothet 30 years ago and the girl is 23, how does that add up

          • Okey Agugua

He never said 30yrs ago. He said about 30yrs ago which means less than 30yrs ago. Bros you are educated to know the difference.

          • Iskacountryman

            na slow acting sperm…

          • MaskedPhantom

            Lol

          • Manuel Tobby

Now I can conclude that you have a comprehension problem. 30years and about 30 years ago are not same. Please brush up your English grammar skills.

      • Agho Sunny Orhue

How are we sure if this is not also an arranged girl to blackmail this man of God

        • amazing2012

A man of God or a man of gosh ? Someone who can declare to kill fellow humans instead of forgiveness as Jesus taught.
Thou shall not kill, but the man you called man of God tell his followers to kill

          • Temitope Temiloluwa

Yes,to kill ur murderous families(herdsmen) . U are so deluded

          • amazing2012

“thou shall not kill” is a bible commandment not my statement. So it is your bible that is deluded and perhaps your God dumbed to such commandment to you.

          • amazing2012

…according to which teaching ? Jesus or Devil ?

          • Right Minded

You are dumb. So if your killer brothers come to my house, and i have the capacity to defend myself, i should just fold my arms and allow them to kill me. Then i should now wait for God to judge them? YOu are as dumb as your killer foolani brothers.

          • amazing2012

It is not me that state “thou shall not kill” it is your bible. So it is your bible that is dumb to have such commandment.

          • Right Minded

You are cursed today, for speaking evil of the word of God!

          • amazing2012

Read your comment, it is you that mocked the word of God. I quote the bible and you ignorant “….then i should now wait for God to judge them?”.

          • Francis Agbali

May God send Fulani Herdsmen to your house and may you sit down and not act to defend your family. When a thief is caught, what does your bible say, He shall be made to pay how many folds? No, he shall be forgiven eh? You think being a follower of Christ is a license to foolishness – ride on. Don’t take thou shall not kill out of context – else every Christian who is in the soldier and goes to war should be sent back home. Actually, incase you are the Fulani Herdsman, or a Thief who goes after other peoples lives hoping that thou shalt not kill will cover you from being killed, the truth is you are already dead from the time you decided to go kill others who have not come after you. That is Karma which is shaped in the words, GIVE AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN UNTO YOU – GOOD MEASURE, PRESSED DOWN, SHAKEN TOGETHER AND RUNNING OVER SHALL MEN POUR OUT TO YOU…

        • Mufu Ola

Which man of God? Are u not a man of God yourself?

      • AlBsure23

The girl concur the story from her father. So, how could you start thinking of ARRANGED father?

        • Veronica Osunwa

This girl is a devil incarnate and in financial difficultly, seeking fame and money. Very sorry for you because your end is near, you need to repent now and confess your sins or face Go’s judgment. Apostle Johnson Suleiman is innocent.

        • Francis Agbali

God bless you. The problem here is that most of these people do not even know how to fact check things. The girl agreed at last that the introduction did not happen in their family house and also has never said that the Father came with her to the Pastors office. Her mother has not claimed taking the said money to her divorced husband. Yet cheap minded people ask questions and insinuate that the man has been bribed. So far, there has been consistency on the part of the man’s testimony and large inconsistencies and reversals on the part of the girl and her mentors. Something is fishy here and Keyamo for me has laid off some clue that no body is riding on. Why did he mention the Fulani Herdsmen issue in this letter. Looks like, the real grievance could not be held and was vented out in the last paragraph of his letter.

      • Fadama

        That is a possibility.

      • Manuel Tobby

        Arranged girl u mean. ?

    • Agho Sunny Orhue

Why will u say Apostle Suleman penis has put him in problem. Is there any clear evidence? No. There is a mere talk to bring down the name n image of this great man of God.

      • Fadama

Why wouldn’t I? I have not taken any conclusive stand yet. But I wouldn’t rule out any either (guilty or not). He hasn’t produced any facts beyond doubt to prove his innocence. Until then, I have a liberty to lean on any side of the argument I find most convincing.

        • donJanuzaj

In the court of law(unlike the courts of personal opinion), The Burden of Proof lies with the Accuser.

        • Manuel Tobby

Mumu, it’s the accuser that produces evidence. Please get some knowledge and humility. You are both arrogant and ignorant.

          • Fadama

Get lost. I have no time for sewage rats.

    • Patriot

      May God forgive you

      • Fadama

Amen. I suggest you seek forgiveness as well. And most importantly you seek for common sense and a lose from the bondage of most Nigerian Pastors.

        • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

Bruv, there was no need to personalise your rejoinder.

          • Fadama

I believe he deserve the rejoinder in that format. I couldn’t think of any other way to be more polite.

          • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

Fair point, I just wouldn’t have put the bit about common sense in.

But hey, I have no right to seek to lecture you either.

          • hajiya tunsj soyemi(mai suya)

            How far my boo.
            Hasn’t buhari called you yet?

          • Impulse400

too late for that. you already did, headmaster.

  • Evangelist Felix Itsuokor

I don’t think Pastor Johnson should answer or part and lot in this matter because this is absolute fabrication and trial of the time. Pastor Johnson should ignore them and continue with the gospel. However, the pastor should stop prosperity preaching and start preparing people for heaven. He should start preaching holiness and righteousness. What they are saying may not be true, but brother Johnson must be careful and be more close to God if he is. God bless.

  • Patriot

I like Keyamo but when I remember the case of Fryo, Omisore, and Hilton hotel in relation to the case of Chief Bola Ige, I have to think twice or thrice b4 giving any credence to whatever he puts forward.
Without exonerating the man of God, experience has shown that women by nature can go to any length to bring anybody down as long as there’s money in it for them. Many women easily agree to be used as tools of destruction through frame up, set up, blackmail, backstab, betrayal, slander, deception and all sort of ways. They can sell anybody including their husbands for money and material. If pastor Suleiman needs a wife, does it sound believable that he would leave all the decent ladies at his disposal and go to a stripper? God knows the truth, and He will reveal it soon

    • Temitope Temiloluwa

      On point

    • Right Minded

God bless you! The DSS and APC may not be far from this issue. Keyamo has become a propaganda and blackmail lawyer for APC. Thast how he makes his dirty money.

      • Francis Agbali

        Absolutely on point

  • Prince Duke

The girl’s father is obviously very irresponsible. He says: like mother like daughter. If that is true, then why did he not fight for custody of the daughter when he was divorcing the mother; did he remain single after he sent her out?

Obviously, men who call women butches are dogs themselves. Did he expect the daughter to embrace him when he called to caution her; is it after 30 yrs he now wants to train the girl?

Meanwhile, this twist in the story has made all allegations very weak & Keyamo’s integrity very slack. I smell a big rat here.

    • Iskacountryman

who will give you custody of a two year old gal?

      • Impulse400

        Mohammed our mai-guard.

        • Iskacountryman

de pikin wey im get with madam…

          • Impulse400

            Shege yaro fa… Dan Iska!

    • Shawn

if the father doesnt know pastor suleman how did he suddenly facilitate the phone conversation with premium times ? i smell money changing hands here, you cant trust these pastors, if they can fake miracles what cant they do ?

    • Arise O Compatriot!

Thanks for your wise comment. However, what about the near nude pic of the pastor she posted yesterday? Don’t judge Keyamo yet until…. Don’t forget, it’s the pastor that arranged for the lady’s father to speak- and animosity is obvious. The lady sure knows the pastor very well even from the pastor’s statement.

      • Francis Agbali

Near nude pictures you mean. Give me your face picture and checkout your many looks you can post online tomorrow. Those behind this saga are able to do so many things. My single unanswered question is the last paragraph of the Keyamo’s letter. What has this case got to do with the Fulani Herdsmen’s case? Why was it mentioned in this letter?

        • Manuel Tobby

Guys are here are too uneducated, they have never seen photo shop software b4 in thr life.

    • Impulse400

A woman is in a better position to raise and train a female child, than a man, unless that woman who is morally bankrupt. You cannot blame the father for letting her go with her mother. Then again, you cannot blame the father for condemning his ex-wife when you don’t know the details of their separation. What if he was emotionally scared by her and has still not forgotten…? 30 years later and look at the mess the “butches” daughter brings to him in Warri, all the way from Canada. Why shouldn’t he lament that his daughter is taking after her mother’s personality…?

  • zacchaeus Akinleye

Let the Apostle take a DNA test to prove the pregnancy is not a result of his sexual activity. Simplicita!

    • Iskacountryman

      which pregnancy?

  • umar ardo

DNA can prove whether or not there was ever bodily contact between the two adults. Let both of them take DNA tests; its that simple.

  • DNA

She had said she ‘lost’ the pregnancy after a drink offered by the pastor…

    • Kay Soyemi (Esq.)

      Oh shoot…then case dismissed.

All else is in the realm of speculation or credibility.

  • gosgos

    Lol at your last parargraph!!!.
Tell me,was that an attempt to write Igbo???

  • David Adeniran

Some things mentioned in this report are very suspicious to me and make it look like THE MORE YOU LOOK THE LESS YOU SEE. Also it seems there are far more than what is being revealed on this matter yet.

“Mr. Otobo spoke at a joint telephone interview with PREMIUM TIMES and other journalists in Abuja facilitated by Mr. Suleman. He said he was speaking from Warri, Delta State.”

My poser is why would Pastor Suleman facilitate a telephone interview with a father who the child never grew up with? Who will ever take the father’s evidence as credible knowing fully well the gap between him and his daughter?

The other thing that gets me confused is the lady’s attempt at rewriting the story of her purported introduction. Hear her
    please:

“When PREMIUM TIMES sought further clarification from Ms.
So that made me think everything was real.”

As far as I am concerned it would seem both this lady and the Pastor have not disclosed the WHOLE TRUTH. I may be wrong but from all this news report, I couldn’t have held otherwise.

    • George

You are Islamic terrorist who hates Pastors.

The girl first said he took the pastor to her father for marriage blessing and now the pastor facilitated the public interview of the same father for the whole world to hear from him direct you said he isn’t credible.

      You people are cursed.

      • Kay

And you Mr. Geroge are the Anti-Christ

      • David Adeniran

Illiteracy is your problem. A thousand of the devils inside you cannot curse me. You have no godliness in you but an hypocrite. Otherwise you would have known that my comment is not an indictment but an observation.

        • Impulse400

Insanity and manic lunacy is his problem.

          • David Adeniran

Its good that you have now identified your lunacy. So many imbeciles on rampage online!

          • Impulse400

            “My Lunacy”…? Why did i even bother…

    • Impulse400

She was spoiled by her mother. She has no proper upbringing. If she truly came to Nigeria to see Pastor Sulieman, it may have been for spiritual help. How she chose to latch onto the guy in her mind can only be resolved through specialized observation.

    • Francis Agbali

David, I like you for reasoning but I think something is skewed about your reasoning. One, the allegation said that the girl claimed Suleman went to do an introduction with the girl’s father. So it made sense that the man should be called to answer what he knows about the said introduction. Then suddenly, the girl then claims the introduction money was given to her and her mother in the office. David, is that how you do introductions in most Nigerian cultures including your own place? You got it absolutely right to that point then you added a conclusion which illogically indicted the Pastor as not saying the whole truth. If you said so on the issue of why the Pastor would facilitate a call to or by the father of the girl, does it not sound logical that the one to who an introduction was quoted to have been made should be called to testify? And you do agree that the girl also finally agreed that it was not that kind of introduction. This shifting grounds are clear evidence on the girls side of inconsistences. One lie by a STRIPPER should be enough to make your senses correct. Do you know the level of depravity it takes for a woman to go naked in public? That is who you are talking about. When that kind of girl gets money from some politicians who are interested in the issue of the ‘Fulani herdsmen’ saga, you can imagine what she can do. I am still wondering why Keyamo’s lawyers would add that sentence concerning the Fulani herdsmen in the last paragraph of the Otobo letter? Have you asked yourself – as a thinker that I think you are?

      • David Adeniran

        Thank you.

        • Manuel Tobby

You are a very humble man. Please keep this up.

  • Julius

smh..this is what money does to people. The man has been paid off to testify against his own daughter. What a shame !

    • Impulse400

WHAT…?!!! Really…?!!! Did you facilitate the bribe to the father of the fake bride…? It is comments like this that makes it impossible to feel sympathy for Nigerians like you.

    • Francis Agbali

When people lose their minds it is easy to see it. How do you tell me that a sane girl and her mother will walk into the office of a Pastor whose wife is well known in the same place to talk of getting married to him. And in your culture, Julius, so they send mothers with introduction money from the suitors office to the father of the bride eh? Demons at work! What was in their mind when they came, assuming they actually did. That they will over throw the wife and become the Mama of the ministry from being a stripper eh. There is one Devils that is obvious for now, and for now that is not Suleman – it is the one who can openly declare that she is a Stripper. Maybe people do not know who a stripper is – NAKED DANCER around an ASHTEROTH POLE. So many things are wrong with these claims. The letter they attached also ended up with the issue of Suleman mandating his members to kill Fulani herdsmen around his church. How are the issues related if not their stupidity showing off where the real issue is coming from. I don’t live with Suleman, I can not speak for him, but I hold him in very high respect and in the giving situation, even if it is true – which I believe is not true, I will still stand for the man. The girl in question is an agent of the mischievous kingdom of her father (not the biological father now) – the devil.

      • Julius

If you go by the history of people like the Rev or the so called big men in Nigeria, it’s not hard for me taking the side of the woman till otherwise A man caught his wife in bed with their pastor not too long ago in FL while another one was caught sleeping with a mother and her daughter. So, please, don’t tell me I’m off base in my reasoning.

        • Otile

See what everybody is saying about your deteriorating mental health. Seek help soon.

          • Julius

Funny, a fag is talking about what others are saying about somebody else. Perv, you got jokes !

    • Factsay

APC money has damaged your mentality beyond repair. You can see you don’t reason well anymore. See help ooo b4 ur level reach that of the girl

    • Otile

Allah. When did you deteriorate to this level? You now sound senseless and crazy. Seek a psychiatrist fast.

      • Julius

Faggot, from the day that you started sucking and taking dick up your ass !. This is a topic you shouldn’t even try getting involved with since a perv, fag like you will never have a child.

        • Otile

          Abdul,
I did not know you are this vulgar, so your mental illness has affected all facets of your being. Terrible

          • Julius

You , a pervert talking about mental illness? Let me ask you this, do you think you are mentally stable as a man sleeping with another man ? You are too easy ! Again, you are a fish in a barrel and you should know how you gonna end up.

        • Manuel Tobby

Bros with your vulgar diction ,I am sure you and that Stephanie are both strippers . This explains your wild and blind defence.

    • August

Look at what she said now “Not at our house; he invited me and my mother to Auchi, because he does all night every last Friday of the month at Auchi. We went there, me my mother, my siblings. After the service, nobody sees him, but we went there to see him and he gave us N50, 000. (“So that made me think everything was real”). How can you think it was real, haven’t you help somebody and she begins to think u love her? Think about that

      • Manuel Tobby

The stripper huzzler is his friend so he will believe anything even ridiculous and contradictory statement.

    • Manuel Tobby

Yes money is so powerful, as you have also been paid to keep on writing rubbish despite dearth of evidence. To you a screen shot is the evidence of sexual relationship.

  • Impulse400

Was there ever a relationship or did she make it all up…?

  • Impulse400

He has denied ever meeting the cherry tree. How is he supposed to taste her fruit…?

  • Impulse400
