The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, has disagreed with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), on the number of people killed in the Southern Kaduna crises.

The Catholic Archdiocese of Kafanchan had alleged that the unrest in Southern Kaduna had claimed over 808 lives, in 53 villages in the area.

But Mr. Idris disputed the claim in Abuja on Sunday at the new year dinner organised by the Nigeria Police Force for its personnel.

He however did not say how many people were killed or injured in the violence.

He stressed the need for religious, community and political leaders to be patriotic in their endeavors for peace to reign in the country.

The IG cautioned Nigerians to avoid unnecessary tension which could lead to destruction of lives and property.

He said Nigerians had no other country than Nigeria, hence the need to do those things that would bring peace and unity to the country.

Mr. Idris advised Nigerians to live in peace with one another in spite of religious and ethic differences.

He commended officers and men of the force for their commitment to providing security to all Nigerians across the country.

Mr. Idris restated the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to providing adequate security without bias to all sections of the country.

CAN seems to have a terror blueprint which it is imposing on Nigeria in order to achieve its political objectives.
But they should reflect: whoever rules by the sword shall also die by the sword.

    • Assoc Middlebelt Ethnicnationa

Abdullahi Musa, Yourself and the Fulani murderers are the ones who have a political agenda because you are the aggressors. You have been killing with the sword so you will die by the sword. How could you overturn facts upside down. You kill then call your victims trouble shooters?

      • JAMJOB44

But you and your people voted for change undermining what would be the next line of action after electing the dullard. #Biafrans have rejected the contraption and will reject it totally. Tell your people that only Biafra restoration will stop their quest for Islamization agenda on your people and your land.

      • Abdullah Musa

One will not blame you if you are blinded by faith and ethnicity from seeing the treachery against you.
I based my accusation on a recent news showing pictures of two people arrested over killings in Southern Kaduna, they were Christians.
American leadership was willing to sacrifice few thousands of its citizens in order to have pretext of invading Afghanistan subsequently Iraq, Libya and so forth.
Even if southern Kaduna becomes a different country, you still need to be at peace with your neighbors.
I am sorry to say, CAN leadership, under foreign influence, is using you as guinea pigs.
While you die in ethnic clashes, they are soaring the skies in private jets.

        • Assoc Middlebelt Ethnicnationa

Despite the peace pact signed recently between Miyetti Allah and Southern Kaduna people for everyone to live in peace, suspected Fulani herdsmen Tuesday invaded Sunji/Kagoro community in Kaura local government area of Kaduna state.

DAILY POST reports that there was a strong resistance by members of the communities and security personnel when the herdsmen invaded the area. (Culled from DAILY POST, 03/;an/17)

          • Abdullah Musa

It is our prayer that whoever is behind this evil may they be exposed.
We are glad the community is cooperating with security personnel.

  • Assoc Middlebelt Ethnicnationa

What does the IG want to hide? Has he any facts about the Fulani murderers? He is guilty of gross dereliction of duty and should be ashamed of himself. How many more southern Kaduna natives must die before he goes for the murders? Nigeria is being turned into a zoo by you people.

  • marc umeh

He is disputing CANs but he has no facts or figures. CAN should be quiet because this is the only country we have ?
    Na whaaaooooh !

    • wode

CAN should not be quiet, but the leaders should be responsible enough to avoid utterances that are not based on facts and are capable of aggravating situation. Grandstanding and rabble-rousing are not qualities of responsible leaders. There are better ways to engage Government and its agencies to action. I think that’s the point of the IG.

In the part of the Government, most especially the Security agencies, they need to ensure that things like the senseless killing of human being should be prevented and people properly protected. The issue of killing in (Southern) Kaduna has been there for more than a decade. Why is it so difficult to properly police the area and other flash points of violence?

      • marc umeh

You are asking the same questions. I have no answers.

  • Otile

Is Alhaji Ibrahim Idris disputing that the Fulanis have not killed enough people in Southern Kaduna?

  • Mamman Bako

So this IGP didn’t offer to investigate the claim but dismissed it?! This does not help one to conclude he’s got an undisclosed agenda but also concludes his utter incompetence and insensitiveness.

  • Lanre

This is okay. I saw this during the rule of Buhari, Babangida and Abacha in the ’80’s. Nothing has changed. I only pity the retards who voted for Buhari. Keep thinking Nigeria will get any better and I have an ocean to sell you.

  • Dxtraordinaire

This is too bad this is genocide We are at war

  • Decimator

Mr. Idris restated the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to providing adequate security without bias to all sections of the country.PT

And the same Fulani National, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, is here busy with his competent police force tallying the number of dead bodies in a crime
perpetrated by his fellow Nationals of the Larger Fulani ethnicity, spread around Niger, Chad, Cameroon, Mali, Senegal etc. that they are inviting into the Nigerian Enclave in mass to come in to kill their citizens and occupy their and, as if a lesser number of dead bodies reduces in any way the heinousness of such unwarranted crime by his Fulani Folks.

The same Mr. Ibrahim Idris that set up a special police committee to stamp out Cattle Rustling (Cattle Stealing), now sees no immediate need to establish a special police squad to cub this menace of his fellow Fulani Folks.

Should the inspector general of police as he is called not be using such a forum to present to the citizens of the Nigerian Enclave the number of their people involved in such heinous crime that are under their custody or they have brought to book?

Now the cycle is complete. The Fulani governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El- Rufai is paying his Fulani Folks for their crime, which does not attract the attention or comment of the Fulani president Mohammadu Buhari. At the same time the Fulani minister of interior Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau does not deem military intervention to disarm them necessary since according to him it is a police affair, while the Fulani Inspector General of police Mr. Ibrahim Kpotun Idris is here tallying the number of dead bodies instead of bringing them to Book. And to crown it all the
Fulani chief of army staff Mr. Tukur Buratai is planning to establish through the military of the Nigerian Enclave he is heading, a nationwide Grazing reserve for them in all military cantonments.

Citizens of the Nigerian enclave know it now that Mohammadu Buhari and his folks of the larger Fulani Nation have declared war on you. Wake up from your slumber. Thanks
