A man identified as Orji has jumped into the Lagos Lagoon, PREMIUM TIMES has gathered.

The man, who was reportedly driven to the spot by a driver, jumped into the Lagoon via the Third Mainland bridge.

Mr. Orji, identified as a medical doctor, reportedly ordered his driver to pull over, dropped off from his Nissan SUV car with registration number LND 476 EE and jumped into the Lagos lagoon.

A witness told PREMIUM TIMES that the incident happened at about 4:50 p.m. around Adekunle axis of the Third Mainland bridge.

When contacted Sunday evening, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, said the vehicle and the driver have been taken to Adeniji Adele Police Station for further investigations.

Adesina Tiamiyu, LASEMA general manager, however, said that officials of the
agency had been deployed to the scene of the incident.

“Effort is ongoing to recover his body from the lagoon,” the LASEMA boss said.

        • Otile

Yoruba Moslem, why do you revel in evil and misfortune?

          • Right Minded

The guy isnt a Yoruba muslim but a dirty smelly foolani parasitic muslim. I have known him for long..his real name is Mukhtar Tijjani

    • Something is wrong upstairs

    • Observer

Better curse… When they are full of deceit and betray

  • Kamal

    Kolomentality of d igbos

  • Wale Bolodeoku

My sincere sympathy to his family and loved ones. Depression is a real killer, and in this case may have been responsible. Please don’t ignore anyone around you who shows symptoms of it. To the horrendously ignorant and morally bankrupt who can afford to make light of this unfortunate incidence or read ethnic meaning into it, shame on you and on those who did a poor job raising you.

    • Ajaniku

It is not depression. This is frustration from the bad economy and a direct consequence of Buhari’s failure. Perhaps the man is sick and has no money to go for treatment in a London hospital and pay hotel bills for 54 days.

      • Let’s call a spade a spade. Nothing under this sun can justice suicide, what frustration? there are many people out there at the time of his suicide that have nothing to eat for breakfast not to talk of where to lay their head. The man is a medical doctor and probably a middle-class so what is justification in killing himself maybe because of debt. In all, may God forgive him and repose his soul. Suicide is a sin against God and humanity

        • BABUYANMA

He has to work two jobs to pay the bride price.

      • Julius

Be serious, was he the only man living in the country ? This has something to do with mental illness.

      • oyoko

he can be more frustrated than his driver behind the wheel. we should learn to manage our situation. i wish his soul eternal rest.

      • BABUYANMA

        The victim Ibolas?. Retarded people

      • Mufu Ola

U’re a complete dullard for linking his suicide to Buhari

  • McDoe

Yoroba Juju in action. But why are the Yorubas wicked and jealous
like this? Only in Yoruba land do things as bizarre like this become a frequent
occurrence. Because the Igbos are hard working they (Yorubas) go after them
with fetish means so they can inherit their hard earned wealth. Why kill a man
because of his SUV and millions? Now they made him jump by himself with remote control and
then turn round to accuse him of jumping by himself. How can a man Jump into lagoon by himself? Is this not

the same Lagoon of that Oba of Lagos?

    • Observer

Baby factory in display… If ibo mab shiy for body, dem go say na Yoruba turn water water shit for una bowel. Yeye dey smell

    • Black or White

    • BABUYANMA

The great doctor is now living in the Lagoon as suggested by the Oba?

      • Doffi Atoshi

The man has travelled to the land of the unknown crossing seven lands and seven seas!

    • Mufu Ola

Better repent sharp, sharp. Your body will be the next at the bottom of lagoon.

    • ladiguy

Where did you go McDoe. You got the reply you deserved and you got scared . You couldn’t drop a single line . Be careful Mac.

  • Julius

Wow !, this is so sad, wish him peace in heaven. We need mental health care in this country.

    • Doffi Atoshi

Which heaven?Heaven is not meant for those who commit suicide.Am not judging anyway.

  • Anthony Uremeh

When a man loses hope then there’s no reason to live. The man had conjured all his thoughts and, in his opinion, there was no way out of his perceived challenges. He just lost it. There are individuals with suicidal tendencies among us. It’s important that this is looked at by the government.

Too bad that this man had to give in. Really wish he got his moment of peace in heaven. I really feel for his family…

  • Mufu Ola

He was said to be coming from church. He perhaps failed to satisfy the pastor well during “offering”and the demonic pastor/bishop sent him on “errand” of no return. That’s their stock in trade.
