Security officials have arrested 100 suspected members of the dreaded cult group, Badoo, who have been terrorising residents of the state especially in the Ikorodu axis.

This is just as the Lagos State government has cautioned residents to desist from carrying out jungle justice on suspected members of the gang, as government would leave no stone unturned to bring the perpetrators of any dastardly act to justice.

For some time now, the members of the Badoo cult group have been fingered in violent killings in Ikorodu axis, a development which had prompted some suspected members of the group to be lynched through mob action.

Residents in the area had, last Friday, lynched a suspected member of the group on the Ikorodu-Mile 12 express road.

The 100 suspects were arrested in a joint operation carried out by officials of the Lagos State Police Command, Rapid Response Squad, RRS; Odua People’s Congress; as well as local vigilantes including Onyabo in Ikorodu on Saturday.

As at Sunday morning, the number of arrested suspects had risen to 100.

The team, in the operation which started early Saturday morning, moved around Ikorodu and combed the suspected hideouts of the members of the gang from street to street.

The combined security team led by Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, Lagos Police Command, Imohimi Edgal, and the RRS Commander, Olatunji Disu, combed black spots and suspected areas like Ikorodu, Ibeshe, Ita Maja, Ijede, Ipakodo and other areas, arresting about 100 suspects for questioning.

The exercise was a follow-up to a meeting which the National Coordinator of Odua Peoples’ Congress, Gani Adams, and Onyabo leaders held with security chiefs in the state last Friday.

Confirming the operation, the Public Relations Officer of Lagos State Police Command, Olarinde Famous–Cole, said about 40 police and RRS vehicles were used for the operation, adding that the exercise was part of the ongoing efforts to rid the state of the activities of the dreaded cult group.

“We can confirm the arrest of 100 suspected members of the dreaded cult group, Badoo and they are helping with ongoing investigation into the activities of the gang,” said Mr. Famous-Cole, an Assistant Superintendent of Police.

“Government is on top of the situation and we like to use this medium to caution the people to desist from jungle justice.

“We also like to assure residents that they are free to go about their normal activities without let or hindrance, as the police and other security agencies in the State are poised to make the State uncomfortable and hot for criminal elements to perpetrate their nefarious activities,” Mr. Famous–Cole said.

That is verry good but lagos state government’s need to go and build another supper prison yard in the outskirts of lagos to put all the hardened criminals and I think rivers states goverment should emulate lagos states government instead of given amnesty to criminals

    • 0tile

The yoruba man cannot face his problem by himself, he will try desperately to drag an outsider to his problem. What has Rivers state got to do with yoruba Badoo gangsters?

      • Deansmart

Mr senseless and flipping canibals read my comment may be you will understand me as huma but not as yoruba man ,all I was saying was that your criminals enablers governors to stop encouraging criminalities by giving amnesty to criminals

        • 0tile

Did those people enable your yoruba Badoo criminals to terrorize Lagos state? What is the connection between Rivers state and yoruba Badoo? How can yorubas who deal in human parts call anybody cannibal? Last week the authorities caught one your cousins with body parts and he confessed he was keeping it for future use? What are you people doing with human body parts? Damned_cannibals.

You have prevented jungle justice by this action ,and I must say that that is commendable. Lagos residents are angered by Badoo’s atrocities in recent times, and wouldn’t mind killing innocent souls who pretend to be members of the criminal gang. It takes a proactive government and security agencies to do this. Thank you Lagos State government! Thanks security agents!! Thank you Nigeria!!!

      “I’m a Biafran. I’m not a Nigerian.
Nations are not imposed on people. People don’t sit down in
Berlin or anywhere and make people Nigerians. Nations are created by the will
of the people. My people have never accepted Nigeria and so, how can I be a
Nigerian? Nobody can impose Nigeria on me. Listen to the interview of that
rogue that they are celebrating. People who joined to steal Ijaw people’s
resources: Ahmadu Bello. What did he say in his interview? ‘That if they want
to employ people in the north, they will first of all take Europeans and so on,
then when it comes, if they are going to consider Africans they will take
Sudanese and so on but when they are going to consider other Nigerians, they
will take them on contract. It is there, they can’t deny it. What country are
you talking about? Obafemi Awolowo said Nigeria is just a geographical
residence. But me, I’m not a Nigerian, I will never be a Nigerian!”

Thank you brave people for taking your hood back from criminals; I bet that you all can sleep better at night and walk in your areas. Please do not hesitate to leach the same on militants and other underworld. I am loving it and wishing that similar thing can be extended to our area in Ogun State. Kudo comrades.

I never knew the current state of lawlessness and complete failure of governance in Nigeria bothered you?
I thought you guys came to power to give Nigerians better life. Your state of despair clearly give your frustration away, given the fact that Nigeria stopped since that fateful day – May 29, 2015 when this rudderless fellows in government were sworn-in and they drafted your likes to help out in their cheap propaganda that has completely collapsed now.
We see all of you paid hands now use other monikers to read us a respond once in a while.
Sorry, the damage would take more than twenty years to repair and you all are not excluded

THis type of arrangement is possible and Ambode waited until his master tinubu has much handkerchiefs before he give go ahead to police to arrest tinubu boys.

You can see what we are saying all long that government know what they are doing only buying time to have more blood save for the next election which tinubu will try to execute as he normally does but God will disgrace him before them.
