Nigerian govt. files asset falsification charges against Justices Ngwuta, Ademola

Justice Sylvester Ngwuta

The Chairman, Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT), Justice Danladi Umar, on Thursday approved the filing of cases against Justice Sylvester Nwali Ngwuta of Supreme Court and Justice Adeniyi Ademola of Federal High Court, Abuja.

The tribunal’s Head, Press and Public Relations, Ibraheem AL-Hassan, said this in a statement Thursday.

Both judges are already standing trials at Federal and FCT High Court, respectively, on fraud allegations.

On Thursday, Adeogun Phillips, the prosecution counsel in the lawsuit against Mr. Ngwuta, stepped down from the case.

Mr. Phillips withdrew from the case at the Federal High Court, Abuja, the News Agency Nigeria reported. It was not immediately clear why he took the decision.

Mr. Al-Hassan said the CCT chairman received the new charges separately on Wednesday, from the office of Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.

He said the charges which ranged from non-declaration of assets to false asset declaration preferred against the two Judges, were signed by Hajara Yusuf, the Principal State Counsel.

Mr. Al-Hassan said Mr. Ngwuta was charged with 10-count charge bordering on false asset declaration and Mr. Ademola, two-count charge on non-declaration of assets.

He said both offences were contrary to Section 15 of the Code of Conduct Bureau and Tribunal Act, Cap C15 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004, adding that they were offences punishable under Section 23 (2) of the same Act.

“Details of the counts are contained in the charge sheets. This is to confirm the receipt and subsequent approval of the charges by the Chairman, Code of Conduct Tribunal.

“The tribunal would in due course communicate dates fixe for the arraignment of the Judges,’’ he said.

    Premium Times Editor,

    How JOURNALISTS helped destroy Nigeria

    But the Nigerian media
is on trial too; not just the Judges of the Court. The APC party
useless in all respects – just bought, bribed, coaxed, or,
induced otherwise intelligent journalists and turned them into historical fools
for life. None of the writers caught in that APC snarl will ever exit the mess
    in a hurry.

Indeed in the lead up to the 2015 presidential election, the APC
turned politics into a cult rather than a contest of ideas. Quite a number of
big fools in the respectable profession of journalism renounced their own
senses and fell for the APC trick.

These execrably nauseous journalists did not for once think or pause to
question what the issue in the election was since Muhamadu Buhari himself
never articulated any coherent policy idea on any national subject whatsoever.

    • Retired Journalist 2017

………..(2) How JOURNALISTS helped destroy Nigeria

It beggars belief how any thinking journalist could ever have endorsed
daftness by endorsing Muhamadu Buhari who never campaigned for more
than three minutes in any state in Nigeria, simply by greeting to say hello to
his paid audience. Nigerians who could think in the media renounced thought-process
and joined hands with Nigerians who cannot think as party chieftains. That conspiracy
brought about this third quarter consecutive economic recession in Nigeria today.

With Buhari’s blank mind so notoriously obvious at that time,, especially after Buhari ran away
from any scheduled debate that could have further confirmed his emptiness, a clutch of mostly
useless journalists in Nigeria demeaned themselves to stand in the gap and run errands and so
these useless journalists took up the sloven APC campaign, saying all sorts of outlandish things,
including free meals for 5 million primary school pupils, just to win the votes of poorish illiterates.

The Bola Tinubu treasury presumably paid their dues, as these thoroughly useless journalists
disgraced journalism so badly and almost irreparably that it got so mad that the entire columnists’
crew of Nigeria’s highest circulating paper (name withheld) was APC-sent or APC-paid.

They’ve all mostly now run away after receiving their twelve pieces of silver for aiding and abetting
a political crime to enthrone Buhari’s illiteracy as public policy and thereby, destroy Nigeria. These
useless Nigerian journalists may have by now spent the money received to run the fool’s errand.
They will now have to shed tears for their families living in permanent darkness under the
incompetence of APC’s Raji Fashola whom these journalists falsely pictured to the public
as the opposite. The tragedy of today, in short, was entirely caused by these
i>journeymen journalists who’ve now figuratively forever died in shame.

OGA, YOU CAN’T UNDERSTAND NIGERIA FROM YOUR BASE IN TEXAS. COME BACK HOME.

THE NIGERIA YOU LEFT IS NOT THE SAME NIGERIA TODAY – THINKING HAS FLED THE LAND.

Texas ke? This man sounds to me more like an average senior applicant on the street of Otuoke . He is a mouth-piece of those people human beings are calling thieves.

          • V.O Akins

            @Ola_joe:disqus

Please explain further. Is he a human trafficker or a kidnapper? There’s no need
to cover up @retired journalist2017 if you know that he is actually an Igbo man
selling something disgraceful in Onitsha. This is a public forum. Expose him now.
He has been saying for long that he has been living in Texas for over a decade.

      • joe

So they should have endorsed and supported your lord and saviour Goodluck Jonathan, so that Diezani, Adoke, Dasuki and all the other thieves continue to feast on Nigerian treasury? Believe me, a dead body would have been a better choice than your townman Jona!

        • R.Ess. Kay

          @Ola_joe:disqus

No, no, no! Both BUHARI and JONATHAN were morally UNQUALIFIED for reasons of IGNORANCE
and KLEPTOMANIA respectively. There were eight (8) other options, including a female Professor
who was in fact the best informed candidate. Nigerians should have chosen from amongst the
remainder eight (8) presidential candidates, rather than intentionally vote for ignorance and
bring economic recession upon themselves. Nigerians are suffering for their wrong votes.

          • Mr. Alabi

            @Ola_joe:disqus

Let us agree that Nigerians made a mistake in 2015. What we have now does not
have what it takes to move the country forward. Buhari was a very big mistake.
Let us explore the possibility of early election before 2019 to save Nigeria.

          • Republika

@Ola_joe:disqus : A main reason MUHAMADU BUHARI became a disgrace in Nigerian history is GREED.
How can a man with Primary Six education apply for the job of Managing Director of a bank?
Buhari did not stop there. He applied for the job of President of Nigeria, with his Primary six.
He is a greedy man who just wants the money and the key to the treasury, not to do the job
he couldn’t competently do, anyway. He could never have performed on that job. He lacks in
the ability to understand the issues. He has no sense of proportion and took on a job above
his head. Only greed can explain that – not ambition, because ambition must be realistic.

          • joe

Are you replying me (The Big Joe :)) ) or Mr. Alabi? And why is the format, the tone and even the grammatical mistakes in the comments (from Messrs “Republika”, “R.Ess Kay,
Retired Journalist 2017.. etc “, almost identical? :)))

          • Badobe

            @Ola_joe:disqus

Are you even sure all these people live in Nigeria? There’s no light to do internet in Nigeria. How come these people can do 24 hours internet if they are all living inside Nigeria? It is possible that
some of those people are living abroad. We can never know the truth because they won’t say it.

“A corrupt tree cannot bring forth good fruit. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders,

adulteries, fornication, thefts, false witness, and, blasphemies. The love of money is the root

of all evil; which, while some coveted after, they erred from faith and pierced themselves

with sorrows. Brethren, you shall not steal. Theft entails deceit; and in a heart where the spirit

            @Julius11:disqus,

WHY DO NIGERIANS THINK THE ONLY ALTERNATIVE TO BUHARI IS JONATHAN?

HOW MANY PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATES WERE ON OFFER AT 2015 ELECTIONS?

………..Nigerians must wake up to blame themselves for the ruination they invited themselves……

          • Julius

Every Democratic country elect their presidents and live with the consequence, Nigeria is no exemption . We also has to evaluate what the immediate ex president did and what they left behind. I believe this is what we are doing now. We will have another election for the presidency after 4 years. Jonathan and Buhari were not the only candidate but, we elected one of the 2..Buhari

I support criminal trial of any and all indicted Judges of Courts because there is no judicial privilege.
Once a Judge crosses official bounds into money-laundering activity, he simply becomes a criminal.
Every criminal must be arrested and arraigned as an accused person in court of law. That’s the law.
The tragedy is that no criminal prosecution under the Buhari government has ever made headway.
One reason is incompetence of the attorney-general and the sloppiness of presidential Advisers.

CENTRAL BANK audit result: The corruption BUHARI sweeps under the carpet …..

      • ₦38.23billion developed legs and got missing in Central Bank under Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.
      • ₦160billion was taken by Sanusi Lamido at the Central Bank for self-determined spending.
      • ₦1.12billion was taken as spent by Sanusi Lamido on lunch for 12 CBN police guards
      in one year.
      • ₦1.12billion was taken in cash and entered in the account as paid to a non-operating airline
      for charter service.
      • ₦240billion was discretionally doled out at will as ‘donations’ by Sanusi Lamido.
      • ₦1.97billion was paid out in cash and entered on Central Bank accounts as “inexplicable
      expense” by Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.
      • ₦20billion was paid out in cash as Legal Fees by Sanusi Lamido to persons unknown.
      • ₦3.086billion was taken by Sanusi Lamido and written as expense ostensibly to promote
      Central Bank image.

      • Duro Jaiyeola

I beg President Buhari to do the right thing on this Central Bank of Nigeria’s
audit report. Buhari can’t pretend that he is not aware of it because the whole
country is aware that theft occurred inside that dubious Central Bank of
Nigeria under the suspicious leadership of Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.

This is serious crime. Theft is a serious crime. President Buhari would only be further
accused of nepotism if he’ll continue to pretend ignorance. A honest president doesn’t
need any reminder to prosecute theft or even any criminal activity uncovered whatever.
The Financial Reporting Council (as a government agency) did its own statutory duty
by uncovering this theft. It is now for President Buhari – as the head of the executive
arm – to prosecute all those indicted by this audit report.

      • ?????????

        @Ola_joe:disqus :

SHOULD THIS CENTRAL BANK FRAUD OF 1.6 TRILLION NAIRA NOT BE SUBMITTED
TO THE CODE OF CONDUCT TRIBUNAL TOO – ON THE PRINCIPLE OF THE RULE OF LAW,
SINCE SANUSI LAMIDO SANUSI WAS EMBROILED IN THIS MESS AS A PERSON, NOT AS EMIR?

  • joe

So how long does the CCB need to successfully put them in jail? 18 years? – Saraki’s case that should be an open and close one with all the evidences, has been going on for almost 2 years, and there is no end in sight yet. Adjournment after adjournments!. Nobody is sure if Danladi himself is not a thief! A country where you have more thieves than human beings! It is enough to make a President fall sick.

    • Anti-Corruption Agent

      @Ola_joe:disqus

My brother, yes, you are so right. It’s time to repeal
and replace the puisne Judge, Danladi Umar, Chairman of the Code of
Conduct Tribunal. He’s subdued as if compromised but he’s quite apparently
unwilling to decide this case which he’s instead been kicking down the road as
if in dread or fear. He was asked to recuse himself on the application of
Bukola Saraki. You know what he did? Mr. Danladi Umar took three whole months
to write a ruling on that simple application for recusal. In all judiciary all
around the world a motion for recusal is often easily disposed off in one
sentence or in one-paragraph (as bench ruling) possibly on the same day it is
      filed.

      In fact a recusal ruling
is more often issued in chambers and then merely served on the counsel
without need for time-wasting hearing in the open court. But our subdued and
fretful Mr. Danladi Umar adjourned the case of Bukola Saraki for three months,
just to write a ruling on a simple motion for recusal.

      in October,
when he eventually scribbled a meaningless and longish order as his
ruling – when just one sentence could do, he adjourned the entire Bukola Saraki
case again for three weeks. Next, he listed the case for yesterday, heard the
testimony of just one witness; then immediately adjourned again for another two
months. Quite obviously, there is no longer any judicial drive in Mr. Danladi Umar.
He should be repealed and replaced.

Only a bloody revolution can save Nigeria

What’s been happening in Nigeria is a crime against humanity. In a country in total darkness,
with permanent electricity failure assured by the fumbling Raji Fashola as an incompetent
and implausible Minister of Power – except for his Islamist credentials – the Judges
of the courts take bribes in millions of dollars to sell court verdict to criminal wrongdoers.
By so doing the man or woman who did the right thing is adjudged as wrong and the one
who broke the law is then upheld as the right person entitled to court approval.

        The effect
of this deadly game of bribe is that the Judges blurred and erased a line between right
and wrong. Crimes then soared in the country without let. Treasury thieves have set the
bar of possibility for the youths to aspire to and cross and now, wholesale theft overruns
        this nonsense republic of Nigeria.

The past General Manager of NNPC, Mr. Yakubu, criminally stashed away
or stored away 10 million dollars in his bedroom until he was caught with it
three days ago. No other country exhibits such psychiatric theft reflex.
Where the Judges are part of the theft racket, and take bribes from
those who loot the treasury, there are no courts of law anymore.
All there is perhaps is a conspiracy of thieves in partnership.
Only a bloody revolution can save Nigeria from total collapse.
The treasury thieves and the rubber-stamping Judges alike
must be laid to rest in perfect peace after revolutionary
justice is dealt to them on the streets with viciousness.
Let he who has no gun sell his cloth to buy one now.
As it is, only a bloody revolution can save Nigeria.

Muhamadu BUHARI’s corrupt double standard exposed!!!

The Buhari regime must be stopped, not just called to order,
but stopped in its tribalistic tracks. President Buhari is giving impunity to Muslim
northerners who stole huge amounts and were caught by law-enforcement. It is
not only the 1.4 trillion Naira scam at Central Bank of Nigeria under Sanusi Lamido
Sanusi that the corruptly compromised President Buhari sweeps under the carpet
several other cases of thefts by Muslims from northern Nigeria are now being swept
    under the carpet.

Ahmed Saleh, the registrar of the Supreme Court of Nigeria,
is a northern Muslim. He was found to have diverted 2.2 billion Naira. He acted
in concert with two other northern Muslims; namely, Muhammed Abdulrahman Sharif
and Rilwanu Lawal. They were in a confederacy of high crimes of theft.

    The three men were arrested
and charged for stealing inter alia. But in a highly corrupt about-face
President Buhari’s attorney-general (another northern Muslim) withdrew all the
charges against the troika of thieves, to go free with their 2.2billion loot. But the Justice
of the Supreme Court found with millions of dirty under his bed, Sylvester Nwali Ngwuta,
a Southern Christian, was slammed with more charges at the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
This is how Muhamadu Buhari dstroys Nigeria with rabid Islamism and brazen tribalism.

    • A.L Sanu

Na today? You don see honest Mallam before? Muhamadu Buhari is as corrupt as any Hausa/Fulani man. He is not fighting any corruption. He is only fighting PDP, southern Christians and a few Muslims caught in the middle of those two things he considers as enemies. That’s all Buharu is doing. He’s too mentally corrupt to fight corruption with any
objective standard. Buhari does not even have the education to understand the full policy meaning of corruption.
