APC Crisis: Tinubu accuses party of ‘injustice’, rejects ‘national leader’ title

Bola Tinubu
Bola Tinubu

A former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, of perpetrating “injustice”, saying he would rather not hold the honorary title of “national leader” in such a party.

“I would rather not have any title yet reside in a party that honours democracy than hold a title in a party that says it honours me but that treats justice with indecency,” Mr. Tinubu said in an explosivestatement on Sunday, in which he chronicled the alleged political sins of the party’s national chairman, John Oyegun.

Mr. Tinubu had been accorded the position following the critical role he played in the emergence of the APC as a major challenger to the then-ruling Peoples Democratic Party’s decades-long hold on power.

Mr. Tinubu said Mr. Oyegun favoured a candidate in the APC gubernatorial primaries in Ondo State and forced his choice through using a sleight of hand.

“A conspiracy to steal the Ondo primary had been uncovered. Fortunately, the grand deception afoot had been unable to cover its tracks fast enough. Truth began to cry for justice,” he said.

“Several candidates filed petitions contesting the result. The party established an investigative board to review the evidence. In a two to one decision, the panel found the delegate roster had suffered tampering. The panel recommended that a new primary should be held using the valid delegate list. This recommendation was tabled before the National Working Committee (NWC).

“After many hours of deliberations spanning several days, a final vote was held by the NWC. Beforehand, NWC members agreed that the decision of the majority would become the stance of the party. Such is the way of democracy. The NWC voted six against five to cancel the fraudulent results and hold an honest primary. For a moment, it seemed the party would restore its integrity by giving democracy a chance. However, those who sought to scam an entire state would not let the vote of 11 people spoil their enterprise.

“After the NWC vote, a noticeably agitated Chairman Oyegun proposed the NWC engage in prayer before concluding the meeting. Adhering to this chairman’s request, NWC members began to pray. Seeing that the others had taken his bait, Oyegun used the prayerful interlude to secretly excuse himself from the meeting. Contravening the NWC decision and in violation of all rules of fundamental decency, Oyegun decided to safeguard the fraud done in Ondo by perpetrating a greater fraud. Oyegun arrogated to himself the right to submit the name of Rotimi Akeredolu to INEC as the candidate of the party,” Mr. Tinubu said.

Mr. Tinubu said this had shown that there was an evil and regressive force within the APC using Mr. Oyegun to derail the party’s democratic and progressive tenets.

He said he deliberately excused himself from occupying official positions within the APC in order to avoid being accused of meddlesomeness as part of his relentless sacrifices, but even this had been taken for granted by those in his ranks.

“Tinubu has consciously refused to hold any official position with the party to avoid the perception that he was trying to control all and sundry. Tinubu has even kept his peace for some time despite many things that happened within the party that were not quite right. He exercised this forbearance because the party is young. A collective endeavour cannot avoid the mistakes and errors of organizational newness and evolution.

“Yet, the wrongs Oyegun committed had nothing to do with newness or the mistakes occasioned by the path of reform. His actions are in the nature of the old wrongs that have afflicted our national politics much too long. If Oyegun wants to walk backward into the past, he has every right to it. However, he has no right to drag the party or any of us with him. Against our choosing.”

Mr. Tinubu said he was dissociating himself from the honorary title which the party’s top echelon had accorded him since APC was formed in 2013.

“The informal title of national leader of the party was given to Tinubu at the onset which he accepted it as a sign from those who wished to recognize my contributions to the party’s formation. It is an honorific title which he has been proud to wear until today,” Mr. Tinubu said. “I would rather not have any title yet reside in a party that honours democracy than hold a title in a party that says it honours me but that treats justice with indecency. I find greater honour and comfort where democracy and fairness are found and respected.”

Mr. Oyegun did not respond to PREMIUM TIMES’ requests for comments.

This is the predicted end of ALABOSI
in Yorubaland. A hypocrite can only go so far before a shattering fall in disgrace.
So, Bola Tinubu now knows that merits should count, not godfather imposition?

The end of Bola Ahmed Tinubu has come.
He is in the throes of political death. He should be allowed to cry alone.
His agony should not be disturbed.

    • Private Eye

Let justice be done on this case first…….

In the year 2012, Lagos state floated a bond
for ₦87.5billion in November to be borrowed at 14.5% interest rate and then got public
investors to subscribe for repayment with interest, but once the bond was fully subscribed,

Raji Fashola took 40% of the money, about 35 billion Naira or thereabouts, and handed it,
in cash, to Bola Tinubu, via bogus corporate fronts, namely: (a) Lekki Concession Company,
      (b) ARM company, and, (c) Hitech company
      ; in a fraudulent “buy-back deal” of a supposed
concession right on the 15-kilometre Lekki Expressway.

      This patently corrupt deal was
ostensibly to buy back Lagos state ‘concession rights’ on that Lekki tolled
Expressway, according to the usually corrupt Raji Fashola. But what the dull
and dishonest Raji Fashola did not say is that the Lekki land at issue belongs to
Lagos state and was not sold to Bola Tinubu’s companies in the first place. Or did Bola
Tinubu’s company invest any 35 billion Naira in expanding the road.

      In other words, by sheer fraud, Raji Fashola paid Bola Tinubu 25 years’ profit upfront;
in cash; and without further work. A lien was then imposed on Lagos state allocation
of federal revenue for the next three years to pay for this 87.5 billion Naira bond debt
by all Lagos residents through taxes and levies.

Thanks for reminding the nation once again about Bola Tinubu’s Mafia-style grip on the politics and finances of Lagos State.
Even La Cosa Nostra will be impressed with the scope and impunity with which Tinubu and his family are plundering Lagos and holding its oblivious residents hostage to extortion.

Lagosians claim to be the most sophisticated citizens of Nigeria but they live as the most gullible and extorted citizens in the whole country. Their taxes and levies provide billions monthly into the overnight family fortunes of the Tinubu clan for the next three generations. He’s even taken Bar Beach from them but gullible Lagosians are happy that they are getting a beachfront “Eko City” that is wholly owned by Tinubu and his “Kora” business partner Chagoury. That is how deluded and enthralled folks in Lagos have become by the Tinubu mystique.

It is in APC as such it is not corruption but would have been if it was in PDP!

That’s my point all along and that is where I will continue to disagree with Buhari/APC and their apologists on and off these fora, not ever relenting in my critique of their witch-hunt called corruption fight?!

Make you ask him sycophants. Some of them were boldly claiming that Tinubu had overshadowed Awo in political sagacity by his alliance with the Fulani to gain power at the center; something they said Awo could never achieve.
The fools did not realize that Awolowo was never prepared to sacrifice his principles and what he saw as the interest of his people to realize a political ambition.

Awo must be laughing in his grave right now at the antics of the usurper to his legacy. Yoruba ronu.

    • Opekete

Well your name has really given up your mindset.

  • ojays

We now know that it was true Asiwaju supported Abraham. This is the analysis Alike had 3 LAGs = 900 delegate votes. yet scored more than 1000 votes meaning some poached from Ondo axis. Owo – One 600 votes which Akeredolu won plus some extra again from Akure Ondo zone. while One won 415 from his area. Alasoadura and some others shared the others so where is the rigging. The Akokos shot themselves in the leg by refusing to have 1 candidate. Owo held a meeting to unite one candidate. the others were just diversionary so where is the wolf.
of course it is painful to lose such humongous amount of ill-gotten wealth just on primary election. maybe I should agree now that efcc should probe somebody who had long being rumoured as corrupt.

  • Cleartruth

I don’t know what concerns tinubu with the decision of the nwc. He is neither a member of nwc nor an aspirant in ondo primaries. None of the nwc member has complained that their decision was overulled by oyegun. Tinubu should better be careful before his greed will send him to prison. He knows he has so many skeletons in his cupboard and the daura forces behind oyegun are mean.

He should know that he is only an ordinary apc member with big empty title of apc national leader which is unconstitutional. …

    • sab

“He knows he has so many skeletons in his cupboard and the daura forces behind oyegun are mean”. Hmmmmmmmm! So you guys are now beginning to admit, and or confess that there are skeletons in Jagaband’s cupboard? How time flies!

  • Let’s see how this plays out. Whether Tinubu shows dissatisfaction with APC or not, it’s clear that the wheel of good governance promised by the party had been clogged by the same old political spanner of god-fatherism and nepotism. Hopefully, we’ll get to understand what or who has been working against the wish of the Nigerian people when they voted for change in 2015. The Tinubu-Oyegun issue is still very young for conclusions to be drawn, in my opinion.

    • Julius

This is a party affair and should be treated as such. This happens in a democracy. This must not be allowed to get in the way of governess , Let them settle their wahala on their own.

      • You’re right about this being a party affair, however, I think a party affair that produces our leaders should not be ignored by Nigerians, the led.

        • Julius

You are correct , however we shouldnt let that be the country priorities because of the many issues we are having to deal with . This sort of things were treated as a national crisis when the pdp/ Obj/Jonathan were running the country and here we are.

Welcome…you didn’t say that when they diddled for over nine months without a cabinet and just fighting over positions in the NASS while the economy went to pot and into recession.
Now, here’s a party leader issuing a puerile and juvenile statement to attack the leadership of the same party he helped to form. The same Tinubu who imposed Oyegun as party chairman is now crying about imposition and internal democracy in the APC.
Another own goal scored by the party that can’t shoot straight. It would be laughable but for the misery they are bringing to the Nigerian people.

        • Julius

Bro, I said this same thing when the pdp/Obj/Jonathan were running the country. We treated their party nonsense as a national crisis whereas they neglected dealing with the country issues. Look, all democratic government deals with party affairs all the time without letting it affect the main priorities of running the country. This has always been our problem, we dont know how to separate the two. I see your point as well.

What Premium Times must do now is to go to THE PUBLICITY SECRETARY
OF APC PARTY IN LAGOS STATE, OBA RILWANU AKIOLU to get full details of what
happened after Bola Tinubu’s Vice President calculations collapsed. That is the real root.

The only thing we know so far is that President Buhari
asked Bola Tinubu to cancel Action Congress (AC) party in Lagos. President
Buhari then said that Bola Tinubu should use all the money he has to fund his

      n return
Bola Tinubu would be chosen as running mate of President Buhari to become
Vice President. Like a naive man, Bola Tinubu agreed and started emptying the
treasury to pay for Buhari campaign. When Buhari won now, Buhari said “old boy
no way. I can’t choose you as Vice President”.

      • i.c.c Noble

Hahahahahahaha! Bola Tinubu had calculated that Buhari is old and cannot do two terms. So that as the Vice President, he (Bola Tinubu) will just become President of Nigeria by short cut. Shocking confession by Musa Abdullah on Biafra, N’Delta* As Received (11/SEP/2016) Good Evening Biafrans, My name is Musa Abdullah from Kano state. I studied at Lagos state University and presently working with Kano University of Science and Technology, Wudil. Due to my education, I have been enlightened as to the happenings in Nigeria. We in the North voted for Buhari because he is our brother. We wanted power to return to the North. We knew he cannot fix anything in Nigeria. In our mosques, they always taught us to make sure we remove that infidel call Jonathan. We were meant to hate Jonathan with our spirit, soul and body. Infact, Igbos living in the North were very very lucky. They escaped death by the whiskers through the victory of Baba. Had Baba lost, my brothers where already on standby waiting for instructions to lynch any pig from the South. I was personally in the situation room as things unfold. I felt for the Igbos then. I really pitied them. I knew that my brothers in the North had been brain washed but I dare not speak. I sighed in relief when Baba was declared the winner and my brothers where told to relax, that they should go to the streets and celebrate. That was how the bloodshed was averted to the glory of Allah. I knew something was really wrong with my brothers. Kano gave Buhari the highest vote. It was massively rigged in his favour. That was why the INEC officer in charge of Kano was burnt alive with his family after the election to cover up the rigging. I wept for my people. Now what are we seeing? Baba has abandoned us. My brothers in the North are dying every day of hunger. Prices of things are so high, we can’t even eat three square meal a day. My Northern Elders are not worried. They are only after power remaining in the North. Not only that, my concern now is what is about to come. They have already planned on how to deal with the Niger Deltans. Of course you are aware that all the military personnel and weapons have been deployed in Niger Delta to murder Ijaws. But God seems to be with them..

On the facts presented here I should normally support a victim of fraud but if
the victim of fraud is himself a dyed in the wool fraudster I cannot in good conscience support
Bola Tinubu, because the heavens will rejoice whenever a fraudster is thoroughly duped.

Today may as well be the Liberation Day of the Yoruba people from the un-enlightened
coalition of Muslims Bola Tinubu put together and called a political party. If the Yoruba
people are to stop leveling with Zamfara state in WAEC School cert results, they must
turn away from the illiteracy which Bola Tinubu fans across the land as ‘progress’ –
though not for malice but just because Bola Tinubu does not know better.

    • KBE

The player has been played. The master strategist has been demystified by lesser mortals.

  • KBE

This is interesting. Let the drama begin. Tinubu is aggrieved and rightly so. He had been deliberately and systematically schemed out of the party’s mainstream. First all his candidates for positions in the upper legislative arm of the present government failed to sail through. The party hierarchy was part of that plot. As Buhari lured some APC senators to Aso villa a coup was staged and we then we ended up with the present senate leadership. Tinubu’s efforts to extend his influence to the middle belt also failed. While his preferred candidate for Kogi Mr Audu, unfortunately died before the conclusion of the election, Faleke the alternative candidate failed to clinch the position because of religious and political assassins. The election was already concluded but the powers that be staged the inconclusiveness as rumors has it that late Audu died long before the news was broken. The plan was to bring in Bello was hatched instead of Tinubu’s candidate Faleke and so another political coffin of Tinubu was firmly nailed and the burial conducted by courts. Tinubu quickly moved back to his familiar terrain in the South West to start a rebuilding of his estate but that move also was frustrated, shattered and blocked by the silent strategists in the APC. Both Abraham and Boroface his preferred candidates lost out and the rest is history. Unfortunately, Tinubu underestimated the forces working against him and his false sense of self importance did not allow him to put in place a more formidable structure to checkmate the vultures. It is yet to be seen where APC goes from here but bear in mind that the Jagaban will fight back. The results of the fight will determine the future of APC.

Fashola, Amaechi, Saraki, Oshomole, (even Aregbasola) and now Oyegun all power brokers from the South in the APC are against him, so who will fight with him, the foolanis or Akande who is busy eating Kola nuts and preparing for his exit, betrayed Atiku, Ribadu or Bakare?
      Wise up, Tinubu is undone!

      • Mufu Ola

Talk about your own leaders assuming u have any.

        • Jude

I think this should be treated as internal affairs of APC as they use to treat other matters. When things were going fine, we were not told. I am of the believe that this issue should be handled as party affair.

        • Samadani

VACANCY! FOR THE POST OF APC NATIONAL LEADER, INTERESTED PERSONS SHOULD PLEASE APPLY————————Hahahaha, lol, I dey laugh O! Tinubu don turn OBJ, non-partisan elder statesman. A HOUSE DIVIDED AGAINST ITSELF CANNOT STAND” haba, just 18 months. Some people like to talk out of sentiments instgead of being objective, they will deny truth. When they were luring people from PDP, duid they not know those people were coming withe their bagae, but they wanted to use them, collect their stolen monies, win election and dump them, but it didn’t work, is it now that they know those people were bad people? or because somebody changed PDP garment for APC garment means he or she has “CHANGED”. There is no fundamental significant difference between APC and PDP, in party manifesto or class of politicians. This Buhari APC government as simply replacing PDPs incompetence with their own and worse, Jonathans PDP government may have been a 419 government but this government is both a 419 and an incompetent government, that is why i prefer Jonathan TRANSFORMATION TO BUHARIS CHANGE. Cus at least Jonathans PDP government understood micro-economics and pumped monies to areas which impact on the masses and negated recesion but this government act like dumbheads, Their actions or inactions are futhering recesion, their economic policy implementations, stinginess, stifling of money in circulation is aiding recession and will dip us further into depression. They want we Nigerians to CHANGE but they the political elites have not changed.

The wisdom that comes with age cannot be compared to eternal wisdom. I and all who loved Nigeria warned of foolani style of never sharing power with others and those who chose to call us wailing wailers chided.
First Tinubu dropped the title Jagaban and has also dropped National Leader that he unilaterally gave himself and Buhari has technically fought off. The chicken has come to roost and He will find himself finally ignored from today.
He lost Kogi to the foolani cabal even when Audu are Amala and took a walk, followed already by Ondo. Impliedly, the PDP is red hot in Edo and that means that his dynasty is fast ending.
Julius and Tundemess, you abused me 6 weeks ago when i said he hasd drooped Jagaban, but this latest has confirm what i know better than you.
Osinbajo and Liar Mohammed has been under red hot monitoring and have avoided talking official with Tinubu, what then is his value when the Party’s Chairman has also been taken over? Saraki too is now with the cabal, since he has entered into pact to sell off Nigeria to them and get soft landing and some holdings
My advice to Tinubu, go make peace with Jonathan, team up with SS, SE, NC and produce a 2019 from Middle Belt.
Whoever have ear, let them hear – there is no permanent friend or enemy in politics.
The South West political God father has been unbundled – Awolowo, Abiola, Tinubu and they never learn from history: The first two died frustrated. Na there i rest my case

    • …dreamland blues….

    • Mufu Ola

You’re never tired of your Fulani fantasies. You are always talking of Yoruba politicians & personalities which shows you have nothing to talk about your people. That’s always the problem of people who have no leaders but hustlers.

      • emmanuel

Which is better, hustlers or leaders abandoned to rot away? History – Awolowo, Abiola and now Tinubu.
Ibori is from my state, a damn rogue who installed a devil called Uduaghan; the greatest thief of the century. His cup go soon full.
Jonathan was the best President Nigeria ever had, but was a weakling who took the advice of his enemies thinking that they would help him, but they betrayed him – Jega was their sign post.
Every bad person must pay for their evil.
I only began vociferous support for Jonathan when the names like Tinubu, Amaechi and Buhari played up in the APC, because good is better than bad.
You think say if i be Jonathan, Tinubu for sing song before EFCC immediately after January 2012 sponsored protest against subsidy removal.
I also always said that Jonathan cheated my ethnic group which is the nest largest population to the Ijaws in Nigeria, by not giving us any place.
But at the moment, those who have brought Nigeria to the precipice are the immediate culprits.

        • Mufu Ola

Jonathan wasn’t a weakling but a practiced rogue. How long are going to be saying “he’s good but surrounded by bad people”.The same think was said of Sagari & others. But GEJ is the ultimate in deception. He was just there looting & asking others to take their share.

  • joelaw

Don’t ever count Tinubu out, no matter his misgivings and the present scenario. You must give it to the man who engineered the dismantling of the PDP, that was no mean feat.Take everything away from him but don’t take courage and doggedness. He will surely fight back and the result may consume the APC as we know it today. Tinubu must however learn a lesson here, in politics, don’t be too trusting and don’t be too greedy. Politicians are generally non-transparent in their ways.

    • Tafida Gadzama

He is out and out by masters of politics. You may disagree if you like but the is bitter.

  • Ken

I am really enjoying how nemesis is playing out here. Tinubu we said would be thought a lesson he would never forget. He has managed to get some crumbs from Buhari. He is a man of gut anyway. He has deceived majority of the Yorubas and they would pay for it. This is just the beginning. After Awo and what happened to Abiola; I never knew that a Yoruba would betray the Southern Unity. So sad! Despite the sacrifices made by Niger Delta for the Yorubas Tinubu and Obj destroyed that trust.

    • Tunsj

Are you an expert on Yorubas? Waiting for your proof that he has deceived majority of the Yorubas. I’m sure you got none.

      • Ken

I don’t want to claim so but the little I know, I would say it. He deceived some of the Yorubas to hate GEJ and that was it. These set of Yorubas don’t want to even hear the name Jonathan because they were fed with half truths. Here we are. Out of the 16 years of PDP, Obj ruled for 8 years. Within 5 years, there were massive infrastructural growth in Nigeria both at the States and Federal level. Take time with sincerity and check this out. Yet Tinubu deceived them. He is getting his just recompense .

        • …your love of fiction is commendable…

          • Ken

Why do you say that? What is fiction in what I said?

          • Samadani

if you are aggrieved that nigerians have voted out your darling from power calm down or else you shall remain disappointed as GEJ would never return to power. Shikena!

          • Ken

You are correct. But the one that is there, what hAve you benefited from him? Recession and suffering . Continue. Tinubu is already crying. Tinubu would be disgraced more.

        • Mufu Ola

GEJ got his govt hated ( not him personally) by running Nigeria aground despite Nigeria earning largest revenue under his watch. U people must grow up!

        • Tafida Gadzama

Which infrastructure? Looting and insecurity. Good we kicked him out.

    • Action Group

You are a fool, has there ever been anything like southern unity? Go back to the political history of Nigeria, you will know that there was nothing like that,if you don’t know go ask elders in your village.

      • Ken

You are just silly and a child. During June 12 struggle, there was that unity by the Southern States. They were even meeting and decided to fight Abacha. Respond if this in not true. The Niger Delta fought gallantly fir Abiola. Agbakoba and Late Ubani from the SE fought relentlessly.

        • Mufu Ola

You’re funny. Those you mentioned never told you they were advocating on behalf of their ethnic group.Strictly on principle & their callings.Infact I remember some Igbos calling them “bastards”.Ojukwu never supported June12. He was sitting on the fence, Ibo style& even made some cynical statements against the struggle then.He said Igbos will not harm themselves because of Abiola. I remember that statement very well.

          • Ken

The Save Nigeria Group that mobilised and matched for GEJ was made up of people from Niger Delta but the Yorubas have lay claim that they helped GEJ. The Niger Delta doesn’t deny that. Be upright and accept the role of the ND too.

    • …usual IPOB fiction…

    • Pat

You are on your own here Ken. Which sacrifices Niger Delta Made for Yorubas? The Yorubas that all of you are cursing and blaming for everything are the one that God used to facilitate someone from Niger Delta to become president. We should try not to be blindfolded with our foolishness and hatred.

      • Ken

I hope you remembered what Chief Enahoro did in Nadeco, What of Chief Rewane? And to top it all, see what Kokori did; all to fight for Abiola. These people are from the Niger Delta. If what they did is not sacrifice, then I am sorry.

        • Mufu Ola

Those you mentioned are not your rabid Ijaw NDelta.Niger Delta like North have many nationalities. Not all of them are daft.

          • Ken

Who is talking of Ijaw here? Niger Delta is not Ijaw. Get that very clear and loud.

    • Mufu Ola

Tell us your own history before discussing other people’s.By the way what sacrifices did Niger Delta made for Yorubas? Were they not the one always allying with the north to thwart Awo all the time in the name of “fearing” Igbo domination? Are you just new about Nigeria history?

    • ojays

Wrong sir, it’s the SS&SE that always betray the Yoruba. During Abiola struggle only few individuals from East and SS supported. When we were rioting in Lagos Ibadan there was calm elsewhere in Nigeria.
Again Obj installed GEJ and Yoruba voted massively for him except Osun. The highest ranking Yoruba person in his govt was no 14 in hierarchy. So where’s your support oo. We will forever be grateful to late baba Alfred Rewane, Late Chima Ubani and Frank Kokori. These stood out as individuals from that side.
This is the first time Yoruba will team up with north, and if we mistake so be it We will re-strategise come 2019.

      • Tafida Gadzama

Struggle for what? Are you people the only one who voted for Abiola? Your pride and mental state is defective. Oga go collect the presidency nah. Disabled kneeling down crying for Abacha.

        • ojays

Comment here should be with decorum and not personal or abusive. so pls mind your language. The whole nation voted Abiola but somebody from a section truncated it. there was riot unprecedented in Ibadan and Lagos that was not witnessed elsewhere in Nigeria. if anybody knelt b4 Abacha it was as a result of survival instinct. Nobody wants to die. it is better to live and restrategise than to be a hero in the grave.

          • Tafida Gadzama

You think because someone from a section of the country truncated it and then those people should take blame for a decision plotted by a dictator and his followers all over the country. What of if we had chosen Tofa and ignore him the world will not fall and nothing will happen. Please mind the way you react to an issue. We are not fools ok. If something is not on your table then those things aren’t correct.

      • Alamu

“This is the first time Yoruba will team up with north…” really?
        What about Akintola and …?
        What about 1967 -1970?

        • ojays

He alone and some politicians Chief Akinjide, Akinloye and very few others. they were not mainstream Yoruba. Other Yoruba followed Awolowo. Akintola n Co got their fingers burnt and lost all elections in Yoruba land. up till tomorrow their line was non, pdp without rigging they can’t win in Yoruba land.

          • Alamu

NNDP (Akintola and co) was declared the winner of that election by the electoral commision!

    • Tafida Gadzama

Make Niger-Delta go sit down and watch at the sideline with Tinubu. He is not needed again as Osinbajo is getting ready to take over from Buhari.

  • Abidilagungun

…like Obj did to PDP, Tinubu will soon tear his APC membership card. Politicians and Drama. Did he just realise that the title National Leader is of no value?

Baba D: Oyegun what is happening here?

Tinubu: This man needs to change; he is changing our change
    Baba: What!
    Oyegun: You are talking rubbish
Baba: This is a clear case of kwaraption and must be investigated,it is another case of padding. EFFCC must look into it.
Oyegun: EEFCC? for me or him
    Baba: For all of you!

    • Mallam Abubakar

I luv ur play and dis is exactly what is happening.

  • Dr Pat Kolawole Awosan

If the APC chairman chief Odigie Oyegun, knew about the manipulation of the delegates list that voted in the APC primary election in Ondo State recently then chief Odigie Oyegun, must be compelled to resign. The APC primary election that produced Mr Rotimi Akeredolu,as APC gubernatorial candidate for Ondo State, in the upcoming november 26,2016 poll then chief Oyegun must resign effectively from APC chairmanship and APC-Ondo State, must re-conduct the primary election again transparently.

    • JP

Continue with your dream. Dreaming is free.

    • Tafida Gadzama

He will not resign. Tinubu is free to leave because post Buhari will return presidency to the southwest.

  • JP

The power to be wants Akeredolu. That is all. National Leader is a nomenclature. Tinubu should just understand that. The door to leave APC is opened.Tinubu was one time apostle of party supremacy. Akeredolu is the party choice period.

  • Comfortkay

Is this the change we are all looking for?

the miscreants are suddenly asking some rhetorical questions as the wailing wailers have very good laugh. Comfortkay, you and your gang of alayes are wise in your own eyes.
The change you voted for is now hunting you all. If you pull a man down by cooking up series of lies before the World, his God certainly is fighting for him now.
Both religious leaders were involved in the evil and today most of them have gone under. I advise the members of churches whose leaders were hoping to be the spiritual father of a President who would complete the term of his oga have suddenly gone under.
Pastor Bosun Emmanuel tol them, they were toeing the path of destruction, but they never heard. Today, their Son read only Newspapers and attend naming ceremonies as official duty.
You said we should give your APC time to perform and we are seeing the performance now

      • Comfortkay

Emmanuel am a truth democrat and l have seen how political parties works and function abroad and am schock that Nigeria politician are just after their own pocket, and this l made the Osun governor knows when l meet him over a year ago, l do not pretend if things are bad.

  • Mufu Ola

  • Ojeleye Iyiola

The federal politics is beyond the Lagos politics. He has got to respect OBJ.

Everyone respects OBJ and is the only man that if you change construction, he can still win with 90% of the northerne vote.

    • Mike

It was the same Tinubu who supported /annointed Akeredolu the first time he contested against Mimiko. Now that Akeredolu and Tinubu have “parted ways”, and he (Tinubu) now supports another person (Abraham)….who is to be blamed? Let the people of Ondo decide at the polls on election day

      • Du Covenant

Agreed!. Why is it that wealth makes the black man assume unnecessary power in society?.

  • ayobamiba

It baffles me how a generation that boasts of being first in every thing should allow themselves to be remote controlled by a man whose only qualification was that Yoruba elders who gathered in Ibadan in 1998 gave him the chance to rule Lagos for 8 years and thereafter he so looted Lagos that he became richer then the state of Lagos within 8years of his governorship. Thiefinubus paternity is suspect, state of origin is suspect, educational qualification is suspect, his morality is suspect, his mental alertness is a matter of debate and his health status is a matter for debate.
What then qualified thiefinubu to become the god of yorubats? It is either that yorubats have no ideology or that they are morally bankrupt people to be led by the nose like a horse by a shaky shaky master simply because he confiscated their patrimony to himself alone and deploys same to rule over them .what a shame that a man will stay in Lagos to give instructions to ondo people on how they should elect their governor and yet the same ondo people shall come out to see themselves as an intelligent and a proud people.what a shame what a people. Ondo people should take lessons from my rivers people who put amaechi to shame and anambra people who put ubas and obj to shame and ekiti people who put tinubu and fayemi to shame to reclaim their prides and dignities. How could a slave turn to an oba, God forbid. Akeredolu you are Gods threshing

  • Akib Abiola

Tinubu’s treatment underscores the love and hate relationship between the North and the South. In fact, it is exacerbating the aged long ambivalent relationship between the Hausa/Fulani and the Yoruba.

If Asiwaju Bola Tinubu had taken the lessons taught us by the late MKO Abiola and Pa Awolowo and learn a lesson or two from Baba Obasanjo, he would not have found himself in his present predicament. However, for a while, Bola Tinubu thought he was smarter than the three icons of Nigerian politics and he went about doing what he wanted to do and listening to no one but his own voices only.

He abandoned and castrated his fellow June 12 and democracy movement members. He thought he made more sacrifices than the likes of late Gani Fawehinmi. He served crumbs and left overs to those who made him and their family when he thinks total neglect may backfired on him. He arrogated to himself the Shahada of the Yoruba race.

Mr. Tinubu forgot the first lesson of humanity and leadership, the basic rule of the jungle; which states that you must not dance with an hungry lion no matter how tamed you thought it may be. Any prudent student of politics and leadership would have picked up the body language of the then hungry and angry presidential candidate Buhari.

Pa Awolowo understood the North and he chose to die with dreams unfulfilled than to compromise his own principles and ambition. MKO Abiola knew the North and understood how he could win their hearts and votes and Baba Obasanjo is a master of the arts of Northern politics. He understands the game and perfected himself on how to play it.

With all due respect, Bola Tinubu is not Pa Awolowo or MKO Abiola nor Baba Obasanjo. He went to a gun fight with a pocket knife. It was certain from the onset that he was going to be killed politically. A knife is no match to a gun bullet. If he had surrounded himself with those who fought the democratic movement with him, perhaps they would have guided him well but his crave to be the grandeur of democracy and progressiveness blinded him to seek counsel from brilliant aides, His head has been used to break the coconut and now his craving to have a taste of the coconut.

Mr. Tinubu, you reversed the feast that took over forty years to accomplished when you foster Buhari on Nigerians. You unbalanced the power that has been balanced and now you are crying wolf. You made your bed and you should be prepared to sleep in it.

    • Tafida Gadzama

Your analysis is full of hatred and it will amount to nothing at the end. When the whole south rejected Obasanjo who is a yoruba man, the north voted OBJ in but at the end you enjoyed him. Listen, nothing will happen if he leaves. Not only leader but king.

      • Akib Abiola

Your comment does not make any sense. Did I said he should not leave APC? When does an opinion becomes hatred? Where is the hate in my opinion?

        • Samadani

What has the statements made by Tinubu against Oyegun has to do with North and South? You are just an unrepentant bigot looking for every slight opportunity to vituperate on he North especially the Hausa- Fulanis. “Kare zai mutu da haushin kura” simply put ” A dog will die hating hyena”.

          • Akib Abiola

Go to my Facebook and read the comments and the sharing of my post on this topic.

      • Tafida Gadzama

        Ok eat your words then.

      • Mallam Abubakar

See don’t say so tinubu gave all just to make Buhari what he is 2day by d grace of Allah so u cant just say notin will happen, biliv me u many things will happen. Their are many politicians in d North who want em. So tinubu living apc mark my word dat is d end of apc.

#Bring Back Our (Preferred) Girls – Part 1. Written
    by Jesunyem George. 08104025915

Only a few months ago, one of the other girls kidnapped by
Boko Haram was forced – by circumstance – to lie that she was one of the
kidnapped Chibok girls, after she was apprehended by Cameroonian security
forces, in a failed suicide-bombing attempt – apparently masterminded by her
captors, the very infamous Boko Haram sect – in other to partake in the
preferential treatment being enjoyed exclusively by her fellow kidnapped mates,
even the world acclaimed Chibok girls.

And her strategy, strange as it may seem, achieved its aim
to perfection – albeit only momentarily – as her lie of being one of the
missing Chibok girls, instantly accorded her that exclusive status and
attention, that would otherwise not have been the case, had she just said the
truth, even that she was just one of the other (not so Chibok) girls from
Nigeria, that had been kidnapped by the Boko Haram.

Therefore who could blame the poor girl for lying and
claiming to be who she wasn’t, even a Chibok girl, especially under that
extreme circumstance, where the first instinct of those who had apprehended
her, may have been to do away with her, hence she thought the only way for her
life to be saved was to lie thus, therefore her strategy may have been
    essentially a life-saving one.

And come to think of it, the only reason she became a
potential suicide bomber, was because she was kidnapped by the cold-blooded
insurgents, which wasn’t any fault of hers in the first place that she was
kidnapped by the blood-obsessed insurgents. Therefore either-way it would have
been really unfair for her to lose her life under that enforced circumstance.

And so she lied that she was a Chibok girl, because she
basically thought that it would afford her a better treatment, perhaps as the
preservation of her life, which she would not otherwise have had, if she was
just one of the other kidnapped girls.

Unfortunately though, that mentality of the teenager is not
one that was held in isolation, for that was a true reflection of the reality
in those Boko Haram camps. As other reports emanating from certain members of
her own group of the kidnapped girls, that is the Non-Chibokan girls, who have
had the fortune of being rescued by the security forces, also attesting to the
fact that that was the general mindset of the other kidnapped girls in the
camps, as the Chibok girls were given preferential and special treatment as
compared to them, by the very dreaded terrorists.

    And as if the trauma
alone of being kidnapped was not bad enough for the poor girls, now they had to
come to grips with being treated by their kidnappers as “second-class citizens”
amongst the kidnapped girls, just because they were not from Chibok. This is
the ridiculous dimension to which the saga of the Chibok girls has been
    mismanaged and manhandled.

    Therefore you can call the terrorists whatever you want;
cold blooded, diabolic, desperately wicked, animalistic etc. and even demonic
as i would, because of the extent of the atrocities that their blood-filled
hands have unleashed on countless Nigerians, however this development suggests
that there was a perhaps a missing weapon that they may have yet lacked in
their diabolic arsenal, whose leaf they have taken from some of us who
ironically claim to be better than them, and even been at the forefront of their
condemnation, which is, “How to discriminate between the kidnapped girls”, so
that amongst all the girls that they had kidnapped from Nigeria, they now had
“the Chibok girls”, and “the others”. To be continued

  • LeoJ

The fundamental issue here is: Who is a national leader? What powers or functions does that office accord such an individual?

In copying the concept of political parties from the West, it is interesting that we have selectively domesticated the unsavory aspects and left off loyalty, accountability and democracy. There are no awarded or self-acclaimed “national leader” of a political party anywhere, not even in Italy, where politics is nearly as chaotic as it is here. The last man standing in the party is always the party chairman. Of course there will always be party power brokers, but they operate powerfully in the background and get their agendas executed. They are power brokers because they excel in horse trading–the life blood of politics.

If indeed Alhaji Tinubu has renounced the national leader tag that was foisted on him, maybe it is a forerunner of the inevitable change that is unavoidable in our politics. The first hit was godfatherism. That pedestal seems to have been abandoned as they are fewer god fathers today than, say, ten years ago. Maybe our parties will only end up with National Chairmen, on whose desks crucial party decisions terminate.

  • Eno-obong Eyo Okon

Mr warrior warm up for 2019 4 another party that will add salt to d wound that u created.
