Okay we hear, all we want to see is improved service delivery.

Let us find petrol to buy.

If this brings the desired change then sure.

I JUST WANT TO ENJOY THE DIVIDENDS OF DEMOCRACY

  • Ayinde

what sort of structure is this. I states that 5 will have CEO, while two others are are to be designated as Group Executive on Finance and another as Corporate Affair. To superintend over which of the five or as what. Please there is need for further clarification. Otherwise i would say no thinking was put into this.

  • Otile

Illa Illa Illala Mohammadu Rasullah. Is this the manufacturing, technological development, and healthcare that we are looking for? There is no hope for Nigeria. This man must be chased out before Nigeria becomes a beggar nation, Nonsense.

    • Reason-ability

You are really quite obsessed with Buhari. Poor you.

      • Burbank

He lost his faith in God due to Buhari.

        • Otile

How can an Islamist bigot like you talk about my God, talk about your allah, and your Buhari.

          • Burbank

Like that muhammadan Alhaji Dokubo Asari.

      • Otile

Not really. I hate Islamization and allied sycophancy. I am not poor, God is great.

    • Say the truth

Where is the federal character in the appointment of the CEOs? Refineries and Venture ceded out are the problematic ones. They are cleverly given to those who can do dirty job who will take blame for whatever happen there. While the north produces no drop of oil, it still got 4 CEOs out seven. The reason agitation will not cease in Nigeria. You take people’s resources and hand over the control of it to usurpers who will fill every available space with third class products of ABU while first class students from UNIPORT, UNN or UNILAG will assist them or wander on the streets.

      • Burbank

And when Jona was president, the NNPC under his southern appointees made petrol available 24/7 in your gas station!

        • emmanuel

Southern appointee? You are a dunce – Yakubu, Bayero, Oniwon and everyone who headed it were all from Northern Nigeria

    • Burbank

Nigeria had became a beggar for 16 years already.

As of April 2015 Nigeria was the economic powerhouse of Africa. That time an illiterate Islamist was not in power. Not any more!

        • Burbank

          That’s April 1st 2015!

        • Burbank

          Economic powerhouse of Africa?
Joke of the day from a racist bigot.

  • emmanuel

all these amount to creating more problems for Nigeria. NNPC problem is lack of enbling laws to drive the sector through PIB.
By the way, NNPC was a creation of Nigeria Law, so which reversed same?
Is this AUTHORITARIAN, DESPOTISM or rascality?
It is very clear that the NASS has surrendered her role in a democratic setting to a one man executive, what a shame!

    • Paul Young

We are thinking of how to make progress you are talking about law. Who law help?

      • emmanuel

fools die. A people who allow despostism have its root based on sentiments, leave to regret. Check history.
I DO NOT CARE WHERE YOUR BIASE IS IN NIGERIA OF TODAY, SENDING SECRET POLICE TO INVADE A STATE ASSEMBLY AND GOVERNMENT HOUSE ARE TRAITS THAT WOULD EVENTUALLY DESTROY WHATEVER YOU THINK BUHARI IS BUILDING.
Sometime ago, Abacha began like this and those who immediately benefited from it never saw any wrong, until it consumed them all.
Be warned, the laws are meant to drive enduring institutions in governance!

    • Burbank

And you have 24/7 oil supply at your local petrol station!

  • Rommel

Good and strategic move, let them remain focused on core business instead of the petrol import racketeering they were running previously

  • Humabi

    @aishaani:disqus

Once again 75% of appointees to head NNPC are northerners, and, probably Muslims.

Same pattern, same mentality, same way of doing things by Muhamadu Buhari, and thus,

it would be no surprise if Nigeria gets the same result from ethnically biased public policy.

    • aisha ani

All I want is for my fan or air conditioner to work, it is too hot to worry about ethnic bias. I am only interested in my immediate welfare.

    • Burbank

And all those years of southerners appointees have made NNPC a corrupt-free AAA-rated oil company with solid global reputation!

    Editor Sir,

President Buhari’s incompetence could ruin Nigeria!

Alarm bells are ringing that President Muhamadu Buhari’s incompetence may ruin Nigeria.
According to official reports issued Tuesday by the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics, Nigeria’s
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has fallen to the lowest point ever since 1999.

The “growth rate of Africa’s largest economy, Nigeria, has fallen to a 16-year low of 2.815 percent
    – the lowest since the return of democracy in 1999
,” Cable News says. “According to the report,
more than 75 percent of all the major economic sectors experienced a decline in the fourth quarter
    of 2015
    “.

Apologists of Buhari regime will likely pluck an excuse. They could say crude oil sold at $30.
But that excuse will have no force because crude oil sold at much lower price of $20 in 1999
without a similarly disastrous result Nigerians are witnessing under the rule President Buhari.
Nigeria gets closer to the precipice of the abyss, as the situation in January 2016 worsened.

  • Q & A

WHERE IN ECONOMIC THEORY IS ‘UN-BUNDLING’ A STATE OIL COMPANY EVER DEFINED

AS ECONOMIC GROWTH OR AS PANACEA TO NON-DIVERSIFIED ECONOMICS IN NIGERIA?

  • favourtalk

Way to go pmb, let the petroleum ministry work out

  • Omoba1

It appears that government do not want to let go off NNPC due to its revenue generation capabilities. What the minister has done is to split NNPC by division. I wonder how Corporate Services, a back office function/cost centre is going to turn into a profit centre.

Sell NNPC to Nigerians, make it a full fledge public company and let it be within the listing rules and corporate governance rules of the NSE.

Government should not be bothered with commercializations. Generate revenue via royalties, taxes, fines and penalties.

  • MushinSpeaks

At this point, can we all bid corruption farewell in the oil sector… CHANGE is truly here.

    • emmnuel

Fish brain, who owns those companies, where would the Fulanis eat from?
      Your illiteracy is legion.
If you have PPMC, NAPIMS, NGC seperated from NNPC, did that stop corruption?
You need some academic execise to open your mind. I have always npt supported these Bus Stop higher institutions operated everywhere in the SW, they breed stark illiterates who parade themselves as educated.

These companies dont make any sense…is this minister insane? What is ventures? What is corporate planning and services , what is accounts? And he said these are separate companies? These seem to me that all of these are departments of a company… I was thinking we would have 7 complete companies based on their announcements? This is a joke really!
