Boko Haram kills 4, including two students in Adamawa

The Adamawa Police Command has confirmed the death of four people, including two students, from gunshots in Mubi town.

Confirming the development to the News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN), the command’s Public Relations Officer, Mohammed Ibrahim, said the incident took place on Wednesday night during attacks on telecommunication masts in the town.

The extremist Boko Haram sect has claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Mr. Ibrahim, a deputy superintendent of police, said that among the four people killed during the attack by gunmen on Globacom facilities were two students, one from Adamawa State University and the other from the Federal Polytechnic, Mubi.

Mr. Ibrahim said the identities of the remaining two victims had yet to be ascertained.

Confirming the death of one of its students from gunshot, the Head of Protocol and Publicity in the University, Ahmad Sajoh, said the deceased met his death around the Low Cost Housing area, were he was hit by a bullet.

He said the late student was an indigene of the state, from Madagali local government area was a final year student of the Department of Economics.”

“He just defended his project yesterday”, Mr. Sajoh said.
