A PREMIUM TIMES reporter who was in Bayelsa during the January 9 supplementary election in the state harvested the images below from the streets of Yenagoa, the state capital.

As at the time our man visited, some streets of Yenagoa were eyesores, as they were dotted by mountains of stinking refuse heaps.

Residents had to hold their noses as they walked past the refuse dumps, our reporter said.

It is unclear what the state’s administration is doing to clear the refuse and make the streets decent.

A state capital of impunity, corruption, mismanagement, clueless
    and anchorless politicians.

Omo Odua, leave the people alone. Yenagoa is far cleaner and more modern than primitive Ile Ife. Haba
