Israel’s Netanyahu hails Jonathan as Nigeria pulls last-minute surprise to block Palestinian UN resolution

Netanyahu and Jonathan

The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, praised President Goodluck Jonathan Wednesday, after Nigeria pulled a last-minute surprise that helped thwart a resolution calling for an end to Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory by 2017.

The resolution, presented to the United Nations for approval, called for new talks based on territorial lines that existed before Israel’s occupation of the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip in 1967.
The proposal was the culmination of three months of campaigning by the Palestinians at the UN, and was backed by 22 envoys from Arab states.

The Palestinians required nine votes from 15 permanent and non-permanent members of the UN Security Council.
Nigeria is currently one the 10 non-permanent members, with its tenure expiring in 2015. Chad and Rwanda are the other African members.

But Palestine received eight votes, short of one, during the vote which took place 11pm Nigerian time.
The United States and Australia voted against the resolution, while Russia, China, France, Luxembourg, Jordan, Argentina, Chile and Chad voted for the resolution.

Nigeria, Britain, South Korea, Rwanda and Lithuania abstained.

Nigeria’s role stood out because until shortly before the vote, diplomats had expected the resolution to get nine “yes” votes, with Nigeria believed to be in support.

But at the last minute, Nigeria’s envoy, Joy Ogwu, abstained from voting, echoing the position of the United States that the ultimate path to peace between Israel and Palestine lies “in a negotiated solution”.

Regardless of whether Palestine received nine votes, the resolution still stood no chance as U.S. would have deployed its veto powers as a permanent member to block it.

But analysts believe the U.S. sought to avoid that scenario as it would have angered Arab allies who are currently supporting a US-led international coalition against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, ISIS.

To save the U.S. from that awkward position, its Secretary of States, John Kerry, reached out to Nigeria to help block the move, the Times of Israel reported.

After the vote, U.S. envoy, Samantha Power, said “We voted against this resolution not because we are comfortable with the status quo. We voted against it because… peace must come from hard compromises that occur at the negotiating table.”

The Prime Minister, Mr. Netanyahu, also said he personally spoke to President Jonathan and received his assurance of support.

“I would like to voice appreciation and thanks to the United States and Australia, and also special appreciation for the president of Rwanda, my friend Paul Kagame, and the president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan. I spoke with both of them. They told me and promised me, personally, that they would not support this resolution. They kept their word, and that’s what clinched this matter. I think this is very important for the state of Israel,” Mr. Netanyahu said.

Some Israeli media hailed the cordial relations between Mr. Jonathan and Mr. Netanyauhu, with the Times of Israel recalling how President Jonathan visited Israel during his last pilgrimage with a 20-member delegation, and how Mr. Netanyahu condoled with Nigeria after the Kano Mosque blast that killed more than 100 people.

Nigeria’s position on the complex Israel and Palestine issue has been that of neutrality for years, in the belief that any decision must be attained through negotiations.

Nigeria has maintained that policy in what analysts believe is informed by the government’s sensitivity to many factors including, not wanting to be seen as supporting Palestine’s Hamas, or opposing the United States.

A major factor also is the religious angle back home, with many Nigerian Muslims supporting Palestine, while there is also the Christianity affiliation between Nigeria and Israel.

hmmmmm…..keep supporting them to be killing innocent souls. Surely, a day is coming when all of you will answer why you support the oppression and killing of innocent souls.

  • Oleku

Good move Mr president–Naija can’t be part of any move that will seen her as being affiliated or showing support to islamisation–all over the world Islam is a pain in the ass–that’s why I will openly support Imam Shekau so he can be able to carve out an Islamic empire for the Mohammedans–let them go with their bloody religion and free us biko

Illiterate coward,Islamaphobia will kill Ur dirty ass.

Oleku na Reno Omokri na Otile na Tawanda na The “truth” na BlackieUmukoro na akpos1 na Deacon, So Ole you are this illiterate and ignorant. No wonder your support – and that of your online group to which you belong -for Jonathan is drenched in complete ignorance and illiteracy. Now get some facts straight for your education and the education of other stark illiterate supporters of Jonathan. (1) Judaism is different from Christianity even when the latter has its roots in the former. (2) Judaists DO NOT see themselves as Christians and vice versa. (3) The modern state of Israel is NOT synonymous with the Biblical Israel. I am talking facts here please and not some sentimental garbage you people vomit in the name of your corrupt “Christian” candidate -Goodluck Jonathan (4) The Modern day Israeli state is zionist and Jewish and not “Christian”. (5) There are both Christians and Muslims in Palestine and modern Zionist and Jewish state of Israel OPPRESSES both Christians and Muslims in Palestine. (6) Before the establishment of the modern Jewish and Zionist state called Israel-their leaders DEPLOYED KILLINGS AND TERRORISM SIMILAR TO BOKO HARAM AND MEND/NIGER DELTA SOUTH SOUTH CREEK TERRORISM. This is what partly gives the modern Israeli state her knowledge of terrorism because their leaders used terrorism in the past. Please check historical FACTS here. I am talking about DATED Facts and not some sentimental garbage. (7) The quest for a Palestine state is NOT a religious act. Remember the slogan of your Goodluck Jonathan group “FORWARD ON TO REPUBLIC OF SOUTH SOUTH AND SOUTH EAST IT IS THE SWEET OIL IN OUR BACKYARD”? Remember that you couch such slogan under Freedom and autonomy? That is EXACTLY what the Palestinian struggle is about. But because you are so IGNORANT and the Jonathan govt is so blinded and IGNORANT and the modern Israel is very dexterous and adept in manipulating religion modern day Jewish and Zionist state of Israel positions itself dubiously and falsely as defender of “Christianity” in the middle East even when the modern day Israeli state IS NOT CHRISTIAN . IT IS JUDAHIST. See what I mean? Please deal with facts here and not what business men like “Pastor” Ayo Oristejafor of CAN tells you when they go on jamboree to Israel with Goodluck Jonathan on public funds. Finally, let us talk about killings and murders and terrorism. You condemn Boko Haram terrorism right? For me Boko Haram is evil un-conditionally. There is NOTHING redeeming about ANY form of terrorism-of any type. But here is the joke on you and the Goodluck Jonathan administration as a result of your ignorance, dishonesty, trading, corruption and fraud. Here in Nigeria you condemn the evil of Boko Haram. You even falsely call it Islamic because of your own political agenda!. But in Israel, you support (i) the history of terrorism by the Modern day Israeli state and the killings of palestinians by the modern day Israeli state. (ii) You demand for Republic of SS and SE on the criterion of freedom and autonomy, and you cannot grant the same to the Palestinians. That is how ignorance, corruption, trading, business, dishonesty, religious bigotry and fraud blind you. Let me state my position without any ambiguity. I support the two-state resolution based based on history and facts. The Israeli state has a right to exist. The Palestinian state has a right to exist. The two states have rights to exist based on (1) History, (2( Justice, (3) Filial ties and blood contiguity (4) Equity (5) Fairness (6) Common sense (7) Facts on ground (8) Truth (9) Knowledge (10) Peace. None of my criteria has anything to do with religion. On the Israeli-Palestinian issue any defense of either side based on religion-Christianity/Islam is a-historical, ignorant, dubious, dishonest, fraudulent and implausible. Please go and read and do not be led by ignorance, business deals and interests, trading, and religious bigotry. Read, Think and Learn. Education and enlightenment free the mind. Ignorance deadens the mind. Your ignorance here shows why the presidency of Kind Goodluck Jonathan Nebuchadnezzar is inherently and irredeemably bad , a complete shipwreck.

    • Eniolataiwo

What has this got to do with the Islamisation of Nigeria. Guy,u sure say u go school. France, China, Luxembourg, Russia and others supported the resolution. I think u are bereft of common sense.

  • ismaeeldon

Wow! Really? Now it’s clear what the Nigerian administration is all about Mr Gej,I believed I’ve started counting Ur days out of office.

  • Giganto

If they like let them appoint him as the president of Israel but for us in Nigeria, we are tired of his malfeasance. Let him go now!

  • Concerned Citizen

Well if abstaining has been our foreign policy since i don’t see why we should abruptly change it without any benefit. However i do hope the U.S and Israel now remember why nigeria is an important friend to have. They should give our troops the weapons we need to also find peace back home by ending this menace called boko haram.

    • Mustash

They will not supply weapons, mark my words.

  • kunle

Israel is not a christian state as claimed in the report above, rather, Israel is a JEWISH STATE… Nigerians created pilgrimage to Christian holy sites in Israel and used that to CONFUSE themselves that Israel is a christian state. Really, Nigerian pilgrims to Israel are regarded as JUST TOURISTS….. and it has nothing to do with the JEWISH STATE of ISRAEL…..

    • Joe

You are 100% right. However, Christian faith have a lot to do with Jews and the Jewish nation. You cannot separate the foundation of Christianity without the Jews.Going to Israel for pilgrimage has nothing to do with eternity, but it is good for Christian theology, and those that wish to go should be happy about it.

      • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

He is 100% wrong that Nigerian Christians created pilgrimage !!

      • Christian faith is not the same as Christian Theology. Christian faith stands solely on the finished work of Jesus Christ. Christian Theology is a study of God from a Christian perspective. Both have nothing in common with visiting Israel as a pilgrim or as a tourist. Visiting will not get you into the heaven of Jesus Christ the Savior.

    • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

What an uninformed piece of humanity !! Christians have been going to pilgrimages to the holy land even before Prophet Mohammed was born 250 years after the death of Jesus Christ.
Israel is the holy land of Christianity and there is no compulsion in Christianity,it is not a MUST for a Christian to go on pilgrimage but this tradition picked up in the middle ages and still holds to date !!

  • IS.JESUS.CHRIST.A.CHRISTIAN

whether you vote or not I mean dumbo, Israel is not in need of you.

  • Des Rees

    Editor Premium Times,

If this draft resolution was delayed until tomorrow it might just have had a good chance of success.
Angola and Malaysia shall come on board tomorrow as Security Council non-permanent members.
Both countries would have voted yet based on the parameters of their middle-east foreign policy.
Although the United States would still veto the resolution as “un-constructive and irresponsible”.

But it was actually President Barack Obama who’d allowed himself be seen as the one waving a green flag for
the legal statehood this Palstinian resolution sought to achieve. For on May 19, 2011 Obama said the two-state
solution between Israel and the Palestinians will be based on “the 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps.
But isn’t that what this resolution sought to operationalize? How is it then “un-constructive and irresponsible”?.

    • Gideon Alaba Joseph

      @ Des Rees,

Well said. Kudos. You got it. But wonder what your comment is on Nigeria’s position?
Forget that Nigeria’s position on this resolution was dictated by Israel and United States.
Does Nigeria deem a Palestinian State in 2017 non-constructive and irresponsible too?

I am just wondering what the exact Nigerian position is, because it’s un-clear to me as yet.
I am told President Jonathan invited Israeli agents to spy on internet users in Nigeria.
Reports also say Israeli agents roam Nigeria for intelligence tips to forestall a coup plot.

    • Olutola

NO; the current resolution sought borders before 1967 which means Israel will leave the Raffa crossing and its adjoining parcel of land allowing HAMAS to control it and move arms, it will also means HAMAS will control some maritime borders considered a striking distance to Israel. If they waited, Angola is currently declared a Christian state so it will be a NO vote, Malaysia will almost abstain due to the volume of its trade with the USA and military support it draws from Australia. Malaysia is Islamic country but major population of non-moslems exist and the economy is in the hands of the Chinese/Indian Malaysians, so they did the right thing thinking a country like Nigeria will say YES against our antecedents and in consideration of their plight which you and I feel for, but the stakes are lot higher for both parties.

    • Nota Bien

“There is nothing in the Northern Nigerian economy which even hints at an ability
to survive without the South and its oil revenues. The North needs the South
but the South doesn’t need the North. The whole edifice of what passes
for governance in Nigeria is grounded upon the production of oil and
      the theft of its revenues.

There is very little productive industry or agriculture in the North which will sustain
its populace in food and jobs without a regular and hefty payment of money to
the Northern states by the Federal Government from revenues derived from the
oil industry. What Boko Haram has found, much to the displeasure of the
self-appointed Northern elites, is that there are a very large number of
Christians in the North. There are many Northern Christians but they don’t
      count as Northerners in zoning.”

      ………Dr. Gary K. Busch

      (International trade unionist and academic)

      [June 2nd, 2014]

    • At least three previous US Presidents had advocated the two-sate solution. It is orthodox American government position.

  • Olu Ade

The students of history will tell you that from independence through Apartheid in South Africa and till yesterday, Nigeria has always support those fighting for their freedom, independence and emancipation. Even when the United States was against freedom from Apartheid in South Africa and they called Mandela a terrorist, Nigeria was actively against it. History will not be kind to this decision that we switched to the side of the oppressors.

Anybody that says otherwise, needs to consult historians and diplomats on Nigerian foreign policy. Jona dropped the ball again.

    • Olutola

This is not true. Nigeria usually abstain on issues of religion especially Israel/Palestine especially with HAMAS. The situation in the M’East is so complex for a country like Nigeria with almost equal numbers of Christians and moslems. If Nigeria voted against would have been a shift as you pointed out, but Nigeria abstained as usual. Though I am a Christian but the situation on ground in Palestine is bad, very bad, the hardship is great. But you wonder what is difficult in erasing annihilation of Israel from Hamas charter just like PLO did. Dividing Jerusalem too is easy and Israel accepted it (at least most Israeli citizens) but who takes temple mount which by all calculations hedged more into West Jerusalem than the East. It is a site holy to world’s biggest three religions. USA may think hard negotiations can deliver but as it is now Israel will bring nothing to the table due to security of Israeli state if they give up Gaza and control of the holy site if they give up any more than East Jerusalem. Palestinians needed all of Gaza if they must survive economically as the only land border to Egypt is currently under Israel and nearly all the seas to the side of Egypt is under israel. If they give up rest of Jerusalem and cling to only East, they will loose the temple mount. it is not as easy because the Al-aqsa mosque is not only theirs but a holy sire to all moslems all over the world. Nigeria for a long time to come as it has always been will be neutral.

      • Olu Ade

What is not true? Until yesterday, Nigerian voting record was 100% in support of Palestiniacn cantatehood. It is a fact, you can Google IT.

        What Religion?
Unlike Most issues in Middle East, Isreal and Palestinian issue transcend Religion. See the facts below:

ISREAL: is a Jewish state, it is predominantly made of Jews. It is the ignorants among us that spreading the notion that Isrealities are Christians. Infact, they just passed a law in November reinforcing that Isreal is a Jewish state for Jews Home and abroad. Other minorities in Isreal are Christians and Arab Muslims. Neighbourhoods are developed along these 3 Religions in Isreal. You can Google the % of Christians in Isreal.
The religious affiliation of the Isreali population are 75.4% Jews, 16.9% Muslims, 2.1% Christiasns, 1.7% Druze, with remaining 4.0% not classified. As at December 2013, only 2%of Isreal are Christians(161,000), 80% of the 161,000 Christians are arabs. SO STOP SPREADING FALSE BELIEF, Google to disprove these facts and figues, the world is at your finger tips!

PALESTINE: Majority are Arab Muslims but about 4% are Christians in the West bank while you have a negligible number in Gaza. That is the facts, Google it, dont let religious bigots keep fooling you.

        • djay

Some are just Ignorant. Anyways I wasn’t surprise as we know the kind of president we have, Clueless.

        • Olutola

You are wrongly interpreting my comment. You dont need rocket science to know that Israel is not a Christian country they predominantly practice Judaism although it will help to know that most Isrealis are non-religious, but Christianity is a Judaic religion so a lot of countries with significant Christian population will tread with caution. Stop mixing apples with oranges Nigeria as well as most countries except USA and a few always vote for Palestinian statehood or will support a resolution for two state solution much like USA is in support as well. The point of departure is always when a date is put to it with resolution of many thorny issues or when Nigeria is called upon to support a resolution condemning Israel we have always abstained. USA will always block any dated declaration of statehood. Mind you there are only three or so votes on such definitive date and Nigeria have abstained each time.

    • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

While northern Nigeria supports the Palestinian independence hook line and sinker,we must not forget that while the world looked the other way as the Biafran genocide unfolded the state of Israel stood by Biafra.
The Jewish state of Israel has a special place in the hearts of all Biafrans !

      • Olu Ade

Thank you for letting us know that Jona is not representing Nigerian interests but that of Biafra. Unfortunately Biafra is not represented in the UN, Nigeria is. So, you and your Jona who is now President of Biafra and Ijaw land (according to your posting) are ethnic bigots. Just like Jona, you could not distinguish between foreign policy and our own local politics.

        • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

The Jewish state of Israel has always contributed to development in all regions of Nigeria unlike the Arabs who only go to the north. I am an Igbo man and Israel is a friend as far as we are concerned, you can support Saudi Arabia or whoever pleases you,it is allowed .

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

You keep digressing into irrelevancies……keep your eyes on the ball !!

    • Jonathan’s government vote should have at least given peace a chance. Israel never got this land by war but by the will of the League of Nations. Likewise, it cannot keep it by perpetual war, but by peace-dealing.

  • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

The resolution even if it passed was going to get vetoed by the US so the most objective approach is for the two sides to resume serious negotiations which will lead to two states.
The USA must be seen as an honest broker and not a biased supporter of Israel if any head way is to be made !

    • Eniolataiwo

U are a moron. If you know nothing about int’l politics, why don’t you keep quiet. United States being an honest broker, you are living in fantasy. Wake up ode.

Keep wasting your crumbs believing in everlasting joy on earth while Dumbo gathers his now many shoes. You be Mumu!!

      • Unak78

Nigeria shouldn’t easily side with the West or the East as neither side has Nigerian interests purely at heart as the US is proving and the Arab OPEC members are now proving. Nigeria needs to find ways to play both sides against the middle and think only of Nigeria’s best interests. That is how you win at this game. Not by declaring yourself a supplicant to one or the other.

If weapons don’t come out of this, then Jonathan has foolishly squandered this opportunity to get closer to Russia and China who might be more pliable on this matter. I have my opinions on the situation in Israel/Palestine but I also understand the principles of realpolitik and that means that neither the needs of Isreal nor Palestine should stand before the needs of Nigerians.

This vote is totally against our vital national interest.

    • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

Our future will not be dictated by Arabs…..please deal with it !!

      • Jack

Youre a troll, what countrys future is dictated by Arabs? Yet its ok for your igbo sister to sit with Arabs at OPEC determining issues relating to crude oil, yet Arabs are bad in your warped thinking!

        • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

I reject that name calling !! Some Arab countries constantly seek to bring down the price of oil to please their imperialist masters . Ms Madueke will work for the interest of Nigeria !!

          • Jack

Well Ms Madueke isnt doing much if crude oil is $59/barrel and cuts below the budgeted Govt projections!

          • Tonnero

You have a lot to learn. Arab countries do not bring down oil prices to please their imperialist masters. They do so to meet their strategic interests. If they wanted to please their masters with low oil prices, they would not have nationalized western oil companies and formed OPEC in the first place. The current oil price is driven by the Saudi interest not to yield market share to US shale oil. Traditionally, as US shale oil hits the market, OPEC would have cut back supply to help maintain oil prices thereby losing market share. This time the Saudis have opened up the taps. Their plan is to drive oil price so low that US shale oil will be subeconomic and production will have to be shut in. When that happens, the Saudis can the cut back and prices will go up. Pretty much like Dangote flooding the market with cheap Sugar, putting other sugar producers out of business and then increasing prices. Only problem, all countries like Nigeria who depend largely on oil are in for a long night.

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

You are in order here but that does not erase the historical fact that Saudis, the Kuwatis and gulf states have been serially manipulated in the past to increase production.
Also with the current situation in which the west is doing everything possible to undermine the Russian economy. This your narrative which the Saudis have mulled in public may just be a decoy. I prefer to think outside the box when it comes to international politics !!

        • Otile

Arabs brought a bad influence to Africa. They brought Islamic terrorism. Do you have any doubt about this?

      • Tonnero

Should it be dictated by Israel or the USA?

        • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

Every country knows where her bread gets buttered…..as a hardcore Igbo capitalist I want to be with winners not losers !!

          • iroanya

@t tawanda this vote has nothing to do with igbo interest economically or otherwise.

          • Otile

It has everything to do with imposing an illiterate Fulani to set Nigeria back again. Igbo will never be part of retrogression.

            Go and hang yourself

    • Otile

      Go and hang.

      • iroanya

@ otile you are not a student of international relations. so you better go and hang with your ignorance

    • iroanya

@ otile you are not a student of international relations, so you better go and hang with your ignorance,

      • Otile

Since you are no student of international relations either, apply your advice to yourself.

  • djay

The same US that Nigerian govt blamed for not doing enough for the fight against bokoharam are now compelling us to do what they want without any commitment from the US and since we have a clueless, irresponsible govt led by Gej, they won’t even bother to negotiate to know what we stand to benefit from supporting the US.

    • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

You are absolutely wrong, the decision was based on a sound and objective principle of making the two-state solution a reality albeit through negotiations because the USA will always veto these symbolic resolutions like they have been doing for decades.

      • Jack

Just because US has been vetoing these resolutions doesnt make it right, the objective principle of making two-state solution has been going on for over 30years still no head way, are the palestinians going to remain in status quo? Youre an ethnic/ religious bigot!

        • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

I support Palestinian independence in principle but Israel must be secure as well so both parties should negotiate and reach a solution. You should confront the US if you have a problem with their Middle-East policy, its beyond me really !!

          • Jack

Well you should have persevered if you thought US ME policy is pro or anti Isreal, you gave yourself out by numerous posts you have written here, you have abused the Palestinians which alludes to the fact that you are anti-palestinians. You are sitting on a fake and disingenuous assumptions that Igbos are from Isreal, thats will always be a false assumption as there is no man-known document to suggest so. How can you hate the palestinians and suggest you abide by 2 state solution in “principle”? What a contradiction!

      • djay

My point is Nigeria, after the claim the US govt has not supported Fg to tackle bokoharam, should not make herself easily available to do what US wants of her.

        • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

Israel is a strategic partner as well, this has nothing to do with the US !!

          • Jack

You are using words you dont know the meaning! Hows Israel a strategic partner?

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

Oh yes !! I know what I mean, strategic partnerships are not reserved for world powers alone .

          • Jack

A strategic partnership is a formal alliance between two commercial enterprises, usually formalized by one or more business contracts but falls short of forming a legal partnership or, agency, or corporate affiliate relationship.

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

Very text-book indeed but how does that change my comment ?

          • Otile

Like the partnership between Al-Shabab and Boko Haram.

          • Tonnero

            Strategic? In what way?

        • ikenna

we still arms from USA so GEJ played a good game

          • Wähala

A good role because he launders our commonwealth using Jews…

          • ikenna

            jews very funny

          • Otile

Imam Buhari used Jewish people to launder Umaru Dikko home. Stop your double standard.

    • Tonnero

On this one, GEJ will be damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t. It was a difficult one. Nigeria, especially as presently run, is far too weak to take on the USA head on and vote for the resolution to pass. On the other hand, voting against it would damage relationships with Nigerian muslims, anger our partners in OPEC as well as go against our values of supporting groups under oppression (e.g. South Africa, Angola etc.). There is no winning position but I think the neutral position is the one with the least damage. I support it.

      • umolu

Especially that Saudi Arabia, just yesterday refused Nigeria to use their airspace to transport weapons to fight Boko Haram, Saudi ‘ s pet project. You see, what comes around goes around.

  • Wähala

Dumbo visited… Netanyahu condoled. Big difference!
Nigeria is being hypocritical if our Govt. believes the path to ultimate peace with Hamas terrorists is via, “a negotiated solution” yet, refuses to negotiate in good faith with Boko Haram terrorists who have murdered over 30,000 innocent Nigerians and displaced millions more. That was what Baba Iyabo called, “carrot and stick” approach in his letter to Dumbo which was discarded with a rain of insults. Dumbo now claiming sensitivity to the religious content and Nigeria’s ethnic Christians ati Muslims relations after inventing, “Yoruba Christians/Yoruba Muslims” is pure hypocrisy laced with honey. Finally, I do not see the logic in helping the same America Dumbo has accused of not helping him fight our local-brew terrorists, why help America with Hamas and upset our ethnic Muslims… while pampering Obama’s relationship with his Arab friends? Dumbo is confused… shikena!

    • djay

Exactly, his clueless nature is represented everywhere.

    • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

Hamas is actually a democratically elected regime and other Palestinian groups who claim to fight for Palestinian statehood have a right to self determination, I do not understand how a reasonable person can lump them in the same basket as your Boko-haram which you passionately root for all over the WWW.
You are a real embarrassment to whoever footed your school fees !!

      • Wähala

According to the US and UN…
Hamas is officially classified a, “terrorist organization” just like our Boko Haram. Mumu, I’ve told you to stop trolling around me, will not waste time sticking my foot into your dirty ahnus. Now, buzz-off! Anu mkpi… anu mpam!

        • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

Mechie ezeh ule …onuku Odeku !!

          • Wähala

            ???
            English please!
Don’t hide behind Ibo to concede defeat, tell others you’ve bowed to superior argument.
Onye oshi di ka gi, can’t even write standard Ibo yet, always hiding in Ibo to talk trash. Anam River osu-igbo!

          • TAWANDA INCOMMUNICADO

The USA and the EU are countries free to operate their foreign policies but the UN and the international community supervised a free and fair election in Gaza.
Also the EUs Apex court has cleared Hamas just last week and that opens the way for Eu countries to recognise the Palestinian coalition government which includes Hamas !!
Your opinion is rubbish as you can see….Ezi !!

    • ikenna

Good game played well GEJ, now USA and Israel will supply us with the arms we need to fight Boko. Game played well

      • Comfortkay

        Dreamer.

      • Aminu

Mumu! the same Israel and USA aiding all terror groups including your PDP military wing aka Boko Haram with free weapons

    • umolu

Religion or not, there is simply no reason to negotiate with terrorists . Terrorists all over the world should be dealt with to the maximum. Even Pakistan, is so mad right now with their home grown talaban. Here at home even the moslem aren’t all in tune with the Kanuri man,Shekau. Terrorists are criminals and should not be tolerated anywhere.

      • Wähala

Ideological wars are not won with bullets alone son, do a round-robbin thru History and you will see that in the end, even the Pakistanis will return to the negotiation tables. Besides, if you can’t beat them, can’t join them… what’s left for you to do? (IQ Test)

    • Oluwaseun

Mr Wahala Dumbo, I must comment that you don’t research properly and if am wrong, then you surely lack that retentive memory you need. I would have loved to comment on the negotiation you are suggesting but some good heads have already done that. You should better take note that The US has done a lot more positive things for Nigeria for decades including the military, except for the issues lately. You are expecting US to end terrorism for you, did they start it? Its your problem and not theirs. A group of fools murdered 30,000 innocent Nigerians and you want us to negotiate with them, are you wise ?

  • ikenna

well played GEJ, now USA and Israel will supply us with the arms we need to fight Boko. Game played well

    • Tonnero

Old boy, you do things because they are right and consistent with our values not as a bargaining chip for obtaining weapons. When people see you in the latter category, they have little respect for you knowing you are up for sale. This was a difficult one but the question should be, was that abstention consistent with our values?

    • umolu

Sorry, although I know you are being sarcastic; those countries, Israel and particularly, Usa, only have permanent interests and not permanent friends, whatever that means to them.

      • ikenna

like u said permanent interests so what is the permanent interests?

    • Wähala

The US will never sell dangerous arms to Dumbo, and the Jews will continue laundering his ill-gotten wealth from Nigeria, that’s the implication of this. Go-siddon!

      • Otile

Go to Sambisa forest and get your training, move down to Palestine and fight. Don’t sit there in Nazi Germany to threaten the Jewish people.

  • Benicio

Russia, China, France, Luxembourg, Jordan, Argentina, Chile and Chad….. The tide of change is coming for this fascist and genocidal Israeli state. Us Nigerians should definitely stand for the oppressed people….. “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing” ….the occupation of the Palestinian land is devastating to its inhabitant. Imagine another country being able to tell you what crops you can grow, what resources are available to you, what technology you can have. Manage your borders to prevent trade. Your children are suffering without proper resource and amenities and the propaganda from the Israeli and US media is call these people terrorist. While what little development they have you bomb them. Then throw them crumbs calling it aid. This is Evil

    • 9jaNinja

      Anti-Semitic pfool.

      • Benicio

        Cheers

  • UYI111

When is all said and done if they need peace so bad they there should be compromise from both parties. Is their cup of tea dont drag Nigeria into it .

  • Dr Pat Kolawole Awosan

Quite very sad and unfortunate that Nigeria has the wrong man in person of Ebele Jonathan, as president of Nigeria that blatantly support Israel against Palestinians statehood.President Jonathan is very insensitive and arrogant that must be voted out of office on February,2015 presidential election. Why didn’t the arrogant and very nepotic president Ebele Jonathan stand Nigeria out as neutral instead of pitching Nigerians against Palestinians statehood?Anyway,Ebele Jonathan is Israel’s lackey
blocking people of Palestine from achieving their goal of having their own country and obtaining freedom to live an independent lives

    • emmanuel

      Block head, Nigeria abstained.

Our stand from time on the two countries has been neutral.

The problem with most of you is that you know very little about Nigeria outside your broom carrying zest.

      • Curtis

Nigeria had always vote in support of the Palestine. Stop twisting facts to support your point

  • Tonnero

I believe this was a diplomatic decision not one based on religion. It is still my belief, unless told otherwise, that Nigeria supports the freedom of oppressed people all over the world. However, I suspect Nigeria is too weak at this point to have a head-on confrontation with the USA so we took the least damaging of the three options. However, it is fair to wonder what would have happened if we took the position that is consistent with our values and supported the resolution against the wishes of the USA and Israel thereby forcing the USA to use its veto power.

    • Oluwaseun

      Same decision as Jonathan did.

    • Wise Head

OBJ was the worst stooge to the West ever to pass through Aso Rock. He would not have had the liver to pass the anti-gay law even though he knows that more than 99% of Nigerians strongly resent it. Because he was their boy, that’s why he has not been moved to the ICC for trial (as they did to Charles Taylor) b/c of Odi and Zaki Ibiam, and despite his massive loot, he still walks free across Western capitals.

  • Unak78

If this deal results in arms for the Boko Haram war effort then it was a shrewd move but only in that case. It’s time for Nigeria and African nations particularly West Africa, to start being a little selfish because the Western World and the Eastern World will do the same to us. Whether Muslim or Christian we have to remember that Nigeria will get little real help from Muslims or Christians from other parts of the world. If arms sales come, then it was a smart move. If not then GEJ should start looking for a new job because he won’t deserve to remain president of Nigeria.

  • Comfortkay

We need not to forget that our President Ebele Jonathan went two times this to the Holy at the cost of Nigeria, his stand on the United Nation vote on Palestine never reflect on the opinion of Nigerian, having said that Nigerian has been oppressed by the People Destruction Party (PDP) since 1999 and it is not a surprised that PDP led government want this Palestine to continued to suffer just as we Nigerian are suffering under PDP.

    • Otile

Which Nigeria are you talking about? No right thinking Nigerian will side with terrorists. Only Muslims like Imam Shekau, Imam Buhari, Sultan of Sokoto will drag Nigeria against the will of the people to support the Philistines. Right thinking Nigerians hate Islamic terrorism.

@Comfortkay, if you support Palestinian terrorism, break away and join Imam Shekau’s Caliphate.

      • ConcernedCitizen2015

Mandela, Ghadaffi, Julius Nyere, Samora Machel, Thomas Sankara, Murtala Mohommed, and many other radical leaders supported Palestinian rights. Read the article Russia, China, France, Luxembourg, Jordan, Argentina, Chile and Chad supported the resolution. Are the above countries Jihadist states, caliphates or terrorist states? A beg go away with your deception.

        • Otile

Except Murtala Ramat Mohammed whom among the people you listed here committed genocide or fought for Allah? Which war did Mandela, Ghadaffi, Julius Nyerere, Thomas Sankara, fight against innocent civilians? Today the Palestinians are committed to destroying Israel.

Every night the Israelis have to deal with rockets, suicide bombers and stabbers, and you are here defending the Palestinian terrorists. Away with your taqiyya.

          • ConcernedCitizen2015

When the Biafrans decided to go to war against the “helpless and innocent Yorubas” and got all the way to Ore… from then on the Biafrans were no longer “innocent” but aggressors.

          • Otile

Were the Yoruba murderous soldiers sitting idle watching Biafrans before Ore? From day one Yorubas were fighting, looting, and raping before Ore, so who was the aggressor?

          • Curtis

Did you go to school at all? Your comments are consistently insane. FYI, the Palestinians started to fight back after years of Israeli persecutions

          • Otile

Your question of whether I went to school at all says a lot about you. It also takes a sane person to recognize insanity, in all probability you are not sane.

It is insane for you not to have read that the Jewish people have been persecuted throughout their history. You must be dishonest not to admit reading about the many oppressions suffered by the Jews from the Philistines, now called Palestines.

You islamists do not need any excuse to oppress people, you can always claim persecution from your neighbors and start looting and rampaging. Your present Boko Haram is a case in point.

      • Comfortkay

You have a little knowledge about the Arabian Penisula, l am for peace and not one using power to tie down the other, Bible says Blessed are the Peace maker, we need to find a way to make peace. Do not be Brainwashed, look for ways to promote peace.

  • Otile

Nobody should blame Nigeria for what the Philistines brought on themselves, Nigeria did the right thing.

Long ago the Philistines amassed their terrorist troops at Mount Sokoh and brandished their kill-we, a gigantic killer called Goliath. Israel brought a young Godly boy called David to teach the Philistines a lesson about God. Their giant derided David boasting to feed his body to the birds. When the battled began David moved sharp and fell the kill-we then the bragging Philistines fled. And now you know the rest of the story.

Today Imam Shekau and his master Buhari are trying to re-enact that war, bragging to humiliate President Jonathan. President Jonathan is like humble David. On February 14, 2015 Jonathan will move fast and crush General Imam Buhari and Abu Shekau at the polls. All the bragging from Islamic APC party will come to nothing. Allah dey.

    So mute it be.

    • ConcernedCitizen2015

Continue to deceive yourself. We have a very predictable dumb leader. Very uninspiring, with a colonized mind, first of all he passes anti-gay law to prove that he can fight the west… but at the same time he his ready to support IMF, World Bank enslavement of Nigerians. He his ready to support all there foreign policy agendas. What is the foreign policy agenda of Nigeria? Where is our spine? God save us from intellectually incapacitated leadership. We the youth of Nigeria demand more. We want to be inspired.

      • Otile

So you only need the West when you want their help, or fight a war of genocide, but your loyalty is for the Arabs and terrorists. It does not work that way, boy.

    • ConcernedCitizen2015

Which war are they trying to enact. The Palestinians have a right to have there country, If they so desire by popular vote. They are being oppressed and are presently an occupied territory.Israeli checkpoints crisscross the West Bank and Gaza They are a minority in the State of Israel as it is, although a lot of them are refugees in Lebanon and Jordan. Just like the African Americans are a minority in the United States and the Ijaws, Effiks, Ibibios, Ekweres e.t.c are a minority in Nigeria.

      • Otile

Get out here. Who are the Ijaws, Effiks, Ibibios, Ekwerres e.t.c trying to kill in Nigeria? Have you heard of any Ijaw, Effik, Ibibio, Ekwere suicide bomber?

        • ConcernedCitizen2015

Be focused we are talking about minority rights as regards the Palestinians. That was the main thrust of the discussions during the last constitutional conference your Oga organized. How do you protect the rights of the minority within a majority in a country.

          • Otile

The murderous Kanuri tribe is not a majority tribe in Nigeria, yet they have brought terror and fear into the North. So you do not need to be a majority tribe to oppress fellow citizens if you are predisposed to violence.

So stop defending Palestinian terrorists using weak arguments.

        • Aminu

Majority of the so called black Christians are nothing but pagans who profess the religion of the Jews.Jesus Christ PBUH a man and Prophet of GOD from the town of Nazareth have said it a number of times he was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel. He made it explicitly clear to non Jews that his mission on Earth excluded the GENTILES.chie i pity you because you refused to heed the warnings from Christ and thats why you have no hope in the life after death

      • Nwa Aba {Biafran}

They want right to fire rocket

        • ConcernedCitizen2015

Keep on supporting your God “King Nebuchadnezzar”.. Let the support continue to blind your sense of reasoning. Did the Biafrans not want to be free to defend themselves also, free to move around Biafra, free to have there own flag, own constitution , own currency and to be recognised by the UN, Africa and Nigeria. The Palestinians have are a people, majority born in Gaza, the West Bank and present day Israel, they also have rights. A Muslim is a human being, created by God, just like Christians and Animists. God’s laws do not only apply to Christians.

          • Nwa Aba {Biafran}

Muslims are born with terrorism DNA

          • Aminu

Oh just like the Christian Crusaders and thier Spannish inquisation acts for murdering non Catholics, Muslims and Jews all in the name of unHoly Trinity and thier quest to kill all non believers of unholy creeds

      • Fairgame

The entire Palestinian claim to an inch of land in Jerusalem is the greatest lie and vexation known in present day. there is not one single mention of Jerusalem in the Quran. Not one! But you cannot read the bible without reading Jerusalem from beginning to the end. The madness and the continued hypocrisy of world governments when it comes to this will surely be addressed by the God of Israel. The battle is the Lord’s.

        • Otile

Gbam. The godless does not know this.

Who’s the God of Israel? Why should you people be deceiving yourselves with this nonsense? It’s insane

Buhari also aided, enabled and heartlessly supported Gen Abacha,Africa’s most kleptomaniac and murderous dictator,Buhari worked for Abacha and up till today has taken the stance that Abacha was not corrupt despite the billions of dollars the brute evidently starched away in foreign lands.

Premium times are fond of lies, not until i threatened them yesterday giving them 24 hours to retract the lies they told millions of nigerians before they apologized for a fake news report yesterday. These were my comments yesterday “lol desperate. Why don’t premium times tell us the whole story why this
lady decamped, i give you guys 24 hours to say the truth or else i
would post the truth. enough of this inbalance reporting. I am just
fair, give us the whole gist, not half baked stories to favor your
paymasters” I was abused by pfools like wahala, ending naija, tundemash. Now here is premium times retraction.

A People Democratic Party, PDP, House of Representative aspirant,
Aisha Osori, has denounced the PDP to join the All Progressives
Congress, APC, after losing on the platform of the PDP.

Ms. Osori announced her defection on Tuesday in Abuja while briefing journalists at the APC national secretariat.

Ms. Osori emerged loser at the recent AMAC/Bwari federal constituency
primary in the Federal Capital Territory. The incumbent member of the
House from the constituency, Zaphania Jissalo, emerged victorious in the
    primary.

Mr. Jissalo got 89 votes out of the 107 cast to defeat Ms. Osori and three others.

Ms. Osori, who was presented with the membership card of the APC,
told journalists she decided to defect after watching the APC primary
because she believed in APC’s vice presidential candidate, Yemi
Osibanjo, who was her lecturer at one time.

“I decided to denounce membership after watching the APC conduct its
presidential primary in a fair and competitive manner and after seeing
the combination of Osibanjo and Buhari, both men of integrity,” Ms.
    Osori said.

“Osibanjo used to teach me at the University of Lagos, faculty of
law, I believe that is a great combination that would move the country
forward and I want to be part of that team,’’ she said.

According to her, the APC slogan “Change” is enough reason to support
the party as she was sure of winning the on the platform of APC.

Ms. Osori noted that more than 70 per cent of Nigerians were youth who wanted the change that “APC represents’’.

On what her contribution would be to ensure the success of the APC at
the general elections, Ms. Osori, who leads the non-governmental
organization, Nigerian Women’s Trust Fund, cited experience.

“The years of experience I garnered in the private sector as a lawyer
and also as writer, first with Thisday and later with Leadership
newspapers, will be of value to APC.

Reacting to the defection, the APC National Secretary, Mai-Mala Buni,
who presented the membership card to Ms. Osori, expressed delight
because his party was waxing stronger by the day.

“Such event will be a continuous thing. Our doors are open.
Everybody, who is ready to join the party, is welcome anytime, any
    day,’’ he said.

    (NAN)

    EDITOR’S NOTE: This
post has been updated to reflect the fact that Ms. Osori actually lost
the PDP primary in the FCT contrary to the despatch sent us by the News
Agency of Nigeria, which suggested she won.

    • Alcindo Satori

Are you serious?! They’ve joined sahara reporters now? Yorubas are so flaky and dishonest, it is sickening.

      • the truth

I can’t count how many lies these apc and propaganda times have ditched and people are still getting brainwashed. It took me writing the editor, threatening them with a phone call before they for the first time apologized and gave a rejoinder. They are a sponsored paper with atiku as a major backer, let any of them deny this and evidences will be brought to show atiku and lie lie mohammed with his suncraft media group are the mouth piece of premium times, enough of this lies

        • Alcindo Satori

haha!! Don’t let them (yorubas and fulanis) get to you bro! Our president is not about talk but action. And our job is to ensure that he’s back another 4 years. When you think about the alternative? What alternative by the way?? We have non.

          • Tonnero

When you talk, you leave no doubt about where you are from. Your people are so focused on dividing Nigerians along religious and ethnic lines and are not the least interested in uniting people which is what you need in a multi ethnic, multi-religious country. You claim to be Christians but the works of your hand are designed from the very pits of hell. You peddle falsehood and hate. But, you know what? You and your people will not succeed. You can prevail for a season but you will ultimately be defeated and put in your place. Your end will be ignoble and you shall rue the day you covered yourselves with the cloak of perfidy.

  • Alcindo Satori

I wonder what the news caption would’ve been if buhari were the president. More like; “Nigeria authenticates its credentials as a terrorist state.” LOL! Man, I thank God Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan is the president of my beloved country, Nigeria; and shall remain there until 2019. Don’t like GEJ? Chad/Niger/Sudan welcomes you!

    • Save Nigeria Father

In as much as I share your sentiment as a Christian, Nigeria is a secular state and every member of this nation must be carried along on taking decisions that affects her.

      • Alcindo Satori

Candidates in elections need to be thoroughly scrutinized — and their positions brought to bare — to ensure every citizen makes the right decision at the voting booth. That said, I cannot fathom the thoughts of casting my vote, or allowing well meaning Nigerians to cast their votes for someone who calls for establishment of sharia in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. ImpossiCan’t!!

    • Curtis

You Africans need a reorientation. Israel is a Jewish State not a Christian State, and they hate Christianity like a hell. They call your Jesus a common criminal who’s burning in hell fire right now. And they see Christians as people following lies. It’s strange that you nigerians could support Israel based on religion.

  • Mo

The nigeria’s incumbent administration clearly defrauded Palestine!

His hatred for muslims drove him to support Israel’s ethnic cleansing and apartheid regime!

The middle Eastern Muslims are the largest source of FDI into nigeria!

    • Andy Olude

move to Chad/Sudan?Niger Republic/Libya?Tunisia/Egypt. They’ll welcome you with open arms.

      • Save Nigeria Father

Your comment is a display of injustice and infringement on his fundamental human right of choice of religion unless on altar of religion we can decide to sacrifice our great nation.

        • the truth

Mo’s comment had no justification or premise but a fallacious statement that lacks evidence to incite religious hatred. And you siding with him is a testament of your sympathy to his statement.

          • Save Nigeria Father

Nigeria is a secular state and decisions should be without any religious bias. If I do what Christ ask me to do, it is his duty to prove himself. The God that answers by fire, let him be God.

        • Andy Olude

And I can exercise my fundamental right of speech! How about that?! …and what the heck do you know about injustice and infringement?

          • Save Nigeria Father

Good you exercise your right but try to be considerate for others aswell.

      • amazing2012

So you think is right to support killing muslims and Christians of Palestinian origin ? Where did you read this ? Pagans in the name of Christianity !

        • Leonard Halstead

You are of your father the devil the father of all lies. Israel has never killed Palestinian Christians…in fact it is the Fakestinian Muslims that are killing the Arab and other ethnic Christians. Bethlehem was a Christian town with 80 percent Christian and 20 percent Muslim, today there are less that 20 percent Christians but the Muslim population have grown to more than 80 percent. Most of these Chrstians have fled into Israel proper or immigrated overseas. Enough with your lies !

          • amazing2012

Many christians were killed by the Jews including a friend of mine. The Jews are not christians and cannot be, jews believed not in our Jesus but expecting another saviour. Please Google christians killed by the Jews, you can see. Again Google ancient churches destroyed by the Jews. Some years back when the Jews started their killing campaign against the Arabs, most of them hide in the church of Nativity which was partial destroyed by Isreal rockets.
Google Alaqsa Martyrs brigade you can also have knowledge in the involvement of christians to liberate their lands from thieves. Google: “we killed Jesus we are proud of it” etc.
The muslims and christians Arabs were living peacefully with one another than sudden the Jews creates politics of divide by issuing “recognition status of the christians” and use them to fight the remaining muslims. Chrsitians as usual become Judas against their blood relations. This attitudes of hypocracy exposed christians and put them in danger at the hand of any terror mind. They are easy targeted as representative of American interest. With America/Jews/christians conspiracy against the armless civilians sure more chirstians will be martyred at he hand of extremist, trained and supplies weapons by the USA.
ISIS is a creation of America, who trained anx give them weapons as freedom fighters group to topple Asad just like what they did in Libya, Iraq, Afghanistan etc. later when the groups decided to change the cause of their struggle/ American ambition the USA regards them as enemies and terrorist as usual. Only animal like you can see or research, Google” Hilary Clinton confession on ALQAIDA” on Utube. You can see( if you are not blind) and hear (if you are not daft) how ALQAIDA was form to aid the disintegration of Russia the. Later they become problem to the world.
When God tell Israel to settle in their ancestors land did he said they should not live or have neighbors ?

Please research before you comment to confirm ignorance.

          • 9jaNinja

You are just an Islamist. Stop pretending to be speaking in support of Christians. You are an Islamic bigot.

          • amazing2012

Assumed I am an Islamists, answer the questions:
Did the bible ask christians to kill Muslims ? Yes please quote the place in the bible !

    • Leonard Halstead

You think the Nigerian administration should love Muslims (which begat Boko Haram) who kidnapped and raped hundreds of Nigerian school girls and murdered thousands of African civilians ? Do Muslims deserve to be loved ? I think not! FYI the opposite is true. Islam has murdered millions of Muslims, Christians and minorities, whereas Israel has helped the world overcome hunger, poverty, calamities and sickness. Israeli technologies have produced cures, developed solar and wind energy, modern agriculture, modern medicine, computer and communications technology helping usher in a better 21st century. Israel has helped Millions of victims of natural disasters in Japan, Haiti, and Indo-China. Tell me one Arab Muslim nation that have helped save countless lives in many countries around the world. Tell me one Muslim country that has donated Millions of dollars to help mankind other than their own Muslim counterparts ? Study social history both old and new and learn the truth instead of looking for someone and something to blame for the woes of Islam.

  • Mo

Nigeria’s current administration duped Palestinian officials! No integrity whatsoever!
The Middle East is a major source of FDI into Nigeria: they should place an embargo of sorts on this administration!

    • Otile

No, present Nigerian govt does not use taqiyya. Deception is for Muslim rulers.

      • amazing2012

OTILE the English slave: this is the worst begging administration in the history of Nigeria.

        • Otile

Who is a slave to English people, an independent Igbo man or a compromising Fulani?

Our cousin President Jonathan has done more for Nigeria than all your looting rulers put together.

          • amazing2012

Oh you are Igbo ? No wonder you are cursed !

          • Otile

I am a blessed Igbo man. Thank God.

You are an Ismaelite, accursed from above.

          • Curtis

It’s very clear that you Africans (Nigerians) are less advanced in knowledge and exposure. I find it strange that Christians can be supporting Israel. That’s a serious madness. The Jews prefer even the Moslems to Christians. They always say ‘we killed your Jesus and we are proud of it’. They see Christians as fools whose religion is based on lies and fantasy. That’s the fact and you can go and find out.

          • Leonard Halstead

Excuse me Curtis but that is an outright lie. Israel is the only place in the Middle-East where Christianity is growing. Most Christians in the Arab Muslim world are either gone or will vanish by the end of the decade, probably even earlier with the Allah worshippers ISIS and Boko Haram killing them by the thousands.

          • Otile

This is your opinion, not necessarily the opinion of most Jews people. I have also heard your quotation from neo-nazis and Ku Klux Clan. These people hate blacks, Jews and Catholics with passion. Some of their comments are even worse than yours.

Please keep your own opinion to yourself, I will keep mine.

          • amazing2012

When your father dead did your mum drink the dead body wash water to probe her innocence ?

          • Otile

Write English, aboki. I can’t understand you.

  • Fairgame

Wise decision Mr president.

    • Otile

The godless does not know this fact.

      • amazing2012

        are you Godly !

    • A. A

Unless people. If I may ask, who crucified Jesus Christ, the leader of the Christendom? Do you think, you Christians, Your Lord Jesus will be happy with you when he returns, after your blind support for his persecutors ?

    • amazing2012

Can I claim your land using the book you do not believe ? Where did God says in he Bible that Jews should not have neighbors ? Or they should kill women and children ?
Jews are not chrisitians and will never be while your attitude is not christian but antichrist. When southern Sudan request for independence from Sudan all the christian world supported it now the Palestinians were denied and you are happy deceiving yourself that you share similarity with the Jews. Jews and Saudis are not and will never be your friends. Seek and support justice, fairness and equity ! Not religious bigotry and hate instead of love. What do you achieve now that some people are under bondage and slavery among them christians ?

      • Otile

You are Fulani. Where did Allah command your marauding ancestors to leave the Futa Jallon highlands and wander into continent Nigeria to displace the inhabitant Hausas and Kebbis. When did Allah mandate you to defeat our Yorubas brothers, chase away their Oba Afonja and make the area known as Kwara you home? When did Beelzebub ordain your tribesmen as born-to-rule and if you don’t Nigeria becomes ungovernable?

Israel has more right in that place than the Fulani should have in continent Nigeria. For your own good take what you have grabbed so far and leave everybody to live in peace. Don’t start any war by insisting that a Fulani illiterate must rule or else…

        • amazing2012

You know why I always refer you as cursed ? Because you always in your submission confront God and question his wish and authority. You mentioned Fulani and show how you hate them. Who made the Fulanis ? Your father ? Do they choose to be Fulanis ? You are directly questioning God desire ! Do you choose to be what you are ? OTILE you need medicine !

          • Otile

You are the cursed one, the offspring of Ismael, the cursed one. Don’t try to pass your curse on to someone else, it will not stick. You are stuck with your congenital curse for life, live with it.

God did not create Fulanis to oppress their neighbors. Why can’t you people live and let live? You did not choose to be Fulani but you choose to behave the way you do. Drop your arrogance, oppression and greed, the world will be a better place for all of us.

Who told you I have Fulanis? What I hate is your arrogance and aggression. Ka ji ko?

I need evidence from what you claimed to be, that any of the offspring of Abraham is a cursed !

Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, love your enemies bless those who curse you do good to them that hate you and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you” OTILE is pagan !
          Qoutes something !!

        • Mamman

Because of the way and manner you hide all traces of your ancestry, its always difficult to properly place you. However Otile, based on your post above,it is abundantly clear that apart from the destructive envy that you have for the Fulani, your tribe is evidently, horribly backward. You and your people were/are so docile and dumb that you had no idea of what it means to travel. When you travel, you meet new cultures, people, terrain and great opportunities for trade. The education you acquire help in shaping your thoughts, ideas and vision which ultimately encourage you to become a change agent. You change the ideas and ideology of peoples & cultures which you are convinced need tampering with. These are the things that change the world. These are the things that made Christian Missionaries spread Christianity. Made tge Europeans colonize the entire world starting from America. That is why Islam spread from Medina to Siberia and to the Cape of Good Hope. That was why the Fulanis conquered these territories you always mention. The opposite is why you people are still living in the creeks looking exactly as you looked a thousand years ago.

          • Otile

For your information, I am not hiding anything from you, I am an open-minded citizen. I see myself as a good Christian man. I was born Christian, and I hate anybody. What I hate is bad behavior from some people.

Our people are not backward as you are trying to imply. My people are well traveled, well educated and are not doing badly in any sense. So, I am not what you think, again I don’t brag like you people. I give glory to God for what He has done for me and my people.

Do not compare the Islamic Fulani conquest with European colonization. The Europeans went into colonies, brought in education, governments, languages, civilization, medicine, engineering and many good things that uplift mankind. The Fulanis on the other hand wander about, killing native hosts, acquiring their lands and property, islamizing them willy-nilly. The Fulanis brought nothing of value to their hosts. The Fulanis themselves are still backward, nomadic, and uneducated, yet they want to rule everybody.

Come to my place and compare it with your Fulani dirty environment then you will begin to have some respect for my people.

          • Tonnero

You are backing up the wrong tree once again. Assuming that the Fulanis did it, does that make it right for Israel to it also?

    • Sokamad

It is an opportunity to learn a little about Islam if ur mind is open. Get the English translation of Qur’an and read chapter 17. The title of the chapter is NIGHT JOURNEY. The prophet of the religion was not just physically in Qudus (Jerusalem) he actually perform an act of worship before proceeding on the most important journey in the history of religion…….. please no abuses if u choose to reply/respond, let keep it civil.

    • Tonnero

Do not forget that Abraham was from Ur which is in today’s Iraq. He arrived Canaan and obtained some of the land by trickery. Who do you think we’re the original inhabitants of Canaan? Where are they today? Seeing that both Jews and Arabs claim Abraham as their progenitor, why do you people take sides instead of being just in this fight between brothers?

  • endingNaija

I have read some of the ignorantand traitorous posts here and I wish to say that there are irreducible bottom lines in the whole Israeli/Palestinian issue and the feeding of religion into how Nigeria relates to the two geographical sites of the roots of the two religions-Islam and Christianity.
    1. No Israeli citizen of any extraction will ever put his country Israel behind or below Nigeria in any situation. For the Israeli citizen, it is Israel first and Nigeria second.
    2. No Saudi Arabian citizen of any extraction will ever put his country behind or below Nigeria in any situation. For the Saudi citizen, it is Saudi Arabia first and Nigeria second.
    3. So any Nigerian Christian who puts Nigeria and Nigerian interests behind Israel under ANY situation or circumstance is A TRAITOR to the Nigerian people and such person should be treated as such-whether Pastor or no Pastor.
    4. So any Nigerian Muslim who puts Nigeria and Nigerian interests behind Saudi Arabia under ANY situation or circumstance is a TRAITOR to the Nigerian people and such person should be treated as such whether Alhaji or no Alhaji or Imam or no Imam.
There is NO CONDITION under which Saudi Arabia and Israel which are mere historical sites of the origins of the two religions-Islam and Christianity- should be made prior to Nigeria and the interests of Nigerian people the way some traitorous and treacherous Muslims and Christians who are religious bigots do. That these two countries are mere historical origins of the two religions means nothing for true faith in God and true belief in God other than the fact they are historical origins.
These are the bottom lines and they are non-negotiable.

  • ddearborn

    Hmmm

Funny how the article fails to mention the final overall vote tally isn’t it; 138 in favor and only 9 against including Israel and the US. So in point of fact the overwhelming majority were in favor of Palestine, but the super majority votes granted the “security council” overrule the majority. The article goes to some trouble to hide these facts from the reader. And just to refresh everyone’s memory here, Israel has been pumping money into Nigeria of late. I am sure that is just a coincidence however.

    • Tunsj

Also, the US has a veto power,

      • umolu

But it was symbolic enough to be noticed.

        • Sokamad

It was not symbolic. Because Netanyahu and his american jewish group supporting him has a basis to claim Nigeria is in support of their last genocide in gaza and can also expect jonathan in their camp in anything they choose to do going forward.

        • Tunsj

          You are right.

      • Tonnero

You are right. However, it would have carried a lot of symbolic weight and the USA would have been forced to use its veto and maybe anger its Arab allies.

        • Tunsj

          Agreed.

      • Sokamad

Then Jonathan gov’t should have voted in a way that gives the Americans the joy of protecting their ”best” friend in the middle east. The vote Jonathan cast gives Netanyahu reason to claim Nigeria support what they are doing to the Palestinians…… and what the Israelis are doing is a basic affront to our collective humanity, if you oppose apartheid in south Africa, you can not agree with the israeli behaviour. What goes around comes around.

    • Tonnero

The fact of the matter is that Israel is a rogue state and it is maintained only by the supported from the USA where it has arm twisted US politicians due to its massive financial clout in US elections. Essentially, the Israeli tail is wagging the US dog.

  • Lion 3

It is so pathetic that the government of nigeria has decided to stand shoulder to shoulder with a country (Israel) that was an arch supporter of apartheid south africa. a country that shamelessly had boots on the ground in rhodesia, south africa and south west africa (namibia) for the sole aim of maintaining white racial segregation against those african countries black people.

it is worth noting that when we suffered under white rule in southern africa, it is Palestinians under yassir Arafat, and Cuba under Fidel Castrol that stood heads and shoulders above the rest to ensure that white racist rulers did not succeeded in their plans to rule southern Africa for ever. the united states considered us collateral damage in its cold war fight with the soviet union, therefore, did not care a jot about black nationalist leaders voice, hence chose to listen to the racist white regimes lies about Russia and China trying to spread communism in Southern Africa they were fighting communism in order to gain willing and uncritical support from uncle sam who quickily branded national liberation fighters as terrorists – a factor laid bare by the FBI trapping Mandela for arrest by the racist regime, and by the US keeping him on their terrorist list till 1996. Nigeria, instead of showing leadership in africa by not buckling to selfish US interests joins US puppet and genocide regime of Rwanda in supporting Israel in its racist fight to keep palestinians as perpertual refugees because they believe dialog should be given priority??

Why did Benjamin netanyau turn down an invitation to attend Mandela’s funeral? He gave the red herring of expense yes, but we also know its most probably because he’s hurt Mandela ended up an international statesmen and hero.

    • amazing2012

Thank you: Jonathan is daft, his believed is that servng Israel is serving God. He fails to know the difference between politics and religion. The three Religions originates only from the Middle East, but all the systems both muslims, Jews and Christians are protecting their political interest. Nigeria is known as a vanguard of justice now Jonathan has destroyed all our virtues. Nigeria should have vote for justice and fairness not interest of others because of faith not equality, human rights and justice. Jonathan is the worst that can happen to a nation. His time will be remembered as the worst system ever witness. How can you support Israel or Saudi against justice because of faith? If Jesus is alive can he choose enslavement of Palestinians (both muslims and Christians ).? Can he support continuation of war ? Can he support killing of women and children in thousands ? This is the extent Jonathan’s government has become used by religious bigots. Shamed !

    • endingNaija

This is a good reflection and it is good information for those who suffer historical amnesia. But do you think Goodluck Jonathan campaigners on this platform such as otile/the “truth”/oleku/fairgame/Valiant/Alcindo Satori/Nwa Aba Biafran have any capacity for this kind of deep thought which require Nigerians and Africans to put Nigerian interests first and African interests first before any other-both Israeli and Saudi? I believe we are dealing with religious bigots, traitors, traders and business men who are ready to put Nigeria behind and below Israel and Saudi Arabia in all things. I am sure these bigots will see Mohammed in every Saudi even if the Saudi is an atheist and Jesus Christ in every Israeli even if the Israeli is an atheist. That is the level of thoughtlessness the poverty inflicted by the Jonathan administration on NIgerians has reduced members of the Nigerian middle class to. These members of the Nigerian middle class -otile Reno omokri/oleku/the “truth”/Alcindo Satori/Gideon Orkar ought to be well informed but what they eat under this corrupt regime has turned them to something else-religious bigots and traitors to the Nigerian people in favor of a foreign country. The so-called Christians among them will sell Nigeria to Israel anyday and the so-called muslims will sell Nigeria to Saudi Arabia. The reason I like this PT story is that it has allowed these people to show that they are traitors to the Nigerian cause and that they will sell Nigeria to israel and Saudi Arabia any day. Too bad for these groups of Nigerians. Anyway thanks for your thoughtful and historical post. Happy New Year!

Chukwuka, I am a Muslim and yes buhari was in Saudi Arabia recently for state visit but I am completely ignorant of his dealings over there aside the picture of him at the Muslim shrine praying along with senior clerics from his host. Please educate me why you think he has sold us out.

This is a process that has been going on steadily since the 1980s. We were brought in unilaterally to the OIC in 1986 and a document called the Abuja Declaration was signed in 1989. The declaration would be for the spread of Islamic interests throughout Africa with Nigeria the launching pad. In 1999/2000 the 12 states declared Sharia with a governor declaring that he wanted Sharia spread to every state with a Muslim population. He also said that Saudi Arabia is the model he wants. Buhari was alleged to have said in 2001 that he will also support the spread of Sharia throughout Nigeria. You should be aware that Nasir El-Rufai and several other governors from the North went to Saudi Arabia to get Sharia complaint loans from the Islamic Development Bank. Sharia complaint banking made its debut on October 26th 2015. Now, if it were not for the previous events in the 1980s and 1990s, I would not have been charging Buhari of an agenda. I am the furthest thing from an Islamophobe or someone who fears Muslims in contrast to some of the comments you may have seen. But it is not hard to see that in the future, some in the Northern establishment would try to bring Sharia to the federal level and Saudi Arabia really has an interest in seeing this occur.

          • Sokamad

I see that you worry a lot about ”islamization” of Nigeria than you need to. What has become of those ”Shari’a” declarations in the 12 states anyway? When you look back now, it seem more like some guy in gusau looking to gain easy access to prominence by tapping into religious Capitals by positioning himself against a Christian president. The governors going to Saud are merely looking for soft loans, and if it is in china, Japan, Korea or Iran it is available, that is fine, if the central bank vets and approve it. Cameroon, our neighbour to the east are in the IOC, but the membership does not elicits the kind of negative connotation in the south of the country, though I will agree that the politicians here have been exploiting our religious fault lines……….. lots of religiosity all over but little true practice..

          • Chukwuka Okoroafor

Perhaps you should read “Failed State: Nigeria 2030 – A Case Study” which is on a PDF and read the report ‘Paths to Failure’ as you scroll down. Again, I would not worry too much about the soft loans or the Sharia complaint system if not for the events of 1986, 1989, and 1999/2000. Besides, now the Sharia has been reactivated in those states. I know that they weakened shortly after being called. You should understand that this is a parallel legal system and it will not last like that. The hope from here is a baby boom in the North as well as laws to suppress proselytism. Kaduna now has such a law on the books. There is resistance to political reform from the top of the Northern establishment (note that there are some who do want reform but not at the very top). With the result of the baby boom, they will wish for Southerners to preside over a new form of corruption so the Northern establishment can then blame them for nearly destroying the work they hope Buhari can do. Then Sharia will be sold as a solution to the corruption. This is not inconceivable.

          • Sokamad

I searched for the PDF but could not locate it, please help provide a link I can click to read it. All the same, doomsday prediction about Nigeria is nothing new. The country was projected to break up in 2015 violently and the last election was heading in that direction but here we are battling with dare economic problems. Let starts being positive and looking out for one another. Be careful what you wish for, you might just get it and it may come to haunt you.

          • Chukwuka Okoroafor

I found it on google but just in case, here is the link http://www(.)au(.)af(.)mil/au/awc/awcgate/cst/csat67(.)pdf (just get rid of the parenthesis around the dots).

I wish to be positive. I do not believe in breaking up Nigeria if it will surprise you to know. I agree we should be looking out for each other. We should do so by pushing for a restructuring of Nigeria so the center is not as strong or attractive. At the end, Sharia is all about controlling the oil and achieving absolute power. Enjoy reading the report. I think it is very revealing. As for the 2015 prediction, there are some who are trying to fulfill it now. Boko Haram and the election could not do it so now we have Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB attempting their turn (and this is all for oil also at its core). This is not over yet. I believe that God’s hand is on Nigeria but we should not continue to take things for granted.

          • Sokamad

Ok, will try the Google. The presidency in Nigeria is virtual imperial with too much power concentration or we lack the sophistry to operate the borrowed governance methods, it is the reason the election for the position always become theatrical and violent. Devolution of power should be a panacea for that but when you carefully look at the states and the way the governors are behaving it make you wonder if vesting more power in them is not going to create some 36 dangerous warlords. Whatever form the restructuring you advocated should take, it is important to guarantee full citizenship rights everywhere for all even if it is being abused. The book haram and kanu phenomenon are also not new, they are strains of the ”araba” and ”biafra” of the 1960s. Which suggests we have not done much to enhance the mutual accommodation but have been exploiting tribal/religious diversity. Perhaps God’s hand may be on Nigeria, but we need to start doing to continue to deserve His guidance. It is not enough to beg for Grace/Mercy, you also need to be worthy of it.

          • Chukwuka Okoroafor

Absolutely. But decentralizing power will reduce tribal tensions (at least where elections are concerned) and will at least bring governance closer to the people. With a more active citizenry, they will be able to put even more pressure on their local government chairmen and their governor than the president.

          • Sokamad

May be. The reality is we were operating that model in the 1960s but inter tribal tensions were still dangerously high. So, going forward, any restructuring needs to ensure that a regional /provincial/state leader(s) do not become too powerful to seek dominance over others. We may need to formalize the six zonal format.and collapse/merge some of the unviable states….I read a review of the PDF document you refer and it is a rework of the one by the cia that predicted 2015 disintegration only that they have shift the goal post by 15yrs. We need to change course and start doing the right things and the authors agree we will be fine.

          • Chukwuka Okoroafor

Yes and I think the six zone structure is where we will end up going at the end.

          • Sokamad

That will add one more layer of governance. The current states/local governments should be into one level….. we are agreed on many things you see!. we only need to keep our head on our shoulders and seek common ground on the more difficult issues.

          • Chukwuka Okoroafor

The question is will the Northern establishment see it this way? Well as I am thinking, they may be forced to go in this direction.

          • Sokamad

Is that the flag of biafra I see by your name?.

          • Chukwuka Okoroafor

It is the Nigerian flag that was originally designed by Taiwo Akinkunmi in 1959. It had that red sun in the middle and from what I understand it is to mean divine protection. Sadly this one was not accepted.

          • Sokamad

Ohh!, how cute?. I have always thought the colour Red should have been on the Nigerian flag. Do you know the reason the star was removed and the proportion of the greens on the edge increased?.

          • Chukwuka Okoroafor

The picture did not come out correctly. The green was always the same size. I am not sure why it was removed and I don’t think Akinkunmi knows either. It was the judges that picked the flag but with the sun removed.

          • Sokamad

I suspect it was trimmed at the edges in symmetry because it will not fit into the space allotted for ur pix/symbol. Based on what you said about the star, I will speculate it likely removed for religious objections coming from northern region officialdom

          • Chukwuka Okoroafor

What do you mean by that? Could you elaborate further?

          • Sokamad

There are two components in my last post. Which one do you not understand that needs elaboration?. The flag trimming or probable religious objection to the star on the flag?.

          • Chukwuka Okoroafor

            The religious objection.

          • Sokamad

Again it is speculative. In my first post I declared my faith. What you said the star represented can be stretched to imply sun worshiping. The northern region is strongly leaning Islamic. The other two regional leadership were strongly leaning Christians. The northern leadership is the one likely to have religious objection………. operative mode is question everything and shoot down anything vague/objectionable.

          • Chukwuka Okoroafor

Maybe perhaps something was not clear to them about what the sun meant. I mean God could be the light and God’s light protects and blesses those who are under his light. Somebody did not defend their position if that is the case.

          • Sokamad

We are all sons and daughters of the sun. The only star in our solar system totally dominates our lives whether we worship it or not…. but you have also assume a tone that is investigating my speculation as a fact. Its about time we end this conversation. Bye.

          • Chukwuka Okoroafor

So you think that I was saying that we are worshiping the Sun?

    • George

Did the so called South Africans ever appreciate Nigerians thereafter, GEJ did well in this Muslims can’t be trusted.

      • solozo

Why is there so much religious hatred in this country? Even a matter of inter.state diplomacy has to be reduced to a religious war? I am a Christian but I wonder if Nigeria is a Christian country. Last time I checked the Constitution, it said Nigeria is a secular state. If a Muslim leader took a decision on the basis of Islam, we would scream that they want to islamize the country. If our President – a Christian takes a decision motivated by his christian faith, we would hail and say it is the right thing to do. I do not know what is hypocrisy if not this attitude. Our government and officials need to learn to separate religion from governance and make decisions based on what is best for this country. If the Ministry of Foreign Affairs thinks this is the best way, then kudos. It should not have anything to do with religion please.

        • Benicio

Couldn’t have said it any better

    • 9jaNinja

South Africa hasn’t shown Nigeria any gesture of appreciation for helping to liberate them from apartheid. Instead what we have got in return is envy, hatred and sabotage, culminating in the frustrating our government’s efforts to procure arms from SA for fighting Boko Haram. We should have simply folded our arms and watched as the apartheid regime crush your rebellious and treacherous spirits. Phools. I stand with the Nigerian govt. on this decision to back Isreal.

      • Auwalu Umaouru

Keep talking. when they scream at you calling you a gentile and a mongrel destined to be ruled by they..God’s chosen people. you will conjure up another praise for them.

    • Leonard Halstead

How did a toothless Fakestinian (Palestinian) under the terrorists Yassah Arafat help S. Africa ? In what capacity as a recognized terrorist regime the PLO diplomatically aided S.Africa ? FYI it is recorded history that Israeli Jews helped and stood by Nelson Mandela while in prison. The lawyers that defended him in his court trials were Israeli Jews. These Jews also helped him write up his many speeches and arguments against the white S, African government. Israel helped and aided S. Africa on its road to gaining independence, with agriculture, water, solar energy and other technologies. Yassah Arafat plied his way into Nelson Mandela’s life to try and get his support for a Fakestinian state…Mandela like all politically correct politicians around the world agreed that there should be dialog to help the Fakestinians gain autonomy but was as vocal in calling for a safe and recognized Jewish state.

      • Bibi

Please know that the so-called rulers of Israel are terrorists. And the state of Israel was founded by terrorists. You need to check your history very well before you talk. Look at the facts please. I am talking historical facts here. Terrorism founded the modern day Israel. Please deny and dispute my submission with FACTS.

      • Auwalu Umaouru

Just so you know, we don’t think of all Jews as Zionists. Lots of African jews have helped africa, why shouldn;t they? Its their continent! they are Africans!!!
        But:
“To the many people who have questioned why I came, I say: Israel worked very closely with the apartheid regime. I say: I’ve made peace with many men who slaughtered our people like animals.”- Nelson Mandela (1999)
Personally, the vela incident comes to mind. You gave the racists nukes so they could kill blacks, how disgusting

        • Guest

You are aware that Israel helped South Africa because you black Africans boycotted Israel in the 70s. It is your fault, it takes two to tango. You also condemned Israel for standing up to Islamic terrorism, now you get a taste of your own medicine with Boko Haram. Remember, it starts with the Jews, then it spreads, see Naziism, now see Islamic terrorism. If you don’t stop it when it starts with the Jews, it will eventually come to you.

          • ColorsOfAlgebra

You don’t even know what Islamic terrorism is. You hate people you don’t know and then you hire someone else to kill them is Mob. To kill them for corp profit is to whore. 1/2 Israelis are handicapped. 80 % live in poverty

        • ColorsOfAlgebra

I’ve made peace with many men who slaughtered our people like animals.”- Nelson Mandela (1999)

      • Tonnero

Your calling them Fakestinian or terrorist does not change the substantive issues which is that they did not accept the creation of an Israeli state in their midst where there was none. And in the resulting fight, Israeli captured even more land in 1967 beyond the UN defined State of Israel and have since herded the Palestinians into “bantustans” in the West Bank and Gaza where they are subject to the most vicious oppression conceivable.

Furthermore, you confuse the actions of Israeli citizens with that of the Israeli State. While it may be true that Israeli citizens as individuals rendered invaluable support to the Apartheid struggle while the Palestinians were only able to support South Africa symbolically since they had little capacity of their own beyond that, it was clear that the ISRAELI STATE supported South Africa. But, if we stay with the principles, it is our MORAL obligation as HUMANS that people that are oppressed, whose lands have been taken by force of arms and who Are rendered impotent and powerless MUST be supported whether these people are in Palestine, Rwanda, South Africa, Kuwait, or in Crimea.

        • ColorsOfAlgebra

The original agreement is broken under all terms by the state of Israel. Palestine will win in court. The US needs to stop handing off tax payer money to Israel. the majority of Israelis’ likewise live in poverty

      • Lion 3

Unfortunately you are talking as an arm chair observer. I saw Israeli soldiers (boots on the ground) on the ground in rural rhodesia in 1977 (specifically the Hurungwe area of then Rhodesia). who doesn’t know that in its sanctions bursting efforts, Ian Smith’s Rhodesia got what it wanted via? FYI, Zimbabwean liberation fighters (alongside their south african counterparts got air combat training from the PLO. Yes the PLO.

By the way you describe Palestinians youy clearly show you stinking racist disposal.
palestinians did not gas any Jews in ausqwitz and other places in europe, so why do treat them as if they did any harm to you? if jews had lived as refugees for 50 years anywhere in the world, how would you feel? you people are the worst of the world’s racists and you hide behind the holocaust which your current victims had nothing to do with.

        • ColorsOfAlgebra

Again today, South Africa needs Israel to get out of town. They are not their as visitors, but as cops, as they are all over the globe. Somehow, we must discourage citizens from using guns out of an imagined fear, for food, or any reason, if Israel will profit.

    • ColorsOfAlgebra

Not the people, Israeli Cops (BOKOHARAM) and Jonathan. Israel is about to vote for a new Prime Minister . He and jonathan will soon be insignificant, together. They will never fight man to man for themselves, they will pay someone else to do it, using other’s capital, that they control. When the US voted Obama in, they said we demand change, the people were voting Israel out of the US.

  • Sokamad

I am a Nigerian and that the government of goodluck Jonathan cast that vote on my behalf is extremely difficult for to reconcile with the despair and despondency that I went through during the recent genocide by the Israelis in Gaza recently that played out before my eye and the world on TV screen. Their is plenty to chew here.

    • Doniel Vaccianna

      There was no genocide.
First the areas bombed were all locations where terror rockets were stored or launched from.
Second, the IDF warns civilians to leave before it bombs using leaflets, phone calls, and “roof knockers” that shake a building that is to be bombed without damaging it, giving civilians time to get out.
Thirdly, the dead were overwhelmingly military age males, and most have been confirmed to be Hamas militia members using Hamas’s own websites.
If there was genocide, how is it most of the killed were positively identified to be terrorists?

      • Sokamad

Doniel. you are entitled to your opinion but not your own FACTS, we are very aware of whom the victims were. we sat watching on tv as you guys wanted us to watched, as you ”mesmerised” us with your latest fancy weapons of murder against defenseless families. if what you guys are doing in gaza and west bank does not qualify as mass murder (genocide) and terrorism, then it will be a struggle to throw up anything that meet those terms.

  • Emmanuel Mok

At a time it is at war Nigeria can not afford to take sides with nations and causes that do not guarantee its vision for international harmony, peace, security and equal rights for all people’s and nations. While we hope for a Palestinian state in which the Palestinian will live in freedom, peace and security. They must renounce terrorism. They must accept the two state solution. All Palestinian groups; fatah, hamas, plo etc must recognise Isreal and it’s right to existence. You can not put the horse before the cart. They can not be drilling tunnels underground into Isreal and kidnapping Isrealis or shooting rockets into Isreal and hope for a state of their own. They must be bound by the rules of international conduct. If not then Isreal reserves the right to protect and to defend it’s self and people.

    • Tonnero

With due respect, you do not know what you are talking about. You must have heard the saying that one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter. While I do not support the killing and maiming of innocent men, women and children, remember that Israel itself was founded based on terrorism. The ANC and Mandela were once labelled terrorists. When you occupy someone’s land, herd them into a small space, build fences to keep them in and subject them to some of the most brutal forms of oppression, you leave them little choice but to find every way to strike back at you even if only symbolic. Out local saying captures it with “you cannot beat a child and also forbid it from crying”. In this modern age, seizing people’s land because you are stronger CANNOT be supported else you should also be supporting Russia’s annexation of Crimea, Sadam’s adventure in Kuwait etc. the Israelis, as a first step, need to stop claiming lands that were not part of Israel before the 1967 war. They need to stop believing that continuing to build on those lands makes it irreversible Israeli land. That is the first step. If you want the child to stop crying, you have to stop flogging first.

      • Adam

Under what basis for Israel have to give up the claim to post-67 land? The war was a defensive one, giving them real claim to the land, and Israel already gave back the whole Sinai peninsula. Also, from my understanding, morals are not relative. Saying that this situation in “this modern age” is not permissible make no sense. This is the way countries have been formed for thousands of years. Not only is Israel’s claim to the land longer standing than anyone give them credit for (the Jewish kingdom of Israel odd not exactly a new idea), but we already know that a Palestinian state will not allow one Jew to live in its borders (based on Abbas’s words), while there are plenty of Palestinians living in Israel. And do you think that ending the building settlements will create more peace? Just look what happened after the Gaza withdrawal.

      • Doniel Vaccianna

To be a “freedom fighter”, you have to be actually fighting for freedom.
What is the PLO and Hamas fighting to create?
We don’t have to wonder, we have their own words.
The PLO and Hamas would create a state in which Jews and other religious minorities are oppressed or worse barred completely. They would create a state which gays and apostates are executed.
They would create a terror state that would attack Israel the moment it is formed just as Gaza has, and would not stop until every Jews is driven from the country, just as both Hamas and the PLO have declared in their Arabic speeches.

Here is the Contract that you are referring to

  • anarchyst

    …how many shekels changed hands?

  • anarchyst

…for those who deplore the practice of “apartheid”, this system was necessary to keep the normally-warring tribes from slaughtering each other and to help provide a stable society in the Republic of South Africa.
Despite the supposed “evils” of apartheid, the influx of blacks INTO South Africa was great, as this country was able to (and did) provide opportunities for all. Foodstuffs grown in South Africa were plentiful and widely available. Apartheid made it possible for ALL races to work together…Were there abuses? Of course, there were, just as abuses are present in every country in the world today–no country is “perfect”…
With the abolition of apartheid, South Africa is now a “basket case”–unable to feed its own people. Whites are continually being genocided out of existence. Farms that are being expropriated from their white owners are falling into disrepair, and are even being dismantled by their new “owners” for scrap value.
Am I making excuses for and promoting apartheid? YES, I most certainly am…As a matter of fact, we could use a little apartheid, here in the USA, in order to tame our urban feral black underclass…

    • Aminu

Indeed anarchist! what a shallow reasoning and excuses for human right abuse against blacks.

      • anarchyst

…what “human rights” do blacks have in South Africa now?? the right to slaughter each other and whites…
Apartheid made South African society work…the “proof is in the pudding”…

          • anarchyst

…who cares?? Honest work is honest work…now there are no jobs for blacks (outside of government)

          • Tonnero

We do. It cannot work for the whites while the blacks were slaves and discriminated against. You may not be African so you will not understand the saying that it is better to be poor in one’s father’s house than be a slave in a rich man’s house. This saying was paraphrased by “give me freedom or give me death”. It is not for nothing that Africans who arrive the US today do better on the average that the ones who have been there for hundreds of years. Reason: the spirit of the ones who have been there has been broken. They have imbibed the lie that they are inferior to others and their psyche has been damaged. True, today’s South Africa may be faring worse than the one run by Whites but let them make their mistakes and learn from it. They will be fine. If you are African, I suggest you reconnect with your roots and the wise sayings in Africa. If you are not, then I suggest you mind your f*cking business and do not try to tell us racism is good for us.

          • anarchyst

…blacks were not “slaves” in South Africa…why would blacks come to apartheid-era South Africa to be enslaved? Your comment does not appear to make sense…
As to “racism”…at least from an American standpoint…

The term “racism” was invented by communists, and is used to destroy cultures and defuse (and render impotent) those with differing points-of-view on “racial” issues.

            That being said . . .
True “racism” is desirable as it merely cements cultural and social bonds that are necessary for a society to function and flourish.

True “racism” merely denotes commonality of purpose and advancement within each respective racial group.

Blacks have the NAACP and Congressional Black Caucus, Hispanics have La Raza and Mecha, Jews have the $PLC, ACLU and ADL. These are all “racist” organizations that serve to promote the interests (and political power) of their respective races.

It is only whites who are castigated and threatened for attempting to show any signs of racial solidarity.

Let’s look at what these “evil, privileged” whites have done for Western society and the world:

            1. “Civil-rights (for some)” laws (that effectively destroy “freedom of association” for whites, but not for other races) and do not apply to whites–only “people of color” are covered by these so-called “civil-rights (for some)” protections, (Ask “Attorney General” Eric holder about that).

            2. “Affirmative action” policies (that push better qualified whites out of positions and jobs that they would ordinarily qualify for) in favor of lesser-qualified minorities. In fact, “affirmative action” policies actually damage those minorities who are quite capable of “making it on their own” because they get “lumped in” with the groups that cannot make it on their own without “help”,

            3. “Contract set-asides” (that are specifically targeted for minorities (that white people are prohibited from bidding on) and immigration policies (that specifically exclude whites, most of who have skills that would benefit the USA) in favor of those from the third-world (with no marketable skills).

            4. Scholarships that specify particular ethnic groups are looked upon favorably by most people, save one–scholarships that are intended for whites only are looked upon as being “racist”, and therefore impermissible and improper in today’s racially-charged climate of “political correctness”.

NO OTHER RACE (BUT WHITES) HAS BENT OVER BACKWARDS to assure that all non-white races receive a “fair shake” in being a part of American life, even to the detriment and social well-being of “our own kind” (whites).

Whites possess an externalized altruism that no other races possesses. This externalized altruism that “looks out for the other guy” will be the demise of the white race. This altruism needs to be internalized and focused inward, just as other races have done. There is NO SHAME in looking out for one’s own kind.

“Multiculturalism” and “diversity” are code-words for white genocide.

          • Benicio

How dare you come here and spit out all that foolishness I am not one to throw insults online but you deserve more than just insults…… You probably are one of those people that would use the bible to justify slavery. You come here and challenge the merits of empowering a disenfranchised group of people. A group of people that the system was never meant to help or protect, group of people this country has reaped it development through and built its foundation on the backs of their slave ancestors. Yes it can be argued which civilization or empire never did that…. but you trying to argue that reparation to that race is not necessary is incomprehensible.

To come here and expose how warped your mind is.
Affirmative Action i repeat has never pushed any better qualified White person out of a job!!!. Statistics show that A White man with a criminal record stands a better chance at a job vacancy than a black man with a clean record when they both possess parallel credentials and qualification. So please be careful where you say that.

Minority contracts is very necessary has it is to trickle out part of the pie to these disenfranchised groups. What percentage of this is allocated, it does not even make a dent in the big picture. 6%. I believe it does not take a genius to know where the other 94% goes.

I’m sure you are one of those that think Women don’t produce as much, or haven’t brought much to the table and should not be compensated equally to men….

This article is about the Israel which has taught us to fight each other and to work for Slavers; all of us. We would be working for ourselves, had we never been invaded by lazy anglos under Israel, like Jonathan. Blacks will never fight any one for Israel Corporate profits

You don’t know any more about Blacks in America than Blacks in America know about you. Israel controls the schools. Blacks have created and invented every thing that you see in America and that you wish for in Africa. EU gives you a gun to shoot other black people, just like they give to black children to shoot other black children in the US.

White people love Africa enough to kill for it.

Be careful who you ask for help. Africans are all grown up now. You may go.

It is unfortunate that today’s Nigerian government is now standing on the side of a country that brazenly supported the secessionists in their abortive attempt to break the country up during the 1969-1970 Civil War.

We are in this world acting out scripts written about us or our race or gender by some forces greater than us. We as human being were created with high intellectual capacity. We are left to chose which part we want to play in the script. There will always be rulers and the ruled, oppressed and the oppressor, rich and the poor, opportune and marginalized, actor and boss, lead actor and supporting actor. Whichever part we chose to play depend on the conscious choice we make and our understanding about whom we are. I have never seen myself as marginalized or disadvantaged, I study those I think are doing some things better than me, I don’t get envy of them because I know we are differently talented, I try to learn from them and equip myself to be a better person today than yesterday. I see opportunity in every disappointment, I seek for good in the evil around. It is a personal choice because I don’t ever like to be the victim. If I dig a well of water in the desert today, cease it, i’ll move on to dig another, take that one again i’ll move on to build another. Within a short while I’ll make history and become a expert in getting water in the desert while the oppressor dies of thirst when the ceased well dries up. There was once a Landlord of mine to whom I pay house rent, he sleeps outside and died homeless. Lack of productivity is a thing of the mind and not about the resources at your disposal. It’s not about how much you have it is about whom you are. Palestine will always fight to possess what they don’t have and do nothing with what they have. Blacks will always fight to gain equality with the whites and do nothing to earn the respect of the white. I am black from the soil of Africa, living in America, I don’t see any difference between me and any white person, they seek my help when they know the solution to their problem lies in my charge, I seek their help when I know they have the solution to my problem. I do not seek equality because for me I don’t see a difference.
