NSCDC deploys 10,000 officers to maintain peace in Abuja during Christmas

NSCDC says it is ready to tackle “any form” of terror in Abuja.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Abuja Command, has deployed 10,000 men to maintain peace and order in the Nigerian capital during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

The Abuja Commandant, Abdullahi Kofaroro, told newsmen in Abuja on Thursday that more than 10,000 men had been deployed to strategic locations in the capital.

“We are ready to confront any form of crime during this festival, that is why we are deploying more than 10,000 of our men, including those at the area and divisional commands,” he said.

Mr. Kofaroro said the command is ready to work with other security agencies in Abuja to forestall any security breach.

He commended the synergy between his command and other security agencies in the territory to protect the lives and property of residence.

He said the command would not relent in its commitment to promote and sustain the cordial relationship with other security agencies.

Mr. Kofaroro advised residents to be law abiding and report any security breach to the command.

He warned that security agencies would not condone any form of lawlessness in the territory.
